The "EQ Swap" is my favorite technique. I normally try to do the "seamless" technique but I always feel rushed, but now the "EQ Swap" seems to be better suited for my style of mixing. I loved everything about the tutorial and not only am I going to try the "EQ Swap" I'm going to try to use Highs in "Seamless" since I usually only do the Mids and the Lows. #GameChanger
I’m a big fan of layering, I think it brings high energy and takes the listener on a journey. It allows them to hear different elements of songs together. Loads of my pals ask me ‘what was that remix’ when really it was just two songs which absolutely bang together 😮💨. Love the video Jamie 👍🏽
Although 1 and 2 are classics, 3 - Layering has the most fun and energy!!! Admittedly I use 2 a lot more though, as it's more forgiving. Jamie, as always, one of the best DJs teachers out there. Straightforward and clear.
Just got my first controller 2 days ago! I’m luck I went to college for guitar for a minute so I understand key matching well from music theory classes. I actually use classic notation because it’s what I learned. But this video showing to start the next track on the drop of the previous was very helpful. The blending and transitions are way more of an art then what people and musicians like myself have thought. Thank you for this very informative video and structuring it the way you do!
#3 was my favorite. I’ve done each of these in the past, but never thought to bring the mids down. It is subtle but clearly makes a difference…thanks for the tip👊🏽
I like the layering technique here as I'm always trying to keep the energy going. Getting your phrases working together and not being afraid to mix mid tune is often overlooked in a lot of tutorials. Good stuff!
The 1st and 3rd are my favorite. The 1st is so simple watching it but something I've been trying yo master for a while and I just love the illusion of never realizing the track was changed.
EQ Swap is definitely my favourite one to keep the crowd engaged and keep full control over the transition. When I started mixing I would just fade in and fade out but as soon as you start doing multi genre mixes with diverse drum patterns and basslines, you need to get more creative to create smooth blends.
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen so far for Simple & Clean Techniques! I've been on the fence for a while on if i should learn how to DJ, and I think this video made my decision for me!
My fav tip was how to layer, as it takes so much to get it right. The tip was how you keep one track on the bass and the other on the vocal, but you have to change the bass and remove one of the middles to allow one track to be vocal and other the song, thanks for the vid, even though it was short it was really good👍🏻
House music is SO popular. Even bassheads like myself are loving it these days. I can understand why this video was made but I completed the beginner DJ course and learned ALL OF THIS stuff in it. Thank you so much to Crossfader for your educational material and courses. I can't wait to continue on to intermediate, advanced, and scratching! My favorite tip is the EQ swap. Super easy tip for beginners that gives you a chance to recognize the his, mids, and lows so that you know what the music is going to sound like before you even change the EQ. #wearecrossfader
I loved this video. As a beginner these simply explained videos are so helpful. Not too fast like some. Thought it was cool how you showed two different ways for the same technique. But my favorite was the layering tips. I feel like this will definitely improve my sets. As well as make me feel more confident as a DJ. #wearecrossfader
I like the third one, although being new to this, i keep trying the others as well, i have just gotta calm down when it goes wrong. But i love learning, thanks crossfader, your a big help
I’m so glad y’all make these because I’m a newbie still and I learn more hands on so reading or watching videos don’t help much but it’s nice to know I’m doing things correctly. thanks ❤️🙌
My favourite technique is layering. This is my default mixing style and allows me to get really creative by implementing loops and effects to blend the two tracks together. Some blends sound bloody amazing which keeps my passion for DJing going🙌Awesome video guys‼️
the layering technique. is. just so fun to play with !! It allow a lot of creativity with vocal and others !That the reason it is my favorite #wearecrossfader
I really appreciated the segment on layering! I'm brand new to the Crossfader community, so any informative Cross videos like this one (and this one was especially informative) receive a comment and thumb up from me. Keep doing what y'all do! #wearecrossfader
Knowing all 3 techniques makes you a well rounded DJ. reading the crowd and using them when appropriate is best. Maybe at the beginning of a set you use the first technique more and then when the crowd is hyped use the layover techniques. I like them all 3
The first tip is one of the very first things I was taught by a DJ, but what he didn't tell me was what Jamie said about the EQ levels visually matching in the middle, which is important and it's a good indicator if you're mixing well. Thank you #wearecrossfader
@@dja1soundscaribbeanclassic24 i feel like its the hardest for me, mainly cause i have a lot of vocal house i use so hard to time it unless I prepare tracks. But i like just freestyle mixing in my bedroom lol
Love all these techniques and I love to use them all. But sometimes I find simple is king when playing gigs as I'm still a beginner and I don't want to fluff a set, so I'd say the seamless blend is probably my favourite. Thanks again Crossfader for another great video, as usual.
The third tip was my favorite because I have been practicing it for about a week now. That tip is now going to help me perfect my mixing. Thank you! #wearecrossfader.
Third one is the best, as it maintains the energy level during transition and keeps people grooving without a hiccup. Seamless transition. Love from India #wearecrossfaders
Totally feel that. I used to sort by key when deciding what to play next. Then I started noticing that when the “right” track popped into my head, 90% of the time it was in the same key.
@@robertgarvansnyder4665 is that because you know the music theory behind it ….or did it jus click one day ? I’m Still trying to get that intuition for that
@@ljthirtyfiver I think it's more of a familiarity with the tracks I was playing, and one track would be more likely to make me suddenly think of another track if it was in a compatible key. Definitely not because I was using any music theory.
My favorite is the third one, playing multiple songs at the same time gives me more room for creativity, then quickly mix into the new song after you've finished the old one and restart the process (i like to prepare my sets)
The “EQ Swap” or “Layering” were my favorite techniques. I like how the swapping allows you to transition smoothly into a different song using the different highs/lows. I like how the layering sounds as well to form a new type of beat. Love this video! Very helpful tips!!
When building my set I love to use the "EQ swap" technique. It allows me to keep elevating the energie during the set. During a downpart of the set I intent to use the "seamless blend" to match the lower energie level en give the audience moment before you give them another energie buildup. Awesome video, keep it up #wearecrossfader
Layering was my favourite technique in this video, although I think all 3 are just as important as each other depending on the situation. Thank you for your tip on reducing middle frequencies where the vocals sit. Very helpful.
Thanks for the tutorials, guys! The Third one: Layering is my favorite. I love searching for songs that mesh well together and giving new life to old tracks by layering them. #wearecrossfader
Layering is a cool technique that I’ve been messing around with on my own deck. Definitely my favorite technique of the three and something I wish I were better at. I’m imagining some dope vocals that I’ll put on top of some house beats. Thanks for the video guys and I’m looking forward to the next! #wearecrossfader
I really liked the seamless transition tips, specifically the timing reminders as to how long it should be for each eq adjustment. I would really love to see you performing these tips on a larger controller like the XZ as it would be easier to isolate what your hands are doing. Thank you for doing what you do! Cheers🍻
I use all of the techniques to be honest though the Third Layering technique is the one i use more often because your actually creating a 3rd Track by layering 2 tracks, this technique combined with looping those stripped back parts like the Bridge for example are what makes tracks you heard a million times before sound like remixes.

