The thing that bothers me about the movie freaky fusion is that they never covered up the butterfly effect or in the mh world the bat effect. They interacted so much when they time traveled without causing any troubles. My guess Is that when they traveled back in time and messed with the time line the reboot happened.
@@edin6380 Oh that's a good one. Yes I always wondered about that. I guess in the past Frankie went back and stopped her grandpa? Well honestly...I never understood time travel because how do two times run at the same time?
At 6:09 for goulia (I don’t know how to spell her name) she can only was born a zombie confirmed at some kind of event but there is a clip out there where it does say Goulia has a zombie mum and zombie dad who loved each other very much and then they had a zombie child who was once a zombie kid and is now a zombie teen This is why she does not rot
10:27 isn't Ever After High also in the same universe as Monster High? There’s an episode where Cupid switches schools goes through a portal to get to Ever after high and her body changes, the same thing happens when characters go to the wonder land dimension and “Ghost” dimensions.
The fact that Ever After High and Monster High were supposed to have a crossover but it never happened just irks me. Idk the reboots don’t make sense to me and the cancellation of EAH after ticked me off. We were robbed of what could’ve been the biggest and best thing in cartoon history. I need my closure. I’m pretty sure a lot of fans would watch both shows had they been started up again with the original plots. Idk I just feel like a piece of my childhood is missing and we were robbed of the answers we needed.
My guess the reason why for the cancellation of EAH is because of Disney descendants. They’re both similar in comparisons and everyone focus was on descendent so ever after high couldn’t continue competing. I would love to see the crossover movie cause MH and EAH mentioned each other in episode/movies. As well as continue watching ever after high.
That's the thing we're being robbed left and right, yet there's some people saying to suck it up. Move on because they're no longer going to be catering to the older Monster High fans, we're allowed to share our thoughts/ opinions regardless though. 😃
Vampires don't age. Read draculaura's backstory, she's not the biological daughter of Dracula, she was born human from human parents who died, dracula then turned her into a vampire to save her from the plague. Vampires are in the undead category.
@@kingdomorange2 Her backstory says she and her mother lived with dracula for years after her father died when she was a baby, then her and her mother got the plague while dracula was away, her mom died before he got back and so he could only save draculaura
@@kingdomorange2 she was turned into vampire, not an original yet. She had to go through the process slowly and I guess it finally finished when she was 16/1600 yrs old which then means she stops aging.
I mean, not all cameras use mirrors, specially nowadays. Also, Vampires do have reflections, they just aren’t reflected by silver, because silver is a pure metal.
Well that may be true in mythology...but the MH cartoon clearly showed that Draculaura couldn't do her makeup easily because she couldn't see herself in a mirror or during picture day, we couldn't see her face in the picture... What I remember though is this entry in Draculaura's diary where she said that she was so hyped because Cleo found a spell to make her visisble in mirrors... So vampires could achieved to be seen in mirrors, photos or films thanks to certain spells
In "Frights Camera Action" it didn't really bother me that nobody recognized Elissabat as Veronica. What bothered me was that Elissabat and Draculaura had been close friends in the vampire court, but Elissabat didn't react at all to seeing Draculaura walk through her door after 400 years. Draculaura hadn't changed her name or her appearance. So why didn't Elissabat react with some kind of shock or surprise, or try just a bit too obviously to hide her face from Draculaura in case she recognized Elissabat?
I think she did but she hid it. Right before she shows herself in her trailer, she hides away her glasses, showing she had time to prepare her reactions.
Probably bc she wanted to move past her previous life as a different person I mean she is an actor so I suppose she can control her actions and emotions before it’s expected, I guess she was sincere enough to offer an autograph instead of getting them kicked out of her studio lol
One character that always confused me was Neighthan Rot. He's a hybrid monster, a mix of two monster species. And he was ... half unicorn and half zombie. Thanks to his unicorn heritage he has an x-man like healing factor which makes him look like a Grey skinned human being with a unicorn horn and a tail. But his zombie genes makes it so he's got poor coordination when it comes to physical activities. Very slow to walk and super clumsy. But this basically means somewhere out there a unicorn and a zombie got freaky together. Implying zombies are like other races, capable of reproducing, aging, and dying from old age ...
@@lenastorm6280 Neighthan's diary outright says that his mom can transform into a "two legged creature" at will, presumably similar to how Neighthan himself looks
I love this video, but I think there are some things that I can clear up. 1. It was confirmed somewhere that Ghoulia was born a zombie. With that in mind, I think that zombies age, but not at the same pace as most mortals (I heard this *somewhere* but I can't find a source ATM) 2. Draculaura does not age. In her diary, she was born a human was turned after almost succumbing to a plage that ravaged her village. Dracula turned her in order to save her life 3. I assume Gigi is Immortal due to how genies tend to work in fiction and Rochelle is undead as... she's a rock. I imagine that Honey and Jinafire do age and die. As for how they age? I have no clue. 5. Mu guess for whether Monsters are a minority or not? Both, depending on where you go. I think that Monster High was built in the human world and the catacombs are a portal into the monster world. In the human world, monsters are a minority with a few communities in certain places and other portals into the monster world. In the monster world, places like Scaris, Hauntlywood and New Gorleans can exist. I think most of the continuity errors are just because Mattek is lazy and forgot things later down the line as they continued to make more movies. Even so, it still makes for an interesting universe!
