GOOD Stuff, Michelle. I added a second external battery to my Nanrobot D6+. Despite the weight mounted to the stem, which is stable and almost better, it increased torque by 20% but better, it extended my range by more than double. The two batteries are wired in parallel. Full charge is 58.2 and after 30 mile run, it reads 54.0 or "one bar" of energy. So much fun!
Nice idea but sadly not practical, as the power bank would have to be huge to put anything meaningful back into the scooter. It would be very heavy and you would need a rucksack just to carry it with you. So not worth it. What would revolutionise eScooting would be a rapid charging battery that would take minutes to charge instead of 5 hrs, then you could just carry a lightweight charger with you and recharge your eScooter during that lunch stop.
Great tips - my battery and scooter are only A couple of weeks old, so this was very timely. I’ve been putting the scooter on the charger as soon as I arrived home - so the battery is definitely well used as my rides are typically about 20 miles - a couple of hours as I usually run Gear 1 for more than half and switch to Gear 2 for the more significant uphill climbs coming home. I’ll start waiting a bit before plugging in.
I play the 80/20 rule. I try to keep it charged UNDER 100 percent when not riding it - I never let it fall below 20 percent. Lithium batteries are like rubber bands. If you keep it stretched for a long period of time, it will eventually weaken or break. If you leave it under charged for a long time, the battery will lose energy and weaken. If I charge it fully, I ride it immediately, to decrease the battery strain. I charge in my home, where it's regular temp. I usually have a window open or my fan running. Never charge immediately after riding, LET it cool. I do this with my Jackery and westinghouse generators that use the same type of batteries. Generally, try to keep it above 20, and below or around 80.

Charge to about 60% for long term storage and yeah, check the level once a month. Also, my always plugged in MSI Gaming Laptop keeps the battery at around 50 to 60% so that's more confirmation of your advice.

Hello, I purchased a new Pure Air Scooter recently and I noticed that after riding it for around 4miles (at speed mode) my battery's at 1 bar from fully charged. Is this normal or do I need to visit the nearest Pure store so it could be checked out? Thank you!
No need to overthink it. All decent e-scooters will have a battery management controller to prevent depleting the battery or overcharging. In general, it's not good to drain lithium batteries to zero but the scooter should not allow that unless you leave it idle for months. It's also not ideal to keep your batteries topped off at full capacity. Lithium batteries last longest at 50% charge. If you're not using the scooter, don't leave the charger plugged in. Also, trickle charging is a waste of time. Once your scooter says it's charged, you're good to go. Squeezing that last 1% is not worth the time unless you have OCD.

I have a dual motor 2000 Watt scooter with Samsung batteries. I'm assuming going hard on grass would stress the power train out more than normal full throttle riding on asphalt, right? Or was that designed into the power specification? I'm particularly concerned by the battery pack suffering hard amp drains from the juice required to traverse taller grass.
You say dont depleat the battery then in the next tip you should discharge them every 5-6 charges? How do i discharge the batteries? And what percentage should they be discharged to?
Hi Nicholas, we always recommend keeping your battery charged up at every opportunity. Regular charging is better for overall battery health and will help to increase the lifespan of the battery. Hope this helps! Thanks
It's ok to keep the scooter on charge overnight because the charger stops charging after the scooter reaches 100% you'll see the charger LED light turns green meaning the scooter is fully charged.
Actually the battery in our phones are very similar to those in our scooters. The ones in our phones are lithium polymer batteries. The polymer lets you form the battery in different shapes, so it can fin in this slim piece of tech. In the scooters are lithium ion batteries. These are cheaper than polymer but offer a very similar experience to the polymer. They are only in a cillindrical shape but the size and thikness cam vary from one to the other model. The most famous of these types is the 18650 Li-ion battery. The charging habit should be the same with both, meaning it is best to stay between 20-80% charge and it doesn't like the cold so if under ~5°C you should store it inside.
