The "EQ Swap" is my favorite technique. I normally try to do the "seamless" technique but I always feel rushed, but now the "EQ Swap" seems to be better suited for my style of mixing. I loved everything about the tutorial and not only am I going to try the "EQ Swap" I'm going to try to use Highs in "Seamless" since I usually only do the Mids and the Lows. #GameChanger
I’m a big fan of layering, I think it brings high energy and takes the listener on a journey. It allows them to hear different elements of songs together. Loads of my pals ask me ‘what was that remix’ when really it was just two songs which absolutely bang together 😮💨. Love the video Jamie 👍🏽
I like the layering technique here as I'm always trying to keep the energy going. Getting your phrases working together and not being afraid to mix mid tune is often overlooked in a lot of tutorials. Good stuff!
EQ Swap is definitely my favourite one to keep the crowd engaged and keep full control over the transition. When I started mixing I would just fade in and fade out but as soon as you start doing multi genre mixes with diverse drum patterns and basslines, you need to get more creative to create smooth blends.
My fav tip was how to layer, as it takes so much to get it right. The tip was how you keep one track on the bass and the other on the vocal, but you have to change the bass and remove one of the middles to allow one track to be vocal and other the song, thanks for the vid, even though it was short it was really good👍🏻
@@dja1soundscaribbeanclassic24 i feel like its the hardest for me, mainly cause i have a lot of vocal house i use so hard to time it unless I prepare tracks. But i like just freestyle mixing in my bedroom lol
The 1st and 3rd are my favorite. The 1st is so simple watching it but something I've been trying yo master for a while and I just love the illusion of never realizing the track was changed.
I loved this video. As a beginner these simply explained videos are so helpful. Not too fast like some. Thought it was cool how you showed two different ways for the same technique. But my favorite was the layering tips. I feel like this will definitely improve my sets. As well as make me feel more confident as a DJ. #wearecrossfader
I like the third one, although being new to this, i keep trying the others as well, i have just gotta calm down when it goes wrong. But i love learning, thanks crossfader, your a big help
the layering technique. is. just so fun to play with !! It allow a lot of creativity with vocal and others !That the reason it is my favorite #wearecrossfader
Although 1 and 2 are classics, 3 - Layering has the most fun and energy!!! Admittedly I use 2 a lot more though, as it's more forgiving. Jamie, as always, one of the best DJs teachers out there. Straightforward and clear.
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen so far for Simple & Clean Techniques! I've been on the fence for a while on if i should learn how to DJ, and I think this video made my decision for me!
Just got my first controller 2 days ago! I’m luck I went to college for guitar for a minute so I understand key matching well from music theory classes. I actually use classic notation because it’s what I learned. But this video showing to start the next track on the drop of the previous was very helpful. The blending and transitions are way more of an art then what people and musicians like myself have thought. Thank you for this very informative video and structuring it the way you do!
House music is SO popular. Even bassheads like myself are loving it these days. I can understand why this video was made but I completed the beginner DJ course and learned ALL OF THIS stuff in it. Thank you so much to Crossfader for your educational material and courses. I can't wait to continue on to intermediate, advanced, and scratching! My favorite tip is the EQ swap. Super easy tip for beginners that gives you a chance to recognize the his, mids, and lows so that you know what the music is going to sound like before you even change the EQ. #wearecrossfader
The third tip was my favorite because I have been practicing it for about a week now. That tip is now going to help me perfect my mixing. Thank you! #wearecrossfader.
#3 was my favorite. I’ve done each of these in the past, but never thought to bring the mids down. It is subtle but clearly makes a difference…thanks for the tip👊🏽
Third one is the best, as it maintains the energy level during transition and keeps people grooving without a hiccup. Seamless transition. Love from India #wearecrossfaders
When building my set I love to use the "EQ swap" technique. It allows me to keep elevating the energie during the set. During a downpart of the set I intent to use the "seamless blend" to match the lower energie level en give the audience moment before you give them another energie buildup. Awesome video, keep it up #wearecrossfader
Knowing all 3 techniques makes you a well rounded DJ. reading the crowd and using them when appropriate is best. Maybe at the beginning of a set you use the first technique more and then when the crowd is hyped use the layover techniques. I like them all 3
My favourite technique is layering. This is my default mixing style and allows me to get really creative by implementing loops and effects to blend the two tracks together. Some blends sound bloody amazing which keeps my passion for DJing going🙌Awesome video guys‼️
Awesome tutorial! The third mixing method is probably my favorite if you can sync the phrasing/vocals correctly. Less disruptive and keeps the energy going for the audience. Working on this myself with track selections. #wearecrossfader
The 3rd one by far! Playing with a capellas brings the sets to another level! There is a guy, James Hype, I dunno if you know him haha (joking!) that is the master of layering this! Your course brought my first gig! Keep this on!
