"The entire squad is uphill in full cover. Two stun lancers eye my position. My specialist is in full cover, positioned over vines, blocking passage for an easy melee attack. The lancers improvise. From half cover they both take uphill shots at the well-entrenched units. Double crit. Specialist and Rookie dead. 'Thank you RN-Jesus, they both whisper.' I thought ADVENT worshiped the Elders. Fuck...."
Dapper Changeling apparently he has a huge area he can see if your anywhere in it he'll fire upon you and probably still hit cause that's xcom baby probably also get a critical hit
Scryer in the trailer I think he said that the elders gift allows him to come back from the dead. Meaning if you kill him he could come back into play or maybe I'm misinterpreting his words
+Valorzinski Adventures SPARKs are getting buffs in the expansion though, including increases in base HP, Aim score, and most importantly the ability to use weapon mods. They're definitely trying to make them more viable, especially since fatigue will introduced in WoTC, and SPARKs are immune to that particular mechanic.
Out of all the Chosen, I like this one's personality best. The way I'm reading it, he's being a good sport about all this, as opposed to the other two. They're all, "You're going back because my masters want it!" Meanwhile, this dude's mentality is, "Yeah, they want you back, but I'm going to find this battle of wits of ours fun." Also, he accepts that he does have vulnerabilities, and that we're going to kill him, while the others sell themselves as being omniscient creatures of all-powerful destruction. Out of all of the Chosen, the only one I'll look forward to fighting is the Hunter. After all, against him, we aren't opponents, so much as rivals.
yeah so basically say your best soldier gets critted out of nowhere and dies horribly, you just reload a save cuz you dont want that to happen. its kinda cowardly but *shrug* people do what they want
Anyone else legitimately scared at some of the shots he took there? I mean, I always loved long range assaults, but DAMNIT! He took it to a whole new level!
The Game Station I'm honestly terrified too if it's not enough a challenge on legend already not to worry we bring the chosen we call the legend difficulty a torture session and we make old legend feel like safety area
The Hunter is what happens when you mix Widowmaker and The Joker and infuse the combination with alien DNA. I shudder to think what he does to those who he captures...
He captures two of your soldiers ones a coronal and the other a rookie and you can only rescue one. Goes for the coronal its really the rookie and the cornal is killed. WHELP
Okay, that can't be real. I know the devs for XCOM are cruel but they wouldn't start that early. They let us build ourselves up first before they knock us down.
I don't think it's squadsight he can just see really far and if he locks onto a soldier he will fire later and no matter what not miss, so it's something far worse than squadsight, from what I can gather
I think they said that if you ignore the Chosen strongholds and don't kill them they all appear on the last mission fully powered up ready to fuck shit up.
I feel like he's going to kill us in slow motion like in sniper elite. But overall I would say this is the first guy I would fear, warlock second and the Asassin last.
anthony benigno assassin is scary because there is not a lot of things you can do to prevent her from smaking a soldier in the face and then retreating cause shadowstep. It forces you to go out of your way to hunt her down, possibly exposing yourself to other dangers. The hunter had a lot of range and a lot of mobility. He will usually knock out one of your soldiers instantly by shooting him (and most of the time critting), then will try to harrass until he has a good opportunity to throw a flashbang and capture your soldiers. The warlock so far is not that powerfull as long as you can deal with what he summons.
I see where this is going, Xcom 3 you got fucked again, the chosen kidnapped you once more. Now you have to fight an entire alien controlled solar system, Good Luck Commander
I laugh at how weak the human species is. Here they are, witnessing the most evolved creatures in the universe. Yet they worship a lowly reptilian for it's "reproductive features" if that's all humanity desires. I'm surprised the elders still keep them around for testing.
Wait. Three classes of enemy, including a Hunter and Warlock, and they can respawn after death and are granted powers via an alien gift. Oh god, they're Guardians from Destiny.
Hey Hunter, here's a flying suit. (Hunter puts flying suit on). GREMILN activates flying suit remote control. Slams Hunter headfirst into an acid pool then brings him really high up and self-destructs the flying suit
"I've lived a hundred lives...and at this rate I'll live a hundred more before they're done with me." Translation, "I'm an incompetent wretch who keep dying and who can't get the job done."
The best chosen, I don't know about you, but I freaking love this guy's voicelines, the assassin is a bitch and the warlock... well... let's just say Warlock? More like borelock
Hunter: You're not a top of a food chain in here, Reaper. Reapers: Well, this might give you a sting a little bit. Don't try aimbot me. Because you killed one of my Skirmishers, because of you. Hunter: That's slightly exaggerating. I hope you never make this too easy.