Yeah and not only that at the time that was the most successful they stop the line of monster high and decide to do an reboot, I think that if they had continue with the original seria, I think we would have more explanation of this and more facts.
if i remember Jinafire could technically be an immortal bc shes based off of chinese dragons. they were seen as gods in the mythos but i’m not entirely sure
@Cincoat I never meant that they were oppressed, or anything. I was just assuming that there were completely separate worlds based on the existence of New Salem as a "human city" and other cities only having monsters
TBH the main thing I don't get is why Draculaura is in high school because she is 1600. Yes, she she may not be aging much or at all, but even if you don't have you should still *graduate.* Seems Draculaura has been flunking her classes over and over until she's become a super senior to an extreme degree lol.
I read that she was tricked into being mummified alive (along with her dad and sister) with magical bandages or something and that the bandages are what keep her able to live a semi-normal life but if she takes them off then her true age shows and she'd likely die Of course... my memory is pretty bad so I could've gotten things wrong
Cleo and Ghoulia are literally besties and she can also understand her, I guess she just doesn’t speak it verbally in the webtoons or movies. Also mummies and zombies are little bit more different but the reason why Cleo may not act like Ghoulia may be because she isn’t autistic. It has been confirmed that Ghoulia has autism, but I like how in the diaries she tries to differentiate herself from her disabilities.
Another thing about the ghosts in haunted, why isn't Twyla labeled a ghost and isn’t transitioning into non-solid form like Operetta or Scarah when she‘s coming to the Ghostworld, she is the daughter of the bogeyman and he is also some kind of ghost isn’t he ? it really doesn’t make sense to me now that I am older and rewatched the movies 😂
Omg! I didn't even think about her. I think maybe because the Boogeyman is just too generic of a monster for them to want to put her in the movie maybe?
The boogeyman isn’t necessarily a ghost and neither is Twyla. Most likely in the Monster High world Twyla and her father are more of ‘shadow monsters’. Lots of different cultures and even families have their own separate versions of the boogeyman story(ies).
One thing that I never got about monster high is Opereta as a character, in both the phantom of the opera musical and novel the Phantom himself isn't a monster nor a ghost, he's just a man living under the opera house with a facial disfigurement hence the mask. it's just odd to me that considering this opereta is considered a phantom herself
@@waifau9093 While they did not specify which Phantom it's heavily implied even by her name that it's the Phantom of the Opera . Even just by her name being Opereta. But it could just be a fun reference and not actually facts.
Forget my previous comment it is actually stated in her description that she is in fact the daughter of The Phantom of the Opera and someone else who isn't known.
I was lowkey hoping that you were going to talk about how Robecca Steam's heart is diffrent in frights camera action and ghouls rule, that little part never made any sense to me and it slightly annoyed me. Of course it's a small detail that I think not many noticed but i feel like it would make more sense if they made her have a similar and/or same heart instead of a completly diffrent one
I think the heart thing was more of a false one like a trick or that the vampire heart really isn’t what powers robecca but what give her emotions as we didn’t see Ghoulia putting Robecca together at once
8:47 I headcanon that Viperine and the makeup team use cosmetics so Elissabat shows up on camera, contacts and powders and such. That brings up one thing that has always confused me, the inconsistencies with vampire makeup in MH. Draculaura can be wearing a complex eyeshadow design that doesn't show up in a mirror but have blush on her nose that does at the same time. It just can't be explained
Maybe its like real life where fancy vampire makeup is super expensive and high end and since shes only a teenager she uses the cheap stuff that they sell anywhere for anyone
what also sucks is the fact that they had plans for a Crossover Film between Monster High & Ever After High, but they never made it for Stupid reasons, That film could have been the Perfect Finale to both series before they Rebooted Monster High, but we never got the chance to see the finished film, which totally Bites(no pun intended).
I think the idea of the reboot movie was interesting. However, the fact that they weren't going to have C.A. Cupid in the movie just really turned me off the idea.
Something I don't understand about the reboot is that that only kept a few humanoid looking characters. A lot of the characters in the films don't look like dolls at all, there's a slider knockoff, cartoons skeletons, and a plushy fluffy yeti monster that looks really weird next to Abby in the show. It's hard to sell dolls if your characters aren't doll compatible.
8:48 Actually, it's believed that the reason vampires cannot be seen in mirrors is that traditionally, mirrors were made using silver and vampires cannot touch silver as it harms them. As in modern times mirrors aren't made with silver, vampires could hypothetically be seen in them, or at least through other means such as photos or film. While Monster High clearly doesn't use the silver explanation, since vampire cannot be seen in mirrors and it is safe to assume they use modern mirrors in the school, a similar line of reasoning could be why Elizabat can be filmed. That or it's just for plot convenience
Here’s something that sort of never made sense to me that involves Monster High and Ever After High. At the end of Boo York Boo York, Astra Nova is seen talking to Raven and Apple (I think) and it was made clear that no one in that universe believes that Monster ?High exists until Astra ended up there. Seems logical until you remember that C.A. Cupid originally was a part of Monster High before crossing over to Ever After High. Did Cupid seriously never talk about the Monster world? Or anyone question where this random girl who literally appears out of nowhere came from considering everyone knows everybody and their families’ stories and history? This is a huge plot hole that definitely needed to be explained in either franchise.
I remember hearing that but it is annoying that the people of Ever After High don’t believe that Monsters exist considering they are storybook characters and do have some monsters and creatures found at Monster High and Cupid appeared one day out of nowhere literally to those same people and no one ever questioned where she came from. I just want to hear why the people of Ever After High don’t believe in Monsters existing.