That was probably the BEST tutorial on mixing House music I’ve ever found on YT. Clear, concise, and easy to understand. Bravo Crossfader
Really? 🤣🤣🤣
I'm obsessed with the layering technique, allows you to come up with different drops everytime and never lack of dynamics.

+1
It all depends on the tracks and compatibility. There's no one good way, every way has their own place and it's good to practice all of it.
Same for me as well
Dude same!!
The EQ swaps part was my favourite - applied to myself mixing DNB. Helped me understand a new way to introduce the next song with layering.
Although 1 and 2 are classics, 3 - Layering has the most fun and energy!!! Admittedly I use 2 a lot more though, as it's more forgiving. Jamie, as always, one of the best DJs teachers out there. Straightforward and clear.

EQ Swap is definetly my favourite technique ! it's easy and professional at the same time , makes the mixing sound better.
The best tip for me from the video is the layering. I love this trick and i use layering now too.
I like the layering technique here as I'm always trying to keep the energy going. Getting your phrases working together and not being afraid to mix mid tune is often overlooked in a lot of tutorials. Good stuff!
I love the energy of the hard EQ swap. Thé layering is my second favorite one

3rd technique was my fav. Using the hot cue points to swap vocals. Great!
I really like the layering technique. It's one that I was kind of aware of but didn't know how it works. This is the one I'll try for sure.
I really liked the “layering” technique. Great to use for introducing new energy with a recognizable vocal/chorus.
#wearecrossfader
I like the first method. Different genres require different mixing styles. Great video!
I like the EQ swap and sometimes combining with layering.
I like the last one layering also matching the phrases as well
Got real excited with the layering technique!! definitely be trying that out this weekend !
Helpful tutorial crossfaders! Layering is definitely my favorite and would practice on more! Thanks and cheers!
Layering is the best for me because it allows the next transition not to be dependent on intros or outros💯🤝

Same here, EQ swap :) I'd say that all three are great techniques, but for me the swap takes the cake.
That actually helped me as a beginner...thanks!
Layering sounds best but all are effective. Good job
Jamie you're smashing it as always bro👍
Third one is the best, as it maintains the energy level during transition and keeps people grooving without a hiccup. Seamless transition. Love from India #wearecrossfaders