First time playing against this guy was a retaliation mission and the a.i. rebel teamates that guard the civilians pretty much killed him before he could do anything. He didnt inflict any damage on anyone.
StrikeNoir105E "meybe you should just load again"..........oh one hidden ability would be fun "so you like loading huh time to delete save files on the mission and put ironman on"
I'm pretty positive that these 3 alien bosses and the 3 hero soldiers will be rock paper scissors. Like we all know the Reaper does more damage to the Assassin, will this mean the Templar do more damage against the Hunter? Vise versa
Cooler 1478 actually that's not entirely how it works, the 'rock paper scissors' is randomly generated, each faction is opposing one chosen, it's not specific which faction and chosen are fighting Unless you already knew this in which case never mind this comment is unnecessary
So he's never really killed off for real AND he has a shot that goes through walls? Next you'll tell me he has "Ruler Reaction" and acts again everytime someone in your squad acts too.
After all this time playing he's certainly the most charismatic of all chosen. Recently I heard him telling my reaper he plans to take over for Volk. That shit's hilarious! 😂
Finally a level playing field when it comes to snipers. We have been able to abuse snipers for both EW and X2 ... I am looking forward to fighting an enemy who is as dangerous as my own snipers ... Let the counter sniper games begin!

How do you plan to take on the Hunter in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen?
XCOM waaaaait, can the rulers and the chosen be in one mission ?
XCOM So Chosens are truely not dead? Tunring back agian and again?
Apparently they said something along the lines of 'they shouldn't be in the same mission'. Knowing modders though....
This Commander has found his nemesis.
scream and cry
Well he seems like a nice guy
Raphael Goh i know right. he seem like a kind of person who crack open a cold one with humanity.
wet night well placed joke
pretty cool guy to be around with
I mean.. like Khan
Yeah kind of guy you invite to a BBQ
Yeah he is BFF material :P
You miss with 97%
He crit with 3%
"The entire squad is uphill in full cover. Fuck...."
On my first XCOM 2 playthrough my sniper missed a 94% shot, but later in a different mission she crit a 14% while disoriented.
never forget
Rngeesus probably gets kicks out of everyone's suffering and he's probably drinking couple of beers and wine up there somewhere laughing
Kordell Moe get a scope and accuracy sim
That's XCOM baby!
Shoots through two buildings to crit someone out of high cover?
Ok, but what are his special abilities? That's just normal Xcom.
Dapper Changeling apparently he has a huge area he can see if your anywhere in it he'll fire upon you and probably still hit cause that's xcom baby probably also get a critical hit
According to the devs he doesn't see a huge area, he actually sees ALL of the map, just that he's still limited to attacking in line of sight.
StrikeNoir105E Oh fuck.
StrikeNoir105E so he essentially has original xcom alien vision??? CRAPPPPPP!!!
I'm getting Frag85's death flashbacks... WHY?! Why you had to remind of the pain?!!!
I like this guy. I like this guy a lot. He seems surprisingly accepting regarding the possibility of a death he won't recover from.
Sure, the commander wouldn't be worth getting excited about if there was no possibility of death
Scryer yep
Scryer in the trailer I think he said that the elders gift allows him to come back from the dead. Meaning if you kill him he could come back into play or maybe I'm misinterpreting his words
Goku Smith sounds like how they explain that you can't take out a chosen for good until you kill them in their base.
hes edgy thats why
Aw man I just know he's gonna talk smack at me when my sharpshooter misses their 95% shot
"Were it me, that would have been a killing blow!"
SGT. JUNIA HAS PANICKED
"You should train that aim of yours" " i see now xcom has no true marksmen" "let me show you how to kill" entire squad panics
Alone Wolf Sparks won't panic.
IchiroFuma sparks sucks so bad that a low rank ranger is still better.

Imagine he prioritised your snipers lol
*Kills your sniper*
"Srry commander Too many chefs in the kitchen"
*Sniper misses*
"....my turn!"-hunter
Commander, all of your soldiers just got 360 noscoped.
The Happy Madman where's the mlg montage
Many 12-year old boys have run out to T-bag our soldiers' corpses and uploaded it to UA-cam, Commander.
oh HELL NO! i am NOT going back into the pod!
