Here’s my take on it…if you’re not feeling it as a collection for yourself, it’s perfectly acceptable to let go of it and collect what makes you happy! Although I’m an avid collector of MH, I’m in my 80s Barbie era and it’s making me happy! Gotta love your best collecting life! 💖🌈💖✨
I like that youre hard on dolls! Shows that you give them lots of love and activity!! Reminds me of Toy Story! They want to be in your house!! 😄 THe After display looks great.Very neat and organized!

You got rid of a lot 👏 You inspired me to do the same but I didn't get rid of as many as I thought I would 👎 My daughter had all the original MH & Bratzillaz so those I remember 😃 Of all your dolls my faves were the G3 Cleos 😍 Even though Draculaura was my fave when my daughter was collecting 🤓

My collection has doubled in the past 2 years and I'd really like to downsize. I have a better idea of where to start after watching your playlist.
Love the finished display. I need to get brutal with my Monster High. I'm really going through my dolls. Most of the miscellaneous are going. You had a couple in your maybe pile that I was saying bye to 😂. Some did get to the bye pile.
I have never seen a doll line that has so many missing limbs. I only have one orginal and she's mint. The rest are newer G1 and G3. I only have a handful.
I think you did a spooktakular job!! I love the idea of the risers. That’s a great idea so that the ones in the back can be seen. Are those styrofoam and boxes? I do like it! Now I have a dilemma that maybe you can give me your advice on. I’m not going to lie, I have OCD when it comes to cleaning😂. I don’t have a big collection of dolls like you do I have like 16 because I’m real picky 😂. However once a week when I clean that room I take ALL the dolls off the shelves dust them with a blush brush and dust the shelves. Then I put ‘em all back. Every single week! 😮😬 It’s a real pain in the butte! It really discourages me from adding anymore to my collection because then it will take me even longer to clean every week. Then I think to myself “Janet, do you really think other collectors clean their displays every week?” How do you handle the maintenance of your display?
Hi Janet! I love that you’re particular w dolls. I wish I would’ve started out more selective. 😄 I know of a lot of doll collectors like you who dust regularly. Honestly I don’t, however because my collection is larger, I’m constantly swapping out displays, redressing, playing w them, etc. So there’s a good reason to get more. They’ll get dusted through regular activity 😆! (I’m an excellent enabler 😉)
Nada mejor que hacer limpieza y quedarte con las que de verdad adoras. Me gusta tu selección y cómo las muestras. Asi puedes disfrutar de ellas con un golpe de vista. Por cierto, las peanas que usas para tus muñecas son fantásticas: discretas, de base pequeña, pero adecuada para mantener a tus chicas. Espero encontrar unas iguales porque me vendrían genial. ❤❤❤
I’m so glad you agree! Yes the risers I used are just styrofoam from packing or any little boxes I have from jewelry or watches. Things I already have at home 😀

Collector Cleo treated like this, thrown in a box?!?! Nooo, she's royalty 😶😒😲 Great display in the end... despite the poor discarded victims 😢 It is not a fair comparison between G3 and G1 because the G3 dolls are new straight out of the box and G1 are second hand in played with condition... just to say... 🙄😏😉 I have so many dolls, it is a catastrophy. I need to really downsize, it is vital but I have the horrible feeling that I will have to be stuck in France for a few months again. It is a disaster and I need to sort out not only my dolls but my life too. I am having a pretty bad time at the moment. I think I'll refrain from adding new dolls to my collection for a while... 😑🙄

You've kept very expensive Skullector dolls thrown into boxes in your basement?? 😅 Wow, kudos to you, lady. I wish I could be so conscious of them as toys rather than pricey collectibles. Seriously! It actually bugs me when I buy a doll that then shoots up in value because I feel very constrained by that. Do I unbox her or try to sell her? If I redress her, do I ruin the value? Better keep her in great shape, or she'll go down in value and I'll have thrown away a windfall that I might need later. It's all really silly, but knowing that doesn't seem to change my feelings. Oh, well, tl;dr: Your attitude towards your dolls are my #goals.
I know, treating collector dolls that way is definitely cringey, isn’t it 🫢 But it certainly makes me view them as exactly the same as the others, then I’m not so afraid of being actively hands-on with them. High class or budget, at the end of the day, they’re all dolls. A good metaphor for life, perhaps 😄