Maybe their “monster age” is based on their physical age and all the monsters (except for the immortals) age differently. As for vampires maybe they age like normal humans until about their teen years and then it slows down.
Honestly I think MH is one of those stories that you don't try digging too much into and you just have to accept it as is. It has so many versions, dolls, films ,web series etc I think it's natural that this would happen. I don't think it was created with too much deep philosophical world building and whatnot, it was just for kids(and us) to enjoy. But it's nice to see the theories, questions and head cannons people have.(and see a group of overthinkers like me lol) And now...to watch the video
I think one of the biggest problems we tend to have is our association with classical lore. For example, it is true that vampire do not reflect in mirrors in the "general" lore and in Monster High, but it does not have to be like that always. Vampires do not have to be intolerant of garlic just because it is what is usually believe. For example, Ghosts. In general terms, ghost can not have kids but it is obvious that in Monster High they can because although we know that Spectra was human and die, other ones is implied that they are the sons and daughters of other ghosts. This is the same that with zombies. I think, in general terms, there are two ways of becoming a monster. You can die and transform into that creature in some cases like vampires, ghosts, zombies, mummies and maybe even werewolfs or you can be the son or daughter of a monster. All monster can reproduce, even though for us can be weird. Anyways, I have written to much. Your video is fantastic! I love it! PD: Why Scarah and Operetta are not translucid? Simple, they are tecnically not ghosts. Banshees are part of the fae tradition of Irish/Gaelic mythology, they are more connected with fairies than ghosts and although Operetta is the Phantom of the Opera's daughter...the Phantom of the Opera is tecnically not a ghost, it is just a very dramatic name. Why are they see as "ghosts" although they are not? Probably because banshees are very connected with death like ghosts. Operetta is more complicate though.
Honestly I think MH is one of those stories that you don't try digging too much into and you just have to accept it as is. Btw, most of my knowledge of banshees is from "Teen Wolf", so I agree with you on that part. Banshees are basically just creatures that warn humans about someone who's at the point of death by screaming. So they're technically not ghosts like you said. However, Spectra(or the reaper girl) mentions in one of the MH films(the one where they go to haunted high) that banshees are a type of ghost. Anyways...
In regards to the Dayna Treasure Jones thing, I’m pretty sure that whole line was originally designed to be part of G1. The Monster High reboot was so rushed that there wasn’t time to prepare certain doll lines, so they reused some of their original design and ideas. They probably forgot to edit Dayna’s bio, especially since there was no movie for this doll line. I also believe Garrett stated that there was suppose to be a Return To Skull Shores movie and people have speculated that these doll lines were suppose to be that.
Oh my god! I didn't know there was a Return to Skull Shores movie planned! Thats exciting! I do have a weird feeling like it would've been kinda boring though ....or maybe not
Ok, I got this, I have been waiting for this! Check this out: Using the source material of Operetta's father (yes, we're talking about the OG Phantom of the Opera) The reason she's both is because he's both. Confusingly depending on which version of the source You've seen (ahem, 2004 movie) he is usually depicted as a fully solid normal human man just with a messed up face from either a Birth Defect, or a horrible fire. *BUT in the original book!* He was described (the few times he actually appears in his own book-) as being both. The short version? Ghosts are ALWAYS non-solid. Spectres (Hence Spectra) are non solid and can partially become solid/interact with physical objects. Phantom's though! Can seamlessly transition between the two with little to no trouble! Hence why Operetta and her father are BOTH! :D The original phantom could walk through walls, and even appeared to fly at one point if memory serves, from when I read the book like 8-10 years ago. Hence why Operetta is solid but can become a non-solid later in the ghost world.
i just rewatched mh: great scarrier reef and i noticed one thing that bothered me the whole day. when deuce tried to petrify the kraken, it just backfired and got deuce petrified instead. i really didn’t get it because wasn’t it medusa’s stare the very thing that killed the kraken in mythology?
Also, the monster in the myth wasn't a kraken. It was a sea monster called Cetus. It is sometimes called the Kraken, but that's been used as a catch-all term for sea monsters I've noticed. I'm guessing you're more familiar with the clash of the Titans movie?
I think the ghost world thing shouldn't apply to banshees at all because traditionally they are fae, not spirits, tho in MH they are some type of ghost
Some of these can be explained with the idea that MH has several "timelines" or "universes", or even if we believe there was a soft "reboot" around Scaris/Fright Camera Action. Before those movies, Mosnters had to hide and were the minority in a world populated by humans... after those movies, Monsters were the majority, and always had been. Not how Jackson dissapeared around that time, and there were almost never humans discussed again, even when it would have made sense.
THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING!!! That was def a soft reboot. There was a lot more exploration of the monster world once that shift happened. Less of a focus on the otherness/creepiness of monsters and more of a this is how a monster society would function. Both have their merits and are cool, but I really prefer the first one. It was a little edgier imo
Yeah, definitely. It’s always been odd to me how they went from explicitly showing a clear divide between the monster and human world to having them visit monsterfied major cities 😭

One thing I didn’t understand is, how in “New Ghoul at School” when Frankie tries out for the fearleader team Draculaura and Clawdeen are already in the team, but in a webisode where most of the fearleader team quits (Toralei, her friends and some other ghouls) and only Frankie stays, she asks Draculaura and Clawdeen to join the team, because they weren’t part of it yet.