ANYTHING BUT THE POD
Whether you want to or not, you will return to the elders
You interested in joining X-com instead, you'll have plenty of stuff to hunt besides the elders are dicks anyways
Why dosent xcom just destroy that pod
@@thehunter2820 no.
wow the hunter has the ability "Save scum"!
All the Chosen have it.
save scumming?
Elijuh Tobler Save scumming is when people constantly reload their save files when they keep getting unwanted results.
yeah so basically say your best soldier gets critted out of nowhere and dies horribly, you just reload a save cuz you dont want that to happen. its kinda cowardly but *shrug* people do what they want
Azarith I'll admit, I have a habit of save scumming when something goes bad for my soldiers.
Anyone else legitimately scared at some of the shots he took there? I mean, I always loved long range assaults, but DAMNIT! He took it to a whole new level!
The Game Station I'm honestly terrified too if it's not enough a challenge on legend already not to worry we bring the chosen we call the legend difficulty a torture session and we make old legend feel like safety area
....I better go and complete Legend Ironman before this DLC comes out. Excuse me, as this totally is not me running away from the hunter....
I want to save him for last, he is my favorite so far. (Still wish I could bring him over to our side)
I mean, if you kill him you get to take his sniper rifle, so that sort of counts as recruiting him, right?
That i would like as well. I would have done the same with the viper king unfortantly instead of talking to him you have to kill him. :(
"Hunter, you remember what I said earlier?"
"You said you save me for last"
(Arnie impersonation) "I lied"
I lied
Honestly, I'd love to get a crack at my useless siblings. But not before I crush your feeble resistance.
why so serious , Commander
I make this soldier disappear tadaaa!!!!
Oh my god. They found out my secret weapon. The "Load Save" button
He broke the one rule of Xcom, "No Respawns," he must pay.
So, the aliens just recruited garrus.
And got him hooked on cigarettes by the sound of things.
The Great Skeletor Fuck, to have Archangel against us is a terrifying thought
"No way he can hit me"
0:55
*Reloads early save*
0:36 It's over Commander, I have the high ground
"You underestimate my soldiers! "
"Don't be an idiot"
The Hunter is what happens when you mix Widowmaker and The Joker and infuse the combination with alien DNA.
I shudder to think what he does to those who he captures...
He captures two of your soldiers ones a coronal and the other a rookie and you can only rescue one. Goes for the coronal its really the rookie and the cornal is killed. WHELP
Kyrie Lock w-what? So he tricks us?
If i recall correctly you get a chance at a rescue if some one gets captured by them.
Victor Tang anyone remember when joker beat Todd with a crowbar? I feel like that's gonna happen
Something tells me that when you attempt a rescue there will be a timer maybe remote or timed explosives
Holy shit. A sniper that doesn't die.
Lucas Ayres respawning in a nutshell
Hmm, sounds like Simö Häyhä
TF2 Sniper: Eh! What the bloody hell just happened?
Heheh, I like how he echos Bradford's "Good luck...Commader" at the end, even includes the pause!
A sniper, probably one that always has 100% , at least it can't be worse
SpyroTodile He can gain shields if your soldiers miss shots on him.
In short, He's fucking invincible.
Parallax77 nanomachines, son
Now I feel like playing MGRR.
Okay, that can't be real. I know the devs for XCOM are cruel but they wouldn't start that early. They let us build ourselves up first before they knock us down.
Second worst enemy of the player after rng... Squadsight aliens.
Well, he is the first enemy to have a squadsight
Oh right, I'm used to LW2 Snakes and Turrets
He can't use squadsight if his entire squad is dead ;)
I don't think it's squadsight he can just see really far and if he locks onto a soldier he will fire later and no matter what not miss, so it's something far worse than squadsight, from what I can gather
Goku Smith why do you say this and make me dread this enemy more?
He's such a cool character. I love how sceptical and somewhat defiant he is of the eldars.
Favourite quote from him
"I see you pay great attention to your soldiers, commander, but what about the civillians? How many of them have I killed?"
0:07 In this shot it looks like his rifle is a guitar and he's getting ready to play it.
god, I have this bad kind-a feeling that at some point, we have to fight against all three at once..
That's when an alien ruler will decide to show up.
Lord Ofel probably not in the base game but when long war mode updats. Well fuck
I think they said that if you ignore the Chosen strongholds and don't kill them they all appear on the last mission fully powered up ready to fuck shit up.
if you dont kill any of them then you will face all 3 during the final mission ...
at least they will try to kill each other... nahh wer fucked
I feel like he's going to kill us in slow motion like in sniper elite. But overall I would say this is the first guy I would fear, warlock second and the Asassin last.
