Storyline:
A neighboring rancher, Andy, is good friends with Ben, but his son (Todd) wants to sell their land for mining operations which will spoil the water rights agreement that Andy and Ben made years ago.
Reviews:
"Though they were once friends, it seems Adam and Todd McMurrin have grown out of that phase in their lives and become rivals for the land. Mr. McMurren and Ben Cartwright have always been friends, but it's time to hand the reins over to Todd. The problem is, Todd is letting the wrong people influence him. He's in love with a decent girl who has a father that is not decent. Her father does several things to prove himself not to be the father of any girl.
I think the sulfur bath for cows is the most interesting thing. We see other westerns tackle this concept, but in this episode it's Ben's suddenly unique idea. He got the idea from a flea bath that Hoss was giving...go figure! Who knew that Ben was the first to think of it..." Written by mitchrmp on IMDb.com
"A few familiar character players are in this Bonanza episode which has a strain put on the relationship of Lorne Greene and Rhys Williams, neighboring ranchers and long time friends. That's because Williams has turned the running of his ranch over to son Don Dubbins. And Dubbins has come under the influence of mining magnate Robert F. Simon and he's selling a piece of land of his where the Cartwrights have water rights. The influence is pretty substantial when it involves the pretty Merry Anders who Dubbins is courting.
But it gets real bad when some Cartwright cattle come down with plague. Lorne Greene is giving the cattle sulfur baths as a preventive, but the others won't listen.
Dubbins both on the big screen and small played callow youths until he was well in the upper 20s. I'm not sure how the climax and what happens there would have led to some rather more bitter feelings than shown.
Still the cast and guests perform well." Written by bkoganbing on IMDb.com

I'm 59 as a 12 year old my Dad turned me on to Gunsmoke and Bonanza the two greatest western series ever.
I hope you're doing well, sir. My dad did the same thing.
Hoss to save the day! Haha
God bless this series: amazing actors, set designs and always a moral to the story.
So sad what America and it’s Hollyweird has become.
How many who read this know Boo Boo should have used its instead of it's? What he wrote in essence is "So sad America and it is Hollyweird has become," because that's (a contraction of that is) what it's means. So many get contractions mixed up with pronouns by using your instead of you're or their instead of they're. That is what is sad to me.
A man must make it on his own - by selling his dad's land
A very good early episode - Adam at his best. Ben, as always, sharing his wisdom

If you listen carefully, one of the cows that jumped in the sulfur bath towards the end said "Woo" instead of "Moo" 😆😆😆
LOVE their Dinner times!! :) I wish we had a Cook like Hopsin!
Another brilliant episode, wonderful characters. Ginnie is such a lovely strong woman and I love how she stands by Todd and steers him in the right path. Excellent episode. Right up there with the best.
Love This show,
2:19, this is probably the only time in the history of Bonanza where Hoss is seen reading a book!
In real life"HOSS" was an extremely intelligent man who was also a brilliant sportsman....he was loved by all the Bonanza crew and it was his early departure from this world that ended the series......
@@karlosvulture7707 yea, I remember hearing that he was sort of an intellectual.
@Roger McIntyre. I'm pretty sure that I saw him reading a book in another episode.
Dan Blocker was a schoolteacher.
@@JOLLYROGE007 yea, I heard that from someone one time. I heard he was a highly intelligent person!
Always A Pleasure To watch!
Bravo - Bonanza - Classic TV. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing this old series.
Best regards luck and health.
I've seen to have missed a lot of western movie's like Bonanza ! I never been a TV watcher! These are must see movies.
I’ve watched this so much, I feel like Ben Cartwright is my dad and the boys are my brothers! 😃
Ikr. It’s my comfort show. I just fell in love with them. I love Michael Landon I watched Little house on the Prairie as a kid. So I watched them finally about 6 years ago. I watch them every night to lull me to sleep. But I do watch them for hours first. Smh 🙌🙌🙌🙆🏻♀️
Love Adam in his chaps!
🤤
"Those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise".
👍 Great
Fantastic and amazing movie, all the Cartwright's defending their land and animal's side by side their Father Ben, they are all Gentleman's. ,,, Yes they are on true life or on the Movie, Best episodes of Western Wild Life, showing the Rude Life and Surviver's of these really Period Time's .
Nice!
On this episode of Bonanza: Biological warfare!
That's Adam Cartwright and he's quick with the draw, so don't cross him.
This is the episode Michael Landon meets his 2nd wife, Lynn Noe
Does she play a saloon girl?
Wonderful cowboy movie ( Thanks Gringo) its wonder colorful also its amazing story ( Ambition which build on others economic resources destruction& living pains causing for others as soon as possible or later its ruining
Damn it Bonanza is screaming for a reboot with more edge!!!!
"Yellowstone" with Kevin Costner :)
They all dead
16:04, Adam and Todd get into a fight at the dance.
Excellent
I’m sure Adam enjoyed washing the cows.
Another classic comedic upload Grjngo. These Cartwrights are hilariously dysfunctional and the house cook 'Chop Suey' fits right in, when he's featured, with the Ponderosa goofballs.

This wasn't a comedic episode and the cook's name is Hop Sing.
Keep up the good work
36:00, Adam questions Tucker.
The selfish nemesis, and the righteous critical thinker creating a solution. :Ben Cartwright always the solution alpha male.
Evil father inlaw killed now Todd back on side of good. Good episode 👍🏽
This woman is so beautiful
First Virginia's father, whose name I forget) tells his boys to plant some of the diseased cattle he bought onto Ben's land to sicken Ben's herd of cattle, then tells Todd Ben bought the cattle in Texas knowing they were sick, risking the lives of all herds of cattle in the area, then he has his boys attack Hoss and claims Ben attacked them. I enjoyed the episode that took place in San Francisco where Ben was shanghaied, but not this one. I do thank AAR AAR for letting us know Todd got his attitude straightened out.
5:07, Andy slaps his son Todd.
Another two sided story with no one at fault just trying to live and survive. Ones got it better than the other so jealousy and envy gets in the way. Accept for the woman's father who has a power hungry appetite and we all know money changes a person, if you don't have it you'll do just about anything to get it and if you do have it it's never enough. Everyone in this place has their own flaws and the only way out of this life is to learn from your mistakes to become a better person.
👍😍
43:46 Do you own the Ponderosa now? I've met people who have told me to get out of a neighborhood. It's funny how people tell me to get off land they don't even own.
If it will affect cattle, why wouldn't it affect horses??????
this reminds me of the fraggle rock episode "river of life"
They've covered so many of the issues we face today: biowarfare, climate change, pollution. I wonder when the Cartwrights get to tackle SPACE ALIENS.
Why not the tic infested horse?
:(
Where are the birds?
poor litter critter; creature? he took the first *swing at you; 휘둘러갈기다
I'd love to know where the scene at the start was filmed?
Iverson movie ranch
I wonder how the cowboy westerns would be like if there were no horses and only elephants and giraffes ! How the bad men and good men would chase each other over hills and valleys !
Virginia was a good looking woman
Oh ha you know better you need some food for your dog
Tod could come with more than just a smack in the mouth
?