Yes it's a similar technology, except that the phone batteries are high density batteries intended to charge up to 4.35-4.45v depending on the battery (now they are 4.45v the vast majority), the 18650 batteries of scooters are basic density lithium and charge at 4.2v

Good video but the bit about keeping the charge above 50% and then in the next breathe saying to fully discharge every 5/10 charge cycles doesn't make sense to me. Other people have asked the same question but I am afraid I don't fully understand your reply. You suggest for optimum battery life keep it above 50% charge. And for maximum longevity fully discharge and recharge every 5/10 cycles. Is optimum battery life not exactly the same as maximum longevity? Could you explain the difference please? I note that one is more longer journeys with more battery usage but it isn't clear at all. An explanation rather than just reciting text from the presentation would be helpful. BTW all your videos are great, but this charge/discharge fully thing is doing my head in
Had to stop the video at to VERY point. I just got a gen 2 Ninebot Max. Most reviews seem to mention the 1st gen scooter dialing back power at the 50% capacity in the battery. Haven’t had much time before the snow fall to see any performance drop below that halfway mark of this is the same with gen 2. I feel this might be a factor involved with a specific fail safe in a certain model a brand brings to market that conflicts making the most out of that full change when using your scooter.
The "fully discharge tip" is a holdover myth from the ni-cad battery tech days. Lithium batteries should never be discharged completely. Doing so may destroy the cells. That's why the battery management system will tell you the battery is drained while still maintaining a safe charge level. Lithium cells are happiest at 50%. That's why mobile phones ship with 50% charge and not 100%.
On the Pure brand scooters the AC adapter led will turn green once it’s fully charged. This turns the charger off automatically so don’t worry about it leaving it connected. You’ll noticed there’s zero heat coming from the AC adapter once it’s fully charged letting you know it is actually off.
Hi, I just got my InMotion L9 today and I'm charging it for the first time. Should I just charge it until the charger says it's charged or keep it charging for a couple of hours longer? I'm asking because that's what they write in some places about charging brand new, never used before escooter for the first time. Please, if somebody knows, let me know.
Hi there, all the e-scooters that we sell have an automatic cut off in the battery management system that will stop charging when the battery is full. We always recommend keeping your battery charged up at every opportunity. Regular charging is better for overall battery health and will help to increase the lifespan of the battery.
I’m confused someone commented only charge 80% My Segway Ninebot F30S is new it’s been well over another hour since my display said full charged….the brick is still in red. So do I wait to see if brick charger will go green….or 80% like my Apple phone …..not maxing the charges for longer life….I’m just confused 🤔 Update finally almost 2 hours later the charger turned green…that was a lot more of an additional charge than the scooter display stated….WOW.
I fully charged my pure air go before use and yet I only get 5miles max before battery is drained ? So kind of impossible for me not to deplete me battery..
I always use a fan that blows on both the chargers and the scooters while using them and in the winter I put a blanket over the battery compartment of the scooter to keep it as warm as possible
Wow, I did not know that about the drain-charge percentage. I always thought it was a...do a full drain then charge full so the battery gets that full life drain-charge memory. Glad I watched this before getting my scooter. (Apollo Ghost)

To be fair I love the air3 pro but it only lasted 9 months, they struggle with hill climb but are able, not excellent like it claims, but they are one of the only scooters that actually are able to handle British rain. Mine may not of lasted but it didn't stop me from getting another one, I'm keeping the old one and fixing at a later date for a back up. They really are imo the best out there within the same category, smooth and easy all round, if I were to change anything, it would be to add suspension, as the rides can get quite bumpy, overall I'd give this a 4star, for 5, would need to bit better on the wire finishes, as in, some of the rubber isn't touching so water will eventually get in, hill climb to be a bit more power, as it struggles on 16% hilclimb claims wheight up to 120kilo I'm 49 kilos, when terrain is smooth, and suspension as some cycle tracks are bumby and can leave your wrists and knees with a vibration feeling after. I've got 8 scooters, ranging from chaos 1600,, chaos freestyle 2800, and 1 pure air3 pro, 1 air3 pro+ and a couple of segways, the air3 pro's are by far the most reliable and don't need as much maintenance as the faster ones, and even though the others claim water protection of some kind, they are not, pure are able to handle the rain.

It's ok to keep the scooter on charge overnight because the charger stops charging after the scooter reaches 100% you'll see the charger LED light turns green meaning the scooter is fully charged.
Hi, after some weeks/ months of use would you say the mileage kept up to what’s it’s specified ?
Love the filming at FBC, never thought this is where I’d see this car park here!
How can I remove speed limiter on the pure scooter?