Assassin probably has shadowstep.
anthony benigno assassin is scary because there is not a lot of things you can do to prevent her from smaking a soldier in the face and then retreating cause shadowstep. It forces you to go out of your way to hunt her down, possibly exposing yourself to other dangers. The hunter had a lot of range and a lot of mobility. Ok its looks like we're fucked
This is X-COM, since when we're not?
The entire premise of xcom 2 was that you were fucked so bad on the first game you lost the war
I see where this is going, Xcom 3 you got fucked again, the chosen kidnapped you once more. Now you have to fight an entire alien controlled solar system, Good Luck Commander
Wouldnt be XCOM without immeasurable odds against us and low ammo
Max Von Britannia I'd play it cause it's xcom and ya
Assassin: In it for the honor
Warlock: Because the Ethereals command it
Hunter: In it for the fun and sport
0:45 He's probably talking about the Avenger's snek... "problem"
I laugh at how weak the human species is. Here they are, witnessing the most evolved creatures in the universe. Yet they worship a lowly reptilian for it's "reproductive features" if that's all humanity desires. I'm surprised the elders still keep them around for testing.
The Hunter well that how Human work but atleats human great at war because we do that almost all the time
The Hunter those aren't "reproductive organs"...they're psychological weapons. Very poorly designed ones at that.
*viper tongue grab intensifies*
Wait. Three classes of enemy, including a Hunter and Warlock, and they can respawn after death and are granted powers via an alien gift.
Oh god, they're Guardians from Destiny.
Bright side, the Elders didn't bring a hammerbro.
Chosen: We are the chosen ones
XCOM: And we are XCOM
Chosen: We have the power of the elders
XCOM: We have flashbangs
Chosen: Oh fuck
Chosen: We've developed an Immunity to Flashbangs.
Chosen: We've learned to not shoot the blue holograms.
Templars: Your loss.
Xcom : We have DEUS VULT !
Spirit 885 we have combat protocol and and lots of grenades
No! Not the tank! Anything but the TANK!
I read that in Nicholas Cages voice to be honest. "Oh god! The tank! the tank! *screams*"
He has the most personality of any character in this entire game.
0:34 I mean, that soldier deserved to die. He wasnt even in cover.
I'VE GOT YOU IN MY SIGHTS
you mean "no one can hide from my sight"?
Tibor Sápi No.
overwatch solider 76
All your heads look 10 feet tall
Indeed
Sees video uploaded, clicks faster then a viper.
And no miss the target! :D
Jokes on you, I actually clicked on the wrong video because I was too fast xD
Molten Grimm Oh, That? That's Just Standard XCOM.
is it just me or is the commanders name spelled ...Commander... with the periods
"Come out, come out, wherever you are...Commander."
This tells me one thing: aliens have played Hide & Seek.
If it bleeds... we can kill it :D
Kryptic Studios Corp There's no need to restrict ourselves.
I eat Chosen for breakfast :D
Kryptic Studios Corp For the Great Commandy One!
Bleeds > Near death > Emergency Teleport back to base > Soldiers go to base > Kill Chosen > Destroy Lazarus Throne (heals chosen).
Hey Hunter, here's a flying suit. (Hunter puts flying suit on). GREMILN activates flying suit remote control. Slams Hunter headfirst into an acid pool then brings him really high up and self-destructs the flying suit
The Deadshot from the Xcom universe
0:39 shot through half cover
To be fair height advantage negates half cover.
@@AlphaOmega1237 yes, that's why half cover is useless, unless you want to negate the risk of a crit
I watched a video from Eurogamer in which they said that Nolan North is voicing the Hunter. Now I can't unhear it.
if he doesn't have any abilities to delete my save files, he's just a big talker
truong giang duong Beware the old MGS PS1 final boss.
Ever time I hear a chosen speak all that comes out is "kill me kill me kiiiiiilllll me"
Masochist like people who play the game.... Like me !
"I've lived a hundred lives...and at this rate I'll live a hundred more before they're done with me."
Translation, "I'm an incompetent wretch who keep dying and who can't get the job done."
No Elder fanaticism, only a job, only a hunt. I like this.
This guy is officially my favourite.
I can feel the rage already. This expansion looks insane!