I find it weird humans exist in the monster high world for one movie.. and lived down the street from monster high....... Yet abandoned the idea and made the monster world an alt of our world Paris scaris. New York city boo york Edit you addressed it
@@kingdomorange2 it kinda got worse when it was confirmed monster high and happily ever after high was connected ... I do like the idea but found it weird... Cupid goes to both worlds... But I feel they should coexist. They have wolves. And you'd think monsters too since fairytales have them too
I’ve always thought that there was some borders of the monster and human world like the monster world was happening in some secret area which is why humans have all these ghost stories, besides a lot of the students are related to a few humans despite being afraid like Frankie’s Granfather is just some human mad scientist and Robecca’s dad is a human turned cyborg, and Deuce was meant to be half normie
@@NoName-dx1no I like to think these worlds have SOME knowledge about their existence. It made sense how humans made stories about monsters maybe because they accidentally interacted with each other and that caused a huge domino effect. But I do agree Monster High being a walking distance from the human world? Bruh I don’t understand that.
I always thought that Monster High took part in a separate dimension from the human world but the bridge between those dimensions became weak during Halloween which would allow each being from those dimensions to cross to the other
Hi, I just have a quick nitpick about the whole mummies thing. So it’s actually very likely that most of the mummies in the Monster High world were royalty or at the very least members of high society, since mummification was a time consuming and expensive process in Ancient Egypt. Essentially, only the very wealthy could afford it. The more ragtag mummies you see in the series were probably either slightly lower class members of society whose bodies were not as well preserved, or buried in the desert for a sort of cheap and “natural” mummification.
Frankies age is clearly a source of stress to most writers because most agree she’s 15 days old when she meets the others but bringing up her age after that means they gotta put a timeline on thing and open themselves up to plot holes
There are a lot of parts of g1 monster high that contradict one another, so the way I think of it is that there are a few different timelines (diaries, movie timeline a, movie timeline b, webisodes, etc.) that only overlap if they explicitly reference each other (ex. Torelei’s basic doll diary). Some doll diaries, ofc, would only be canon to the movies or the webisodes, but things might make more sense if you think of it this way (it also explains how a character might be completely different in the movies than they are in their diary and stuff like that). Also, to go into detail in the separate movie timelines- there are some (the early ones) where monsters are a minority, and there are others (the later ones) that imply monsters are a majority. These are incompatible ideas, to some degree, but it makes more sense to me to have them take place in different timelines.
I think there are also different timelines in the movies themselves. Like ghouls rule is in a diff universe from the location movies (spec. Boo York, Scaris, Frights Camera etc)
With ghosts and zombies, I feel like there might be two types: 1) ghosts/zombies that were born human but died would maybe stay the same age forever, and 2) ghosts/zombies that were born as such and age incredibly slowly, possibly stopping once reaching adulthood (adulthood could be taken as maybe the age of full cortical development [25 years, and honestly kinda debatable for zombies] or maybe mid-age as an arbitrary set point)
The age gap between Draculaura and Clawd. She's 1600 and she used to baby sit him when he was a puppy. My mind was blown when that revaluation came out. Since she baby sat him, that means she would have changed his dirty nappies and saw his.... You know... So awkward....
really?? because I remember a similar line that Clawdeen told her younger sister when she was having a crush on another werewolf during the moon season or something.
About Elizabat. What I think is a funny guess on how she shows up on screens is that she coats herself with light makeup. Because as we’ve seen in the show and (I think) some movies, Draculaura’s makeup is almost always reflected back in mirrors (especially clear in scenes where she puts on makeup) and maybe contacts or something Just a silly idea tho
8:23 I feel like it kinda works similar to how thor's hammer works in the marvel universe, it picks whoever is the most worthy. Elizabat doesn't want to be queen but gets picked probably for her ambition and kind heart not to mention she wishes for change
My daughter was barely born when Monster High first came out but through youtube, bargain dvds and ebay finds, she absolutely loves the original characters and toys. I can already tell that she is not going to like the new stuff if they've changed it so much.
In general ancient Egyptian history, who ever was mummified was someone who could afford it. Royalty within Egypt, had their servants either executed to join them in the afterlife or had paintings of servants in their tombs to join them.
Well, it's not Monster High canon, but in the 90s show Gargoyles it was stated that gargoyles age at 1/2 the rate of humans, so I assumed Rochelle was similar just for my own headcanon.
