The look EVK gave at 10:05! Cracked me up! Very entertaining video as per usual! :)
150 mile per charge average. Not too bad. With 100kw charging speed is good. 100kwhr pack would be better and would place it at 280 mi range avg.
At last a review of this fine box. You beat a lot of other channels to it. Thank you very much!
What a fantastic review and so happy Harry was there with you again. Totally looking forward to your trip with him to Scotland into the Highlands. I don't expect this to hit Australia but sounds like it needs a bigger battery for more range or perhaps design tweaks to give it better efficiency.
That was an intriguing ending :-)
These electric vans/mpv's are a start but they have a long way to go before they seem like good value for a private buyer.
You have to look at Running cost too.
It's spot on for us, but those price tags are out of our range. But please don't let that put you off buying ... we'll happily have a second hand one for half the price.
@@nicdensley4104 i agree, i think these MPV's are great in principle but you can't ignore value for money.
I'd be bappy with the car size mpv but van based ev's are lagging way behing electric cars in their development.
Mindyou there is a new Renault Kangoo mpv being released this year.
Another great video! I found it funny how you were trying to pretend the children were a nightmare but they were just too darn well-behaved to make your point
I think you can get the cooler box from the (ice) campster /cross camp version in the middle of the front seats.
Almost a builders bum at 4.06 😂 Look forward to the unplugged wild camping episode 😀
Good to have a van/mpv option but it's far too expensive for a fairly small battery with fairly low range.
Its small van counterpart is, I think, days away from being out. Citroen e-Berlingo, Peugeot e-Rifter, Vauxhall Combo-e. Similar price point to the Nissan e-NV200 combi, available with 7 seats, 50kWh battery for a ~140 mile range, capable of DC charging up to 100kW and AC charging up to 11kW. Assuming what you need is just 7 seats, a smaller van will probably offer better range for the price. After all, vans are large and inefficient.
Citroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall do a larger (more expensive) battery for their medium vans, but only for their panel vans in the UK and for all their vans in continental Europe. 75kWh, for a range of ~160 miles. Why they don't offer it in UK passenger vans... who knows?
I like this channel because it shows me the broad range of electric cars. On a different topic I was watching a UA-cam channel called shmee150 and he was complaining about charging stations and that got me thinking about making him the third guy in the electric car podcast
nice looking van wouldnt mind one just to carry my mountain bikes around in
Oooh - second, probably...!!!
(so thrilled......!)
HI EVM! Have you changed your Tesla reg plates to have the green flash like most new EV's seem to have?
You were saying in a previous video that the network was down for someone and they had to charge off a slower charger and if my guess is right I bet that was charge place Scotland because that happened to me a couple of years ago as I crossed the border coming home from where I’m based down south and had to be picked up and I had to leave my car overnight on a slow charger nearby. I only mention this because you are saying about travelling in Scotland.
Fair review, but I think the eBerlingo XL will be an even better package and has 7 seats too
I want one as a camper van, and V2G/V2H 90% of the year.
think the up and over? back door is a godsend for keeping most of the rain off when removing wellies and loading gun dogs. The rear seat adjustment would be better at the front of the seats, but shame they are still using vehicles that look like front engine vehicles, lot of space wasted. Some enterprising person could retro fit a gear knob/lever onto that drive selector
It seems to be a perfect big family container.
The thumbs up was for the 'consumer advice right there' comment! And just generally including Harry in the video!
Back up camera?
I drive a VW Touran (7 seats), and this is the only option, I hope more options become available
Same here I need 8 seats there's not loads of options the vaxhall is awful
Lose the rear seats (to save money?)
Lightweight (folding) bed, kitchen, swivel front seats, a bit more battery and you have a nice little 2 person camper.
So. How long after your Scotland trip did it take for you to notice the plug socket in the back?
maybe when a small child found it 2 days later hehe would have thought you would notice items when loading it up
What a shame it's not available with at least a 50% bigger battery. Or with double you could perhaps do a camper conversion
the space between the front seats and the lack of an irritating centre console enabling you to move across to the pavement side or into the back where you can use the sliding doors is the best feature of this MPV by far. Very useful on a busy street or tight parking space.