The best chosen, I don't know about you, but I freaking love this guy's voicelines, the assassin is a bitch and the warlock... well... let's just say Warlock? More like borelock
Tbh, he was fun to play against. The assassin still gives me nightmares.
My favorite Chosen.
I would live one hundred lives
And I would live one hundred more
Just to be the chosen who desires
Nerf in patch or boost before
-huehuehue
A DLC worthy of a purchase I like it...
My favourite chosen.
Ooo, I like this one.
I say that now, but I'm probably going to change my mind as soon as kills a whole squad from 50 miles away.
IncendiumUrsa nah he just shoots our squads before the mission starts
He sounds like a friendly guy!
Megatron is that you?
GET BACK IN THE TANK COMMANDER
*NYO*
I'm actually so happy with how Saturday morning cartoon this expansion is looking.
Oh hey, Nolan North
Don't worry, Hunter. I'm sure Dr. Vahlen will do her best to keep you "entertained" in her lab.
My favorite of the bunch instantly.
"Come out come out where ever you are commander" i liked him a lot now i just love him i can't wait to meet him hahaha
Simply cannot wait...
Considering that Nolan North voices this guy, I'm waiting to see if he has any 4th-wall breaking lines in the game.
StrikeNoir105E "Good luck, Commander"?
"Do you feel like a hero yet?"
StrikeNoir105E "ever heard of a save button?"
StrikeNoir105E "meybe you should just load again"..........oh one hidden ability would be fun "so you like loading huh time to delete save files on the mission and put ironman on"
Alone Wolf Damn it Flowey. Get out of my xcom. Lol
Let me guess, this guy will always have a 1000% hit chance at you even if you are in cover behind three walls .
jvjd he can hit your soldiers even when they are at home at your base
Alexis Leskinen Goodbye, Central.
Alexis Leskinen he shoots entire Base before you can do anything
There's no place for your kind to hide
i guess the chosen could be concealed too ... GREEEEAAAT !
Hey, the tank was warm and cozy and he's being really nice about it so....
I like him, can we recruit him also, will this game get a complete edition after all of the DLC comes out?
www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/723
Can't wait to hear more about these "Elders' Gifts"...
I'm pretty positive that these 3 alien bosses and the 3 hero soldiers will be rock paper scissors. Like we all know the Reaper does more damage to the Assassin, will this mean the Templar do more damage against the Hunter? Vise versa
Cooler 1478 actually that's not entirely how it works, the 'rock paper scissors' is randomly generated, each faction is opposing one chosen, it's not specific which faction and chosen are fighting
Unless you already knew this in which case never mind this comment is unnecessary
I killed him with my Deadpool. What an irony...
This guy feels like he'd be right at home among the Hirogen from Star Trek: Voyager since both like to hunt prey they find challenging.
He's my favorite
This guy looks terrifying to go up against. Say goodbye to at least 1 or more troops in that battle!
I fuckin love this guy
I like him. Can we keep him?
Good luck, I'm behind 7 Colonels.
*he miss*
Me: ah you miss
Hunter: i did it on purpose
Me: ... he lie or he was true...
RNG is going to love this guy, I can already feel it.
Firaxis, could you, please, add a "tea bag" feature?
im sure theres a mod for that...
There isn't, surprisingly.
So he's never really killed off for real AND he has a shot that goes through walls?
Next you'll tell me he has "Ruler Reaction" and acts again everytime someone in your squad acts too.
I give it two months before there's a mod where you can recruit him.
stalhein61 Please. I give it a week.
www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/723 1year
After all this time playing he's certainly the most charismatic of all chosen.
Recently I heard him telling my reaper he plans to take over for Volk.
That shit's hilarious! 😂
'Back in your tank'? Is the commander really an ethereal?
Now that what I call a badass!
0:50 - 1:01 confirmation of LOS hax haha everyone knows how notorious the los is in this game :D
Finally a level playing field when it comes to snipers. We have been able to abuse snipers for both EW and X2 ... I am looking forward to fighting an enemy who is as dangerous as my own snipers ... Let the counter sniper games begin!
It'll sound weird, but I...like this dude? He's cool.
I really hope that will affects how much knowledge the chosen get when they capture a solider
too much info will cause them to shoot down your ship and enter a Priority Defense Mission. It will also cause them to upgrade their gear, unlock new abilities, and abilities faster.
Of all the Chosen, this one seems...the most vanilla of all.
atleast his personality is fun
I love all these intros! Can't wait!
I do want his amour
thanks for russian subtitles, ох уже представляю, как он достанет