Reccently, in my college writing class, the professor asked us to do a film review as it would be relatively easy. I decided to write it on the second generation film Monster High: Electrified because when I orignally watched it, I found that the writing or plot wasn't enough or done right. The main problem is with the first film and ITS problems. So do monsters have a civilization or not? Because we are told that monsters went into hiding and whatnot but they also have a monster internet/web? Not only that many of the monsters are very "civilized" and while it might be dumb or kinda weird to have monsters act "not-human" at the same time, what would be the point of acting human if they are not human if that makes sense. Obviously the other problem is the writing. For example, why do Frankie and Draculaura (and her friends) want to befriend humans? Their original goal was to make a school so that other monsters could live "normal" lives like humans. Humans shouldn't even be something they want to deal with. If the writers or whoever were the ones that wanted to make it more "kid-friendly" where everyone should be your friend or whatever, they should have at least done a better job. In Welcome to Monster High, when Draculaura talks to the pop star (i forgot her name) and the star acted scared of her, wanting to blend in, it made Draculaura upset but eventually we found that she is a ghost (so a monster) that wanted to be part of the human world and whatnot. They could have easily used that point or idea for the next film, in Electrified. Maybe in the next movie, Draculaura is scared because she doesn't want her friends to get hurt, which could be emphasized with the fact that in the opening scene humans are chasing a wolf (who is a werewolf named Silvi). She tries to kindly discourage her friend Clawdeen from creating her fashion/beauty salon in the human town so her friends convince her to visit the town with them to look around in the town for a nice place to make it. She is terrified at first but eventually starts enjoying the town and its culture and people but an accident occurs where it terrifies her friends (maybe her as well) from the humans and so they give up on their plan to open the salon or befriend humans. But then the popstar/ghost is able to convince them or share stories why they shouldn't give up on befriending humans. Sure, humans can be mean, scary, and hurtful but a lot more of them are kind and caring and all that blah blah blah bs. But instead the movie is all over the place introducing Silvi, the boogymans's daughter, and has a band that adds nothing to the film, not even the boogyman's daughter adds something (yes she looked for clues for Frankie but take her out and give her role to frankie, and it would be a somewhat much better movie because then the lesson of "you shouldn't be afraid to ask for help or you shouldn't do things alone" would have a more impactful lesson/)
Also, why are the monsters going to school? Like i know our reason is because we need to be educated to get a job but a monster? would they get a job? not in the reboot reality, of course, it could be argued that its so that one day they could but like it isn't explained and that issue isnt even brought up. Maybe if they made another movie, they could have made the topic "We go to school to be more human or act more human". This could work because then the converasation could be had about "coding" (if im remembering that correctly) how we change ourselves to have a certain "code" with certain people, for example, when black people use a "white" voice with cops so that they aren't killed or are not treated dumb if that makes sense. The monsters could have a discussion about if they should act more human or be "monsters" but respected. If its even possible for some monsters to act human as some can't be, for example, the skelotons.
I always assumed that the human world and the monster world were separate. Monsters used to be a part of everyday life but humans drove them out due to fear and they founded new lands elsewhere, like a whole new plane of existence, that sometimes overlapped with humanity in certain places. So they could have travel back and forth, yet have entire cities and such in similar places to the human world. We see something similar with the Ghost world in one movie, but hearing everything else has me doubting now 😅
In 6:50, I think Rochelle is undead/mortal. Her stone body may have physically ageing. Jinafire is similar to Draculaura. She may age slowly Honey swamp and Gigi is mortal. Gigi no longer be a genie that make wish. She may starts ageing.
I mean in all honesty they could've been really distant cousins as it wasn't uncommon for siblings to get married, but I'm highly confident Monster High would never ever touch on that topic.
only some mummy’s are alive because they have a special wraps, so because cleo is royalty they had acces to it while she was alive, causing her to not die, so her body was preserved, and some ghosts died, like spectra(told in her diary) and some were born ghosts because of parents(river)
You have to keep this in mind, the show and films were made with the purpose of selling toys, they don’t care about consistency and lore. You’re going to get plot holes and unanswered questions.
I always assumed the ghosts simply died at a certain age and then didn't age, so spectra could've died at 16 while let's say polter could've died at 17. Therefore they can have different ages and still not age
in the live action movie, there is the ''monster'' and the ''human'' world, they are separated by the portal so it gives more sense to boo york, scaris but not to ghoul rule
I've seen it been theorized that the reason Spectra's backstory is so full of contradictions is because she actually lies about herself to both make her seem more interesting like her gossip blog, and/or to cover up trauma. Because of this we really have no way of knowing what is and isn't true about Spectra and how ghosts work.
Surprised you didn't mention how they explain Operatta being the Phantom of the Opera's kid or the lore around her father in Monster High, since they keep him as a normie so that would imply he somehow had a child with a ghost as a human...?
With the monsters being aged, some of them are actually first human and then turn into monsters such as Spectra. Spectra was actually a living girl and then soon died later and became a ghost while other monsters, such as ghoulia we're born monsters. So that can be an issue of what's their age in normal years to monster years?
Well with many characters you can assume they are the product of actual reproduction. Since most characters have parents and hybrid monsters exist I think at least 50% of undead monsters are just like that. Like skelita and her family didn’t die they just are monsters that look like skeletons. I think for actual skeleton characters they would have to be brought back by magic by a necromancer. I think the mummies are cursed to live forever and the high class mummies are persevered perfectly while others fall into decay. I think most zombies are people who are cursed as well since they are based off of the original idea of zombies being people dead or alive that are bewitched into servitude. Since most of the zombies don’t have gorey features I think they aren’t dead and brought back but enchanted while still alive. And the zombie state is hereditary so most zombies were born that way. Lol just like zomby gaga
The thing about immortality is that there really isn't anything movies or media in general can go off of except for myths and old beliefs. Like you said in Greek mythology gods start out as babies then grow to look in their 20s-40s and don't age physically past that. But if we go off of if a human was immortal that would be different and much more questions would be asked. Questions like "How would they look if they were 4000 years old" but nobody can give a direct answer that would be 100% true because nobody has seen something like that before. Nothing about monsters would be 100% percent true unless the person who made monsters said it. We will never know that about immortals because not one person decided on it. We can't go ask the person as of now because we don't really know who that is and they probably haven't even thought about those questions. Nobody is really sure about the idea of immortality and how deep can it really go and I think that's what makes the idea of the supernatural and mythology so interesting because its something for everybody to interpret differently.
