I imagine in the future they might render say "mars" in insane detail and then take pictures like this inside that render to make a virtual photo geometry game. that was you can get photo realistic photos without it actually being in the real world
Yes of course you could make a game in photogrammetry space. But you'd have a hard time getting a space that exactly matched what you want in the game. And as you develop the game you'll probably find that you want to change the space. Also the space can't be in any way interactive. So you can't change the lighting, or have it react to lights/explosions in the scene. You could of course fake it like they did with this where some is photogram and others are just normal game objects (like all the cloth) but it would be very difficult to do. The lack of lighting would really stand out, as you'd have a big explosion and the photogram wouldn't react at all. But you could def. use it for things like the holopoint dojo. The big thing keeping people back from doing it, is that photogrammetry is very difficult/time intensive to do, so it's far more work than it's worth for anyone but a specialist to do it currently.
Yes I think making a shooter with people is possible, years ago I wned an arcade machine by Sega it was called time traveler and it was kind of a hologram effect and used a lazer disc player but worked by making choices like dragons lair and was developed by Don bluth and his partner it was a cool machine but expensive to maintain because of the tech available at the time but now it would totally be possible just like a game where it's an actual cartoon you play like dragons lair would also be awesome imagine that being in an actual cartoon like cup head but in vr!!
It would be great to make a new version of the Damien Knight series using this- I guess one problem would be the voices - would have to keep the originals but the faces / lip sync could be a challenge

I get motion sick very easily in VR, and I've had games that do movement in a way that doesn't cause me any issues, and other very similar games where it's a major problem. I'm not sure what the issue is - I suspect it has something to do with how close the still images are to one another - I think it may be the transitions that get you.
