Matin, Have you tried singing in English? How is your weightlifting and are you still going to the gym 6 days a week? love you bro!!!! Keeping you in my daily prayers!!!!
Excellent advice. I’m a native English speaker but am now at intermediate/advanced level French and exactly the same advice applies. But the “translating in your head” thing is very difficult to avoid but, as I progressed, it became easier….. it’s the closest thing to immersion other than living in the country whose language you’re learning. In daily living I try to “think” in French by using French words for everything I see and do and, when I’m talking to myself (which I do a lot 😂) I do it in French as much as possible. Your English is pretty much perfect and you’re very articulate. Accents are essential…. it adds flavour and colour to a language and I totally love non-native English speakers speaking English with their own accent. I also would never expect people to speak “perfect” English (correct grammar, tenses etc). Language is about communication, making connections and relationships not about stressing out and judging. ❤️👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Martin. You remind me of my father,he passed away in the year 2011,his name was Mantin too,he was beautiful as you are. First time I met you on you tube,it's true about everything you are saying about learning English,I learned a long time ago,I went to school for a while and as you said it,it takes a very long time to lesrn it,it's been 40 years and I am still learning it,I had a friend 35.yesrs ago she was going to school to learn english, one day she was not too happy because she was not learning english fast enough as she wanted,I said to her,you should thank god because english and spanish have the same ABC,a lot of people that come from a lot of countries don't have the same ABC,AS WE DO,they have to lesrn the ABC,is like learning another language, two languages at the same time, she was in shock about it,then she said to me,it's true thank you God,it must be very hard for them too,and more than for us,I said to her stop complaining about it,don't stop going to school, she never complained about it again. I grew up introverted and consuming an UNHEALTHY amount of american media. Even if I had no one to speak to and did not learn it at school, I found myself acquiring the language naturally. Btw I thought the same happened to your cause you speak perfectly ❤ love you.
I just came across your UA-cam channel a few days ago, but have already watched several of your videos & find them both interesting & well put together. As for accents, I think your method of improving your English is very sensible. Your English seems very good to me & whilst if I heard your voice alone, without seeing your face and what you have revealed about your background, I would have known you are not a native speaker, but it’s obvious your English is very good indeed & that you speak it idiomatically. I don’t detect a particular American or Canadian or indeed British or even Australian accent, I’d say your accent is pretty neutral. It so happens my own partner, my husband of around 8 years (we met around 11 years ago) is also a non-native English speaker, in his case he is Chinese and now speaks almost flawless English, again with only a slight accent. He tells me that some of the materials he used when learning English in school were of American origin, some of British origin, whether written or audio recordings & DVDs. Whilst he did his first degree in Beijing, subsequent degrees (around 4 so far) have all been in the UK & of course in English. His English was already pretty good when I first met him, but has improved hugely in later years and we have a system between us that if I use an idiomatic expression he’s not familiar with he will ask me to explain its meaning, although lately this is rarely necessary as he knows English so well he can generally understand the meaning from the context, but may just ask for clarification. I know that long before he first came to the UK he was a voracious reader of English-language novels in Chinese translations, often followed up by reading those novels in English translation or just reading them in English straight away, without too much need to look at his dictionary. I have undergone the same process in reverse with the foreign languages I know (French, Arabic, Spanish, Vietnamese) a couple very fluently, the other two adequately but less well. Your advice not to back-translate to/from one’s native language is one I have always tried to follow and my husband I’m pretty certain does similarly when speaking or writing English. Another important thing he did was not to socialise only with other students in the UK from China (which a lot of these students do in our experience), but with British students and people generally, plus students from other countries, whether places like Singapore, Australia, India or various parts of Africa etc, all of whom speak English well, although with different accents - so this helps improve his own English language flexibility. I’m looking forward to watching more of your video-clips 👍😀.
Great advice!!!! You English is very good!!!!! I remember when I was required to speak English in United States. I avoided translating in my mind from my mother language.
I have studied a lot of languages, and I benefited from a German professor who reminded us that we don't understand everything that's said to us in our native language. Also, he pointed out that you can make a mistake with every single word and still be understood. For instance, the secretary of State for the United States of America was Henry Kissinger, and he couldn't speak English. Literally, he screws up every sentence. But because of his command of vocabulary and his understanding of word order, he was able to reach the highest levels of English speaking society. When I'm speaking Spanish or French or German, I know I'm making massive mistakes with the verbs and prepositions, but I also know that I'm being understood. And most European people take pity on me and speak English with me 😮
Good on you that is a big accomplishment and achievement but if anything I know how the feeling is being English is my second language but if anything you have a hot accent so makes you special good advice about learning English like I always say your a Angel 😇
This is great! I have a friend who learned English on his own, starting from Swiss German. I never understood how he did it, but you explained it perfectly. Some of the phrases you have used recently suggest that you are having lots of conversations in Canada now, because they are more likely to be spoken than written. That also shows how well you are immersing yourself in English.