You can’t. All scooters have a speed limit lmao
@@l750z_6 no shit but alot of scooters u can remove the limiter on
Actually the battery in our phones are very similar to those in our scooters. The charging habit should be the same with both, meaning it is best to stay between 20-80% charge and it doesn't like the cold so if under ~5°C you should store it inside.
indeed your correct 80% is the lit
hello my escooter has 5 bars so how many bars is equivalent to 80%
Yes it's a similar technology, except that the phone batteries are high density batteries intended to charge up to 4.35-4.45v depending on the battery (now they are 4.45v the vast majority), the 18650 batteries of scooters are basic density lithium and charge at 4.2v
Is Your E-Scooter is a Segway? Or NineBot? Great tips.. please upload more info's about this... planning to get my own personal mobility vehicle... A Segway NineBot Max... From Asia The Philipines....
Is it bad for my scooter if I fully charged my it but I haven't used it like 5 or more months?
Yes, you should have used it to around 60% and then store it.
Very helpful, I appreciate. keep more videos coming
Thanks for watch and for the comment. Have you seen our video on how to maximise the range from your electric scooter? ua-cam.com/video/OgslLBASRE4/v-deo.html
I left my E-Scooter in the Garage.
Now it won't charge.
What can I do?
I like in Phoenix Arizona and have been wanting a qiewa q1 power.it gets very hot temperature and I appreciate this video in all.thank you for the tips.i might not of already known.😉
is it good to have one in humid and hot weathers (+37 C)?
Hi i have a xiaomi mi 1s and my range with a full battery cycle is 30-31km and now is 27 how to fix them?
Did e scooter was not to expose hot weather like here in Saudi Arabia 😁hope you can answer my question..thanks😊
One question you didn’t cover: do you leave your scooter plugged into charger while storing it once fully charged ?
On the Pure brand scooters the AC adapter led will turn green once it’s fully charged. This turns the charger off automatically so don’t worry about it leaving it connected. You’ll noticed there’s zero heat coming from the AC adapter once it’s fully charged letting you know it is actually off.
Hi, I just got my InMotion L9 today and I'm charging it for the first time. Should I just charge it until the charger says it's charged or keep it charging for a couple of hours longer? I'm asking because that's what they write in some places about charging brand new, never used before escooter for the first time. Please, if somebody knows, let me know.
you should follow the instructions. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call customer service or wright them email.
Please do a review on the Aova pro electric scooter!
Does anyone know how long the 500w scooter £449 lasts on each speed mode
Thanks for you. Do you stock Inokim quick 4 chargers? I can't find mine 😩 so need to replace it.
Search on their website Pure Electric
Hi, I have a question do I have to charge my electric scooter to 100 % every time?
Hi there, all the e-scooters that we sell have an automatic cut off in the battery management system that will stop charging when the battery is full. We always recommend keeping your battery charged up at every opportunity.
Regular charging is better for overall battery health and will help to increase the lifespan of the battery.
thanks
I’m confused someone commented only charge 80%
My Segway Ninebot F30S is new it’s been well over another hour since my display said full charged….the brick is still in red.
So do I wait to see if brick charger will go green….or 80% like my Apple phone …..not maxing the charges for longer life….I’m just confused 🤔
Update finally almost 2 hours later the charger turned green…that was a lot more of an additional charge than the scooter display stated….WOW.
I fully charged my pure air go before use and yet I only get 5miles max before battery is drained ? So kind of impossible for me not to deplete me battery..
For the last tip on going off when the charger say it's full how are you meant to do that with the ninebot max
well the ninebot max doesnt have a power brick so just use the display
I always use a fan that blows on both the chargers and the scooters while using them and in the winter I put a blanket over the battery compartment of the scooter to keep it as warm as possible
Thanks for the tips.👏✌
Thanks for the comment. Are there any video's you'd like to see us do next?
Great information clearly & pleasantly presented. 👍👏
Glad it was helpful!
Vielen Dank für die Information ℹ️ Super 👍
Il est possible d avoir les vidéo en français
Wow, I did not know that about the drain-charge percentage. I always thought it was a...do a full drain then charge full so the battery gets that full life drain-charge memory. Glad I watched this before getting my scooter. (Apollo Ghost)
I’ve been looking at HEAPS of battery charge videos. I STILL CANT WORK OUT when to charge! Some say run down to 30% then charge up to 80% .And here is charge till light is green which is more than 80% on my scooter…..mmmmm
Just ordered a xiaomi S1 thanks to your review , thanks for the help
That's great to hear! Keep us in the loop with how you're getting on with your scooter.
