Took me years to realise how much Weller was influenced by Village Green Preservation Society: the escalating riff during Steam Powered Train is in A Bomb In Wardour Street, and Johnny Thunders surely influenced part of In The Crowd. Totally inspired influence.

Record turned off and returned to rumbelows and my dad swapped it for Wings greatest hits....i was gutted but I got a decent story out of it and to be honest ... I think I'd listen to wings more these days...lol

I grew up with them, surely on e of the best but with this they missed it, the original version is more elegant, sarcastic and brilliant, there's no other than the Kinks, sorry Paul....................

I was lucky enough to see them live many times. People today have no idea how good they were!
I luckily did discover them in early 78 when living in West London. Changed my life!