Jamie first off love the new hair style bro!!! I have been a huge fan and client of yours since 2018!!! I think the big takeaway here is to make the mix on the phrase changes - I like the slam in (clean swap method) for the type of songs I mix! My favorite technique though is tip number 3 for sure! Love the energy level and uniqueness that comes with layering! #wearecrossfader
The first tip is one of the very first things I was taught by a DJ, but what he didn't tell me was what Jamie said about the EQ levels visually matching in the middle, which is important and it's a good indicator if you're mixing well. Thank you #wearecrossfader
I've definitely noticed that I've been relying on the filter too much and I've seen technique 2 being used before but it didn't quite click until today. Definitely going to have to give this a shot. Thank you! #wearecrossfader
Thanks for the tutorial!! I've been practicing the 1st technique (seamless blend). This tutorial has given me more insight on how to do this. Once I've mastered that one, I will begin working on the 2nd technique (EQ swap). I think this one might be my favorite. Again, thanks for sharing. #wearecrossfader
Layering is a cool technique that I’ve been messing around with on my own deck. Definitely my favorite technique of the three and something I wish I were better at. I’m imagining some dope vocals that I’ll put on top of some house beats. Thanks for the video guys and I’m looking forward to the next! #wearecrossfader
If I had to choose a technique, I’d go with number one seamless blending. I enjoy this technique because it’s continuous when you’re in a mix and you don’t have to make drastic changes to a track. Appreciate this channel and all of your great content. #wearecrossfader
Love the 3rd technique!!! Layering from my perspective helps keep the audience in the groove of music and doesn’t confuse them by gently blending and layering in the next track, but employs impactful cross overs by introducing the lows at a moment when everyone may have though there would be a break in the track, but the rhythm keeps going! #wearecrossfader
Well all of these transitions were perfect and as we all know learning to do a transition is one hell of a thing but the one i prefered the most was layering because it was very creative and it would bring some energy to the crowd because the next comes on without them noticing how u dropped it in and when the song u dropped is a hype they all go mad
I'm glad you mentioned these techniques! I've been using the 3rd one myself, so I would definitely recommend that for all DJ's wanting to improve their house mixes! Thank you crossfader for all the videos and the help 👍 #wearecrossfader
Really dope video, I really liked the EQ swap part, I think it's pretty cool... But my favourite I would say it was the 3rd tip Layering. That's something I wanna improve on. #wearecrossfader
The 3rd technique is my favorite because I am always about the drama of layering two songs together and seeing what cool new combo you can come up with. #wearecrossfader
Thanks for the tutorials, guys! The Third one: Layering is my favorite. I love searching for songs that mesh well together and giving new life to old tracks by layering them. #wearecrossfader

That was probably the BEST tutorial on mixing House music I’ve ever found on YT. Clear, concise, and easy to understand. Bravo Crossfader
Really? 🤣🤣🤣
The "EQ Swap" is my favorite technique. I normally try to do the "seamless" technique but I always feel rushed, but now the "EQ Swap" seems to be better suited for my style of mixing. +1
It all depends on the tracks and compatibility. There's no one good way, every way has their own place and it's good to practice all of it.
Same for me as well
Dude same!!
I'm obsessed with the layering technique, allows you to come up with different drops everytime and never lack of dynamics.
The EQ swaps part was my favourite - applied to myself mixing DNB. Helped me understand a new way to introduce the next song with layering.
I like the layering technique here as I'm always trying to keep the energy going. Getting your phrases working together and not being afraid to mix mid tune is often overlooked in a lot of tutorials. Good stuff!
The best tip for me from the video is the layering. I love this trick and i use layering now too.
I really liked the “layering” technique. Great to use for introducing new energy with a recognizable vocal/chorus.
#wearecrossfader
EQ Swap is definitely my favourite one to keep the crowd engaged and keep full control over the transition. When I started mixing I would just fade in and fade out but as soon as you start doing multi genre mixes with diverse drum patterns and basslines, you need to get more creative to create smooth blends.