How much kwh in average scooter uses for one charge during one charge time ? (I want to calculate how much is the cost of 1 charge for today's electricity prices)
Stay away from pure electric. Its gold, but really its gold plated.
@@renegade-master29 The scooter in the video is pure electric. What i mean is Pure electric the shop is not good they say they're good but really they are not.
@@renegade-master29 I had the one that was 37.5 mile distance wooden board one and i was only getting 18 mile+ max i sent it back 3 days later got me 700£ back.
Thanks for the info!
I've got 8 scooters, ranging from chaos 1600,, chaos freestyle 2800, and 1 pure air3 pro, 1 air3 pro+ and a couple of segways, the air3 pro's are by far the most reliable and don't need as much maintenance as the faster ones, and even though the others claim water protection of some kind, they are not, pure are able to handle the rain.
anybody got a hack for PURE AIR PRO LR ?
I have a pure electric scooter air and it never gets to 100% on the app it only goes to 99% is it and bug on the app or is the battery messing about?
Hi there, that doesn't sound right... sorry to hear you're having issues with your E-scooter! Please drop us an email to help@pureelectric.com with your PO number and we will look into this for you - thanks!
excellent video!
Glad you liked it! Are there any particular videos you'd like to see us do next?
Can I turn it off and ride it like a usual scooter?
Many can be ridden with the motor off, but they are pretty heavy and some have decks that are higher than a normal scooter so you wouldn't want to go far that way. ~Michelle
Why does my new pure air only charge to 99% please michelle
Mine stuck on 98 was on for hours
no response necessary
I have an off road electri scooter with dual electric the motors, it can reach speeds up to 50, to 55 MPH, the battery that came with the scooter is already losing charge to quickly. the battery that came with the scooter is an 60v 20. 8AH. Can I replace this scooter battery with another stronger battery? If yes, how much higher can I go? 🔋🛴👈😁
It's the "ah" that decides how long your battery lasts.
Can often get batteries of much higher "ah:" but maybe bigger
I have an Pure Air model. Would Pure ever make a e scooter capable of doing 30mph? There are other e scooter manufacturers that make them.
At the moment, all our scooters are set at 15.5mph and we do not have any plans of changing this in the foreseeable future.
Had my scooter around a month now and the battery don't hold charge that well attall dies so quickly and it's a new scooter :(
Just what j needed ! Thanks !
Guys help me my max speed of the pure escooter was going up to 25 speed and not it has decreased the speed to 15 what do I do
Hey there - have you changed the speed mode to the fastest speed setting?
So i didnt ride the scooter chsrged it till the brick was green then unplugged it and next morning put it on charge to check and the brick was red
any tips to rideing in snow or icey area?
Don't do it.
Don’t. I broke my arm because I turned a corner and it was snowy icy and I fell off.
@@KayKapone1 ouch,that sounds very painful.
Thanks for this , thats why my xiaomi escooter is low because of cold weather
I treat my electronic scooter like my mobile phone..
..never let it go too flat and never over charge it...👌
Just got my Air Pro so very helpful tips! I have noticed the battery performance is down about half of what it was in this very hot weather. I got a very annoying flashing E800 on the display when switched on!
Also noticed this today on mine. Does this mean the battery is on it's way out?
@@cutefacejay6703 I was told by Pure that the E800 code sometimes causes a battery issue!
@@chalkbrown8060 E100 mine is giving and they just gave me a shipping label when I gave them pics said they will give me a replacement while their engineers investigate the error. They seem to be tight lipped on error codes when I asked for a list. Or they don't have any LOL.
Every e-scooter batteries like all rechargeable batteries are consumable batteries that become less effective as they age
If your e scooter lets you see the battery health maximum capacity which will be as a percentage if you see that the battery capacity is 80 percent or below it is recommended to have it replaced
Usually if your battery capacity is like above 70 you may not notice performance issues but once the capacity reaches under 60 or 50 percent then you will notice battery performance issues
Can I take a spare battery out with me then replace the other 1 with this when it runs down?? Also u never seem to reply on here ,?
Unfortunately not, this won't be possible.
I just love you ❤️ Thanks!
Awwwww shucks...you are so welcome!
I'm 10 and I got an e scooter for a birthday and this gave me so many great tips😀😀😀
I hope you're joking 😭
