Great advice for locking in with the beat.....D.B. Got an exit line for ya.......and we'll see you back here next time....ON THE FRETBOARD!..... THANK YOU.
There's also a lot to say about siblings who play together. I play bass and my brother plays guitar and we click in ways that doesn't happen with other musicians
This video could not be more important for people just starting a band. Mine didnt exactly work out, and the issue was on both sides, at different times in that chapter of life.
@@lighterwaves5659 in the first part of this, i was on congas, trying to coach this concept to the drummer, who wanted his own spotlight more or less. Then we downsized the band and i was on drums. The second time when i was on drums, the bass player developed the same issue, although not as bad, he couldnt pull off the solo style of playing. In my opinion, he worked too hard on fills, and constant motion, and not enough on song structure, to actually have something to fill in. He did however have good skill for being mostly self taugh and very young, like 19 years old
What was that at 00:12 through 00:18 I get the rythm, but I'm hearing something that sounds like heavy staccato 16th notes and some kinda up beat. It sounds so amazing. How are you doing this?
Daric, can you please upload that whole song you guys played? Watching you actually play and not teach is actually inspiring and a good tool and motivator for us as well. Please upload this video, and a few others lol.
Mr Daric! Please do a break down the bass line of Dua Lipa's song "Don't Start Now". It's right up the alley of this topic. I'm sure your subs would love a break down with your flavor! Thanks in advance. 🙏👍🙏
I've been playing for a long time but kind of always struggled counting while playing. My question is, say when you're like ripping a solo for example, are u counting the whole time? I find it very easy to lose track of the count when u play something that isn't totally locked in
Locking in with the drummer is key to a tight groove
Bass & Drummer combo is the foundation of any Band🤙

Totally agree, i practiced drums to have a better understanding of that!
I think DB and Gramps of Modern Heritage are brothers! Striking resemblance.
Yeap, Drum & Bass must lock! 👌🏿
Good ideas from Deric on bass drum 🥁 connection