I do all 3 of these things without even knowing it (stil new at dj'ing)but seen your video definitely helped a TON. Thanks bruv
I usually go with the EQ swap. Awesome vid !
2nd Technique - EQ swapping. Very good tutorial👌
My fav tip was how to layer, as it takes so much to get it right. The tip was how you keep one track on the bass and the other on the vocal, but you have to change the bass and remove one of the middles to allow one track to be vocal and other the song, thanks for the vid, even though it was short it was really good👍🏻
EQ Swap is definetly my favourite technique ! it's easy and professional at the same time , makes the mixing sound better.
Layering and EQ Swap All the way!
Great Video Boys!
I liked the EQ swaps layering part That explanation helped me understand a new way to introduce the next song:)
I like the EQ swap and sometimes combining with layering.
My favorite is Technique 3 Layering.
I like this technique. It sounds very nice & smoothy.
Loved the tutorial! 3rd one’s definitely my favourite. Layering allows you to be more creative and definitely adds to the energy!
#wearecrossfader
I really like the number 3, it is simple to use I use it all the time.definitely the best.
#wearecrossfader
@@dja1soundscaribbeanclassic24 i feel like its the hardest for me, mainly cause i have a lot of vocal house i use so hard to time it unless I prepare tracks. But i like just freestyle mixing in my bedroom lol
@@brunocristan7047you can add q points where the vocals start and end. I normally make them a different color.
I love the energy of the hard EQ swap. Thé layering is my second favorite one
The 1st and 3rd are my favorite. The 1st is so simple watching it but something I've been trying yo master for a while and I just love the illusion of never realizing the track was changed.
I love the eq swap tip I always use this in my mixes anyway
Layering is my favorite I learned it today by this vid and I love it
I loved this video. As a beginner these simply explained videos are so helpful. Not too fast like some. Thought it was cool how you showed two different ways for the same technique. The "EQ Swap" is my favorite , thanks for the great video, very useful, keep going the nice job :)
Tip 3. Thank you Jamie for this video, your teaching skills are awesome. #wearecrossfader
Although 1 and 2 are classics, 3 - Layering has the most fun and energy!!! Admittedly I use 2 a lot more though, as it's more forgiving. Jamie, as always, one of the best DJs teachers out there. Straightforward and clear.
The EQ swap, layering was my favorite technique
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen so far for Simple & Clean Techniques! I've been on the fence for a while on if i should learn how to DJ, and I think this video made my decision for me!
The last tip is my favorite. I use the first two quite often but now have something new to add in. Thanks for the tips!
Layering is the best for me because it allows the next transition not to be dependent on intros or outros💯🤝
Just got my first controller 2 days ago! I’m luck I went to college for guitar for a minute so I understand key matching well from music theory classes. My favourite technique is layering because you can merge different song elements together. I will try it out on my DDJ400. Great video everybody 😊
3rd is my favorite technique been using it for years now but i do like all three as they help with different songs
The third tip was my favorite because I have been practicing it for about a week now. That tip is now going to help me perfect my mixing. Thank you! #wearecrossfader.
Amazing video! Layering is definitely my favourite…
3rd technique was my fav. Using the hot cue points to swap vocals. Great!
#3 was my favorite. I’ve done each of these in the past, but never thought to bring the mids down. It is subtle but clearly makes a difference…thanks for the tip👊🏽
Same here, EQ swap :) I'd say that all three are great techniques, but for me the swap takes the cake.
The EQ Swap technique is definitely my favorite !

I like the seemless, simple & clean
Layering sounds best but all are effective. Good job
Jamie you're smashing it as always bro👍
I used to be just about the mix and blend now I’ve started to eq swap too. Different techniques for different vibes.
And different crowd
All about different vibes man
I like the EQ swap tip, just started mixing and use this a lot and think it's great for beginners
Great content for sure it's the layering with the bass swap !
For me the EQ swap is the best, you can always use it and almost with every genres.🔥
Knowing all 3 techniques makes you a well rounded DJ. reading the crowd and using them when appropriate is best. Maybe at the beginning of a set you use the first technique more and then when the crowd is hyped use the layover techniques. I like them all 3
I really like the layering technique. It's one that I was kind of aware of but didn't know how it works. This is the one I'll try for sure.
I like the last one layering also matching the phrases as well
I like the first method. Different genres require different mixing styles. Great video!
That actually helped me as a beginner...thanks!