I disagree totally with your views on accents. I taught English for many years in Egypt...I am Scottish...none of my students ended-up sounding Scottish! By learning a language you will find your own accent when you speak it but you will never sound 100% British or American - and why should you? Your indiginous accent is part of you, something to be proud of. When I speak Arabic or German or French I don't sound like a native because my own accent will always come through no matter how strongly or how slightly. I see you as a 'native speaker of English' - what I mean by that is that in my opinion your English is excellent and as good as anyone born in the UK...BUT...you may have chosen to adopt an American or Canadian 'twang' [there's a word!] but I can hear that you are not American or Canadian. Actors actually changed their accent for a play and if you close your eyes you could believe they are truly from that country or region. That is a totally different thing because they are working towards NONE of their own accent coming through. That's acting. I adore you, on many many levels; and as I said in the earlier comments I actually think you would be a wonderful English teacher - if you do start teaching, just please don't concentrate on allowing your students to have to think they have to 'sound' American or British or Canadian or Australian or whatever in order to reach the level of 'native speaker'.
Thank you for the information❤️ it was really valuable! I also agree with you on accents, as I added in the video, I find them to be cute and prefer people to have them. I just added that tip because people asked me about it. And I definitely believe being fluent in English has nothing to do with accents as well.
sounds fun,i have been trying to learn my second language Italian for 2 years, and for now I can understand most of the native speaker says but when it for my turn it just feels really hard for me wanna express what I wanna say like my mind can answer fluently but when i need to speak end with speechless and embarrassing
Your English is very clear and I like your accent. I can naturally understand almost everything, but I'm still struggling when it comes to actually speaking to other people. Thank you for your tips, Matin 🩷

i love u...lolol
Im trying to learn Spanish and I'm using Duolingo which helps a lot. I find I get it wrong a lot of the time especially the speaking excercises but I enjoy doing it every day 😁. I like your tips of immersing yourself so Im gonna try that. Thanks Matin! 🤗
That’s great to know. Actually, I’m learning Spanish too on Duolingo ! I love this language , I find it very sexy haha. Have a nice day ❤
Portuguese is my mother language and despite being similar to Spanish even I struggle with speaking, Spanish grammar is also very particular and dense.
@@massiaidrous2326you guys are making me want to learn Spanish as well😅 I also find it to be really sexy😆
Wish you lots of luck with learning Spanish 🫶🏻 I also use Duolingo but for learning Japanese! It’s such a blessing of an app😭 and you’re welcome always❤️
@@matraeisi 3 "Love" languages are French, Spanish, and Italian
wouldn’t it make more sense to make this video in your mother tongue cuz if people are learning that would be easier maybe?
i’m probably wrong
oh and he also talked about not consuming mother tongue content lol
this video would be mostly helpful for those who are already intermediate level but lack in the speaking area!
If you want to hear me speak Farsi I can make a video in the future😁 just let me know❤️
Damn this guy is hot 😆
سلام حال شما چطور😀
Salam Chetori👋
سلام، عالی مرسی😘 تو چطوری؟
@@matraeisi من خوبم از آشنایی با شما خوشحالم ویدیوهای عالی، ممنون از به اشتراک گذاری آنها.🥰
People who have more than one language do have more neurons in their brain.
Those veins in your hand 🥵
Lol I just noticed😭 thanks😘
sounds fun,i have been trying to learn my second language Italian for 2 years, and for now I can understand most of the native speaker says but when it for my turn it just feels really hard for me wanna express what I wanna say like my mind can answer fluently but when i need to speak end with speechless and embarrassing
Your English is very clear and I like your accent. I can naturally understand almost everything, but I'm still struggling when it comes to actually speaking to other people. Thank you for your tips, Matin 🩷
Thank you for the compliment on my English Lucas🥹❤️ I’m glad you found the tips to be helpful, wish you lots of luck and progress with your speaking🫶🏻
One thing I hate about life is that when I genuinely tried to get in contact with people that I like to seem like it’s either I can’t get in contact with them or they just not interesting. I’ve literally been DM you from Instagram and Twitter I’m trying to have a conversation with you and get to know you, I don’t know if you see my message
Greetings Matin, I watched your coming out video and thought it was great. I sent you a message and friend request on Facebook. Hope to hear from you.
