If the large black gear loses a tooth , just dremel the spline opposite the missing spline and put the gear in so the dremeled spline lines up with the arrow on the case, It only rotates 90 degrees so now the broken tooth will never be hit.

Do i really really need to sync my new actuator with a scanner once installed? My instructions say to do it.

How do the autozone and oreilly brands stack up to factory parts. And do you need to calibrate them on 2011 dodge nitro?

Mine was locked up. Threw it against the concrete a few times and put some grease on it and it works beautifully now. Thanks for the helpful video.

My question is how does the motor know when to stop? I see no feed back to the HVAC controller. does the HVAC controller sense the high current from a motor stall? It also makes me wonder how does ti know were to stop with a variable setting. I set my HVAC control to mid way between Hot and Cold, how does the HVAC know to stop it at the position?

How does the motor "know" when to stop? I had a motor that was not broken, but kept driving after the door was closed , and clicking. Pulled it, recycled the doors, and put it back in. Clicking stopped. It was like the computer was overdriving it in one direction, and not fully cycling in the other.

sometimes the gear shaft breaks too. Drill it out and put a nail through it and epoxy in place. Youll never get it back apart but it will work until you get the $17 Amazon replacement actuator in the mail!

Been having a problem with my AC only blowing cold when driving and then it stops and blows like a fan. Everyone that I've taken it to says that my AC unit is fine. I had ticking in my dash, changed the actuator and it was fine. The ticking noise started again and now it's back to only blowing cold when driven at times. Is it the actuator again?

I have replaced one on a '09 Impala and two on a '13 Impala. Now the drivers side failed. Same problem. They are a pain to replace and the new part is junk just like the OEM.

Replaced 3 in my dodge avenger. Each time the gears were melted together from heat. So last 1 I drilled a few holes in the case, been over a year and hasnt melted. I used to go through 1 every 9 months.

The defrost setting is staying on in our dodge ram, it won't switch to any other setting and doesn't seem like it is even changing in temperature either. We checked all the lines and can't seems to find a broken vacuum line or leak anywhere. When we would connect the terminals to the battery there is a strange sound coming from what appears to be the center of the dash. Do you think the actuator might be the problem? I haven't taken it off to look at it, because it is a god damn pain in the ass to get that second screw off I need to get special curved screwdriver.

My 1998 T&C is blowing hot air on the drivers side and cold air on the pax side. Would one of theses blend doors cause this ?

Actuator with cheap plastic gears predictably fails, but equally predictably only after the vehicle is out of warranty.