Check out the Mercedes-Benz EQV please
schools should be jumping at this as well as companies running the school run contracts
Not sure what school you went to, but our school minibus had to fit a whole team of 11-16 year old in, including substitutes... I think that was 14 plus a driver. So not sure an 8 seater would be useful.
Could you fit a motocross bike in the back with the seats out?
4:18 really easy... as he is panting lol.
Wondering what the boot space is for groceries and pram space.
We have an imax Hyundai and I really want an eVan however. It's hot here in Western Australia and there's LIMITED (none) variety of 8seater+ eVans. We need 8 seater minimum, but would love a 12 seater as we normally have extras who can't fit in our car.
Modify and make it into a day van.
If the range is too short you can always get the 75 kWh battery.
Only for the van. Not this.
@@ElectricVehicleMan In good old Germany you can get the M -sized E- Spacetourer (4,9m) with the bigger battery. Only the XS sized one (4,6 m) is only offered with the smaller battery.
But I reckon it hasn’t to be the same in the UK.
Why isn’t the e-SpaceTourer offered with the e-Dispatch van’s larger 75kWh battery pack?
Weight I would imagine.
Looks the same as the Opel E-Vivaro. Only with 6 more seats.
It is current e-Vivaro, but with different badge :)
£45K ! It was all going well up to then
Unfortunately, for a taxi, the range is just too low, all our cars need to be able to go to the furthest London airport and back (210 miles) and this should be any point during a shift, so add another 60 or so miles, then it might just be up to the job. Apart from that, it looks ideal
😇
The sums just don't add up for our industry, even in Londons phv sector. For that many seats you would need every second job to be the maximum passenger capacity and fare. Cheers
How is the London Taxi EV justified? There even more expensive.
@@ElectricVehicleMan Hackney carriage vehicles (black taxis)fares are much higher and they have access to bus lanes making for a quicker possible earnings. Unless you plan to work evenings and into the early hours 6+ seaters just don't work. I've run two over the year's and now I'll stick to 4 passengers. You have "run" (go past nearer jobs)for the extra seat jobs using more fuel/energy There'safew more issuesregardingownershipbut I've said too much;). Cheers
and price versus diesel eq? and expected life of batteries and cost to replace........
How long do you think batteries last?
Incidentally they’ve just reduced the price of this to £32k b
Towbar ?
It would be perfect for me with 200 range
So you were averaging 900 newtons on your Scottish trip.
So have they beaten VW to the first EV camper van
We fathers of many kids lose our hair young. Looking to replace my vivaro minibus but this is far too expensive and range isn't great. Probably waiting for 7 seat y or cybertruck if we get 6 seat version. Have resigned ourselves to going out in 2 vehicles (7 kids).
I await the skill share sponsorship where you learn how to pause the video at the end.
You should try standup!
they did but fell of the stage. when the horses got spooked hehe
Not in that v... Sorry, People carrier.
If you don’t like the fascia, you can have it as a Toyota 🤪.
Am I the only one who noted the 999mi/kWh at 5:24?
Bjørn noticed!
Missed a trick.
Kids in the rear seats.
Walkie talkies.
Shirley you can't be serious...
i am .. and don't call me Shirley .. RIP Lesley Nielson
Interesting enough Toyota rebadged version will give 15y / 1 million km warranty on battery
Only if you pay for it each year by getting them to service it.
@@ElectricVehicleMan if you wan't to have a valid warranty you need to service the car at dealership, that's for any car having 2,3,5,7,8 or 10 or now 15 year warranty on car itself or battery.
Of course you have to calculate if that pays off for you.
But still no other gives you so much warranty, even taking into account that german one million tesla which had changed battery and engines few times already in 8 years, so 15y/1 million warranty is doable for taxi drivers, delivery vans etc. and I think Toyota will have to change the battery (or at least the modules) in warranty time for the car if it will do 1 million km.
I don't know how it's in UK, but in Latvia taxi drivers drive cars up to 700-800k km, inside you won't even tell the car has so big mileage.
Toyota!!!!???
Surely not!?
Plug your slow charger into that socket overnight 🤣
that is a brilliant solution if you don't have a drive / life in a tower block / can't home charge .. oh , hang on a second
Better Miles per Kw than an Etron
Cruel!
.
.
.
.
But fair.
🤣
Mercedes eqv is much better but also almost double the price.
Far too expensive
Very poor range