I thought Robecca was a robot, not undead. And isn't Elle E Dee also a robot? Plus, for a mummy to reach the Afterlife, they have to be completely intact. Poor people couldn't afford mummification so they were usually buried in mass graves. So only royalty and nobility would have been in perfect condition and thus allowed in the Afterlife. Except for all the ones whose graves were desecrated. I bet Cleo's family hid their crypt under another crypt like Tutankhamun.
to answer the vampires in photographs thing, the Monster High universe has special technology made specifically to allow vampires to be photographed or recorded.
Well vampires being able to appear in film could actually be chocked up to the original mirror lore around vampires. It wasn't so much that their reflections and images couldn't be seen, but at the time mirrors where made with silver components. And it was said that the silver was to pure of a metal for the vampires reflection to show up. We could reason that they still use silver-backed mirrors in the monster world.
Operetta might be a solid in the normal world because the phantom of the opera is, and when she’s in a full ghost world, she just becomes a ghost too, idk sorry.
I've been re-watching the show, and I can not understand how as a kid I never noticed just how hard Matt3l was trying to sell these dolls. I still love the dolls' unique desings, but now I find it so obvious how the attention put to the different outfits in the web series or movies, or the new characters introduced, or the great number of characters playing somewhat significant roles in a single movie were often marketing strategies :p
So in the book series following Rebecca Steam, Venus Flytrap, and Rochelle Goyelle, Monster High is actually indeed a boarding school. The trio is described in a dorm together and I believe Wydowna has one as well. Or she gets one eventually. It's kinda implied, from what I remember, that dorms are optional, if you don't have family to live with close by to the school but you still want to attend,
You know what wouldn't make sense? Jackson and Holt's scare-itage (heritage) project. They can't do the normie side (everyone would be PISSED), theres only been three Hydes and Holt is one of them, and Heath would do the fire elemental side because they're cousins. WHAT WOULD THEY DO???
Rochelle is a living rock, so she'd be in the undead category for a slow-aging individual that cannot technically die, but could be destroyed. Honey Swamp, and therefore the rest of the water monster crew, are mortals that age at a slower rate and eventually die but CAN live longer than most living beings (fish can stay alive as long at theyre healthy and have enough resources, etc). Jinafire is a part of Chinese mythology. I'd place her more towards the immortal side, since Chinese dragons cannot die unless killed by another dragon or god. Gigi is a primordial pagan god. Immortal.
kinda off topic but the MH book series mentioned at 10:40 is actually a very very good young adult/teen book series. like its more mature and very well written, ive had them for years (like since it came out) and I expected it to be like a more "childish" and young book series similar to how MH's movies and web series are written but I didnt expect it to be a young adult book/teen series and I didnt expect it to be so well written, so well structured and mature, its overall just a very good book series and storyline. I strongly recommend reading the series to anyone who hasn't.
Initially I wasn't thinking about origins of monsters in Monster High. When I started I just assumed they all were born this way (except Franky). Interesting point
I’ve never seen the gen 2 younger siblings dolls before, I actually like how more animal-like and furry they are? That’s super cute. I really really hope they don’t do away with spectra or her cheekbones though, she’s got one of my favorite designs!
8:58 The origin of the fact that vampires, in myth, cannot be seen in mirrors is because back then, mirrors were made with silver, which was commonly a weakness for many mythical monsters. So arguably, she could be seen in photos, but honestly I don't think Monster High thought about it either way.
In terms of location, I've always been under the impression that Monster High exists in both the monster world but is also located near a human school. Sort of like the two worlds blend together or rather mirror each other which is why places like Scaris and Boo York exist in addition to Paris and New York.
With the mummy thing, I believe it’s because only people of a certain status were mummified during that time. Regular, lower caste people were buried in the sand. With Cleo and Set, it totally checks. So my guess with Mr. Mummy and other mummies is that he could have been someone of higher rank that had been mummified.
I always thought the vampire heart worked like a lineage detector. When stoker is looking for the next queen, he looks at a large board with vampire court members and chooses Draculaura, but just above Drac and D.Laura we can see Elissibat's family. With vampires being immortal, and being able to turn or birth their own children, I'd assume lineage would get...messy. especially since they used to be racist and only associated with other vamps. So if the "court" is made up of the "descendants" of the OG vamp, the VH would act like a heir detector for the court on who had the strongest claim. If a turned vamp and a born vamp come into existence at the same time, whose got more pull? Probably the biological vamp, right? But you don't have any born and suddenly its turned over to a vamp whose been turned who can go on to have kids of their own and make a totally biologically yet, legally royal new line. So when the last queen died, she might not have had children of her own, or they had passed away and the bloodline was thought to be ended. Unless there was something in the diaries that says otherwise, I haven't read them yet, I'm falling down a rabbit hole of hyper focus lol 🤣 I mean, it's not a sword in the stone kinda deal where they just walked around letting any vamp ghoul touch it and see if she was chosen, right?
Great video. Personally, I think Draculara probably went through school multiple times because she aged so slowly and wanted to keep socializing with other monsters.
Same i was thinking. I actually immediately thought of Twilight when he brought that up. Cos Edward goes through high school several times before the high-school in Twilight since he looks permanently 17 years old.
Great video... I love Monster High, but there are sooo many questions! I think Mattel did such a great job with creating these characters and their shared universe, but the series seemed to lose its way before long. I really enjoy the original run of movies, but there have always been major problems from the storytelling perspective: plot holes, inconsistencies, and a lack of continuity between the books, movies, and webisodes. And that was even before the Reboot We Don't Talk About...
