Seattle DC seems like a perfect opportunity for a young coach to grow and a bad situation for an experienced coach. Drude will work every day with the position coaches and players. I imagine he will be preparing the team for each game. He will have more time to develop talent and ensure preparedness, do lots of individual coaching. He will in turn learn from some of the best. I'm afraid that a really experienced DC would end up being a too many cooks in the kitchen situation.

We need a OC that has done it before not a college dude who has never coached in the NFL. The OC will be doing so much with the offense during Mike's first year while he focus on the defense so I do not know why people want these college coach's that have never coached in the NFL.

I think fans would be happy with those guys...they'd also be happy is Drake Maye or Caleb Williams fell to 16 but that's not happening. Everyone has their guys, and their hopeful outcomes. That's not bias, that's just having fun with football. Just like so many fans we're rooting for Joey Porter Jr to go to the Steelers. He's a good player available in their range and a pretty cool story. Just enjoy the game and don't get picky on fans who are looking to do the same man. :)

with all the new additions to the staff i think it’s safe to say discipline is the main agenda this time around. which will be an absolute great thing considering we have a young team and we have a star hot head. as for Durde i like it a lot. guys like taylor, mafe, and hall may need a guy like durde to come along and give them the rest of the pieces to their puzzle

Kelly’s got a co-coordinator in Brian Hartline who might be looking for what’s next. Like to bring him on as a receivers coach and maybe offensive pass game coordinator. It would be worth an interview given what he’s done with the OSU receivers the past few years.

I just don't think that Ryan Grubb is a step up from Shane Waldron. I thought we ran some really tight offensive plays last year, given that Geno had less than 3 seconds to get rid of the ball. That split TE crossing play in the SF game that had Kyle Shanahan looking dumbfounded was beautiful. (and yes, I know Waldron actually stole that play from Shanahan) Waldron had a lot of really nice sets and play designs. We just never saw them used more than a few times a game. If we hire Grubb, I wish him luck and I'm rooting for him. He can't run that "throw to the first read in 2 seconds" offense in the NFL. So hopefully Grubb is a genius and he comes up with something entirely new. (IF we hire him) Give me Engstrand and let's try to deal with whatever interpersonal issues he has.

I question any OC or DC from the college ranks, except from Michigan. So, we have a new HC with no NFL experience as a HC; a new DC with no NFL experience as a DC. And now, a new OC with no NFL experience as an OC. I am concerned. Thank goodness Chip was not hired, as the PAC Conference averaged giving up 500 yards a game. OCs in college are not worthy.

Could they have found a guy who was less qualified? This is the defensive coordinator position for the team everybody wants to be a part of...there was no coach in college or the pros with a more impressive resume than this guy? I mean, if he were some kid genius with a bunch of brilliant ideas I could understand hiring him even with a bad resume, but he isn't that either: he seems to be just a poor man's Dan Quinn.

Why would you possibly be disappointed about not having Chip Kelly?? He is the most overrated coach in recent memory...He has never won anything significant at any level. His offense doesn't work at all, in the NFL. It doesn't even work that well in college anymore... And maybe even more important than all. He is a very unlikable, arrogant A-hole.
People really need to learn how to separate hype/hope or WANT, from simple reality. .. Wanting something to be true that isn't. Usually just ends up destroying everything.

Yeah thats kinda how i see and remember kelly as well but everyone seemed so excited about getting him so i figured he was just way better than i remembered lol
