It's always scary at first to jump in a project like that, but it's worth it! I redid my basement for this exact purpose at the beginning of Covid quarantine and it was amazing having a big, beautiful creative space. You'll love it!
I love that you actually have two desks. I struggle because I don't have my own work space. My desk is stuffed into my kids room and one end of it serves as a changing table. Fortunately it's very long, so there still is space. But it still ends up as more of a place to just store things, rather than work at. So I usually end up working at our dining room table. Which means moving supplies from room to room etc. I'll definitely try to make my desk more inviting with plants, and to organize it better, so I can actually work there!
I have played the "moving art supplies from room to room" game and it SUCKS. I know that you will love having a dedicated space to explore your creativity and let loose! ❤️
Great video! Your work space looks both practical and comfortable. The main thing I wish I had more of is shelf space (and more wall space to hang things). I often have multiple drinks too! Usually it is water and either tea or coffee, and sometimes I will have gatorade or juice as well (or even more water). I find I really need music to stimulate creative thinking. Sometimes a podcast will work as well, but I usually need to listen to songs that I like to really feel settled and ready to make things.
Thanks for this lovely comment! If I'm drawing I can listen to podcasts, but other than that I need something that's more of a background noise. And I wonder what the multiple drinks thing is about? It's apparently more common than I thought!
My favorites are the plants, the natural light and the desk space. I have two cats who are my companions in all my at home work, which consists of knitting and other needles work. I appreciate you and I am good when you have posted on UA-cam. When I am out shopping and see an unusual fox I think of you. I hope you continue to do well and I wait with great anticipation to see your new home studio/office.
Whatever all those liquids say about YOU, they say about me! I ALWAYS have a mug of hot something, a glass of cold SOMETHING, and a bottle of water. I love the editing for this video! Teach me please haha. I wish I could keep plants in my studio, but I kill them every time, so it's going to be fake plants for me from now one! I love that timeular Zei thing! I think my boyfriend would love that... Talking about art studio's, are you going to do a little before/after of the studio in your new house? :D
Thank you so much! You should try grabbing a pothos. They're often called the devil's ivy because they're so hard to kill! But there ain't no shame in fake plants to spruce up a space easily 😉 I'm sure I will definitely share some before and after. Not sure if I'll make a video about it, but I'm sure to post it on my Instagram!
I honestly don't know what brand it is, but I know it's not a particular name brand. If you look up LED desk lamps on Amazon, you'll find tons of great options that are equivalent to this for less than $30.