Vampires had no reflection because a lot of old mirrors were made with a backing of silver. Since the superstition is that vampires can be killed by silver, they can't reflect off of it. Pictures and film would be a-ok in that way ;)
I am guessing that Spectra arrived at the ghost world initially after dying? Maybe some of the ghosts there are dead people with the students of Haunted High being dead teens or young adults in general. And them being afraid of solids could be that they lost most of their memories of being alive( for those that were initially human) or that they have stayed as ghosts for so long that they fear solid creatures?
something I thought about a lot last year: monster high official release was 15 days after frankie's creation I believe. and the monster high timeline follows the 2010s. this means that right now frankie is 12 years old and will spend almost 18 years in high school. Gen 1 frankie will graduate with class of 2028 Next, since the monsters and humans live in the same world, we have diverse monsters in the USA, Romania and Japan have vampires, etc. So does that mean that there are skeletons casually walking the streets of mexico? also, at some point those skeletons were probably real people, but what did they look like?
The ages in "Monster years" always annoyed me. What could that even mean??!!?! Also I'm still confused about Draculaura and other Vampires being in grade school for hundreds, possibly thousands of years. How is their schooling different? Do they just learn slower? How many classes do they need to take to graduate? We need answers Garrett Sander!!!!!
What weirds me out the most is that some characters are literally old (chronologically) and are going to high school. Like, not aging shouldn't affect your ability to graduate. When you finish a class, you're done unless you failed and have to retake it, making it look like Draculaura has been flunking for centuries 💀
Well you can't graduate characters if you want to keep them in the high school setting😂 If series and films with actual actors and actresses could stop humans from aging, some series would go on and on keeping the characters in high school(or uni) or whatever school stage they want to maintain them at. With animation of course, that's not a problem and "aging" or "graduating" doesn't have to be an obstacle.
And like any other stuff in a school centered show, you never actually see them do the "school" part of the schooling unless it's the fun part or relevant to the plot. For example have you ever seen a show in a school setting with the characters actually in class listening to the teacher teach math or composition? It's usually just : "so a * b is ..." then the rest is blah blah blah...skip to the bell ringing and character(s) meeting after class to chat with his/her friend about the latest thing in the plot; which will be majority of screen time.
@@k.5425 the fix for this is easy though, chronologically young monsters. Just because someone's immortal doesn't mean they're old. And then just make it so time doesn't pass normally, like in Pokemon. A university setting is another fix for something like that, because someone can go back for a master's or just be going to college later in life. Of course, university settings don't tend to be as dramatic in terms of cliques and stuff, and this is probably me just liking really grounded settings in fantasy.
my first piece of monster high media was a reboot movie 😳, I kinda arrived late! but being now a massive fan, I can definitely say that I do not like massive changes to the ghouls with every new reboot or series
Also, the setting in the monster high is confusing. In Ghouls Rule, the humans were like 10 minutes away from Monster High. But in movies where they travel, (Boo York, FCA, Paris) all of citizens are monsters.
This is what I found out recently but most characters have lost their trademarks and can’t be used. I know that Clawd and Spectra are victims of the trademark being lost or inactive.
I think there's a bit of a 'mythical' category that the the monsters based off mythology might belong to and they probably live as long as the legend of them is still around. For example Abbey could be a mythical character whose lifespan is as long as those who believe in the Abominable Snowman.
Why wasn’t Jackson/Holt in the freaky fusion movie???? Even tho he isn’t born of two monsters he’s technically a fusion especially when he has to deal with the whole split personality thing??? He should’ve been in that movie, idk how he could’ve helped but he could’ve helped-maybe this movie and seeing the main girls get along better could’ve helped Jackson & Holt coexist more cause they literally didn’t get along cause their polar opposites
For the vampire queen one, the weirdest thing for me is how the heart appeared in Rebecca's chest. Because Frankie and the ghouls rebuilted her in a previous movie so they obviously would've seen it
I might be misremembering... But Deuce Gorgon's pet is Perseus and I remember somewhere it mentioned that his mother didn't like the name (seeing that it's the name of the Greek hero that beheaded her). And since Posea Reef is daughter of Poseidon... Does that mean Greek Myths are real? And if they are doesn't that mean that Medusa is immortal since she's been behead and lived? And does that mean Deuce is also immortal as well?
My only question for monster high that I’ve had for years is how do they determine a monster to be done with school? Cause Draculaura has been in school for more then 100 years now, so like how do they determine she’s done with her education or do they just leave it up to them to decide?
the question "who would she be taking across" kinda made me mad bc it's obvious, she's taking ghosts across. she's taking them in & out of the monster world bc ghosts are allowed to choose where they want to live. that would be like asking "if my friend is a bus driver for long distances, who is she taking. ppl live in our state or their own state". they'd be visiting, moving in. or moving out. and bc laws are put in place this stop haunting from happening when they reach the other side
About the whole aging thing... what about constructed monsters like Frankie or Robecca? Do they stay the same age they were designed to look? Frankie's bio says she's 16 days old.
I think the full dialog of what His diary said gives more context...i think that there is definitely quite a few people who probably know about the solid world not being awful , and I'm sure plenty of solid people visit... but I think propaganda plays a huge role In the stigma about it all... as for porter guest saying "most ghosts have never seen a solid" let's keep in mind he seems to be a pretty sheltered guy, so he probably means the people in his area.... just cause someone is a ghost dosent mean their world view is very large.... also its possible that though transportation to and from the ghost is allowed, it disent mean it's easy.... due to the haunting incident, traveling there might be rare, which would add on to why few ghosts (as far as Porters neck of the woods) have seen solids.... also I dint think spectra was ever human since her family is also made up of ghosts....she can still be six teen because monsters age very differently ...also, Draculaura not hearing about it makes sense, she's not exactly a "worldly" person... The phantom of the opera is a solid... also a Banshee can also be interpreted as a type of Fairy.... so Scarah and Operetta being solid really isn't that unusual. Also why do you count Robecca and Elle as undead? They are robots, not reanimated corpses... Also Draculauras aging probably works differently because she wasn't born a vampire. Similarly I think the way ghosts age depends on whether or not they were born a ghost.....also again same thing with zombies, some were born zombies, some became zombies... and that probably affects their aging as well Genies don't succumb to age ... but they can technically be slain .... but they will reincarnate presumably as the same person good as new.... Honey Swamp monster is presumably entirely mortal, perhaps with a rather large lifespan Gargoyles are not immortal but they live vastly long lives and would be hard to kill Long/Chinese Dragons are pretty much immortal, they can be hurt though.... but death isn't really a thing for them. Maybe Elisabat's ability to show up on film is a hint to what makes her different from other vampires, and is a further clue as to why the heart chose her. I think in the case of cleo and her family ... they became mummies because they have bandages blessed by anubis... this is probably why the majority of them seem to be in great condition despite being corpses... I think those who honor anubis probably look better... those who don't, look worse, such as the backgrounder , mr.mummy, And Even Cleos father.... Cleo And Nefera are arrogant but they dint see themselves as beyond the gods... but their fathers ego allows him to see himself as above God's.... hence why the blessed bandages didn't work as well for him.... Also, its possible that blessed bandages were given to royal family members and Mortal Servants.... and perhaps some Servants simply broke ties after resurrection.... this would also explain the backgrounder and Mr.Mummy.... also Seth is a member of royalty as well... Also , Prejudice in schooling isn't even fair fetched in the real world and to this day is real.... I think some of us may take integration and non isolationist thinking for granted.... that's the whole point of monster high, is to offer unity through diversity and is essentially a slap in the face of ignorance... Also.... my rule is, never question the reboot... cause honestly it just don't count... some elements of it were nice though... but it got tone deaf real quick
I should have known i was gay when i obsessed over the dolls and always talked about how pretty and cute they were. Like Dracaulora was my first crush tbh
I think Dayna was actually a character from 1st generation that was gonna have her own movie called Shriekwrecked, but since the reboot was alredy announced they just launch her doll (along side Draculaura, Clawdeen, Lagoona, Gil, Catrine, Rochelle and Goolliope) without the movie. My guess is that the movie was gonna have as main characters Dayna, Draculaura, Clawdeen Lagoona, Rochelle, Catrine, Gil, Goolliope, Vandala and River, curiously it was gonna go after Haunted and Great Scarier Reef both elements which seems were gonna be part of this movie: Dayna's father was mentioned by Vandala while it maybe was gonna happen near The Great Scarier Reef.
The mummy is easily explainable with real world evidence. Mummies weren’t only royalty. Some were rich folks who paid to be mummified while other important figures were mummified.
I prefer the original Monster High cartoon then the reboot because the original have lots of character that I know especially on the CGI movie but the reboot and it's two movie series have missed out some of the characters from the original like Ghoulia, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood, Holt Hyde, Jinafire, Skelita and other characters from the original. But also include Cleo's sister Nefera and Clawdeen's sister Howleen and older brother Clawd. Plus they did start the 6th series before the new reboot which doesn't make sense to me why, I mean they could have a special length episode of where the original Ghouls student graduate from monster high and show in the end of what they have been up to since they left like their career, married and raise a family of their own. That would bring the end of monster high series instead of making the reboot and then cancel it.
Vampires don't show up in mirrors cause mirrors used to have a silver backing or something like that, silver is said to be deadly or at least harmful to all types of monsters so I think that's why elizabat shows up in the films
Hey guys! Don't forget to write your thoughts and questions down in the comments below! Who knows? Maybe I'll make a part 2.
At 6:09 for goulia (I don’t know how to spell her name) she can only was born a zombie confirmed at some kind of event but there is a clip out there where it does say Goulia has a zombie mum and zombie dad who loved each other very much and then they had a zombie child who was once a zombie kid and is now a zombie teen
This is why she does not rot
10:27 isn't Ever After High also in the same universe as Monster High? There’s an episode where Cupid switches schools goes through a portal to get to Ever after high and her body changes, the same thing happens when characters go to the wonder land dimension and “Ghost” dimensions.
Also this? ua-cam.com/video/mTtzH9wwtU0/v-deo.html ,??
The fact that Ever After High and Monster High were supposed to have a crossover but it never happened just irks me. Idk the reboots don’t make sense to me and the cancellation of EAH after ticked me off. We were robbed of what could’ve been the biggest and best thing in cartoon history. I need my closure. I’m pretty sure a lot of fans would watch both shows had they been started up again with the original plots. Idk I just feel like a piece of my childhood is missing and we were robbed of the answers we needed.
Bro we were all absolutely robbed, it seemed like the perfect comfort movie to ever exist
Especially because we have seen cupid in both eah and mh
There is a crossover of Eah and Mh but it’s a book sadly. They never made a movie
Vampires don't age.
Read draculaura's backstory, she's not the biological daughter of Dracula, she was born human from human parents who died, dracula then turned her into a vampire to save her from the plague.
Vampires are in the undead category.
I think they do age though because I thought Draculaura was turned into a vampire when she was a baby?
@@kingdomorange2
Her backstory says she and her mother lived with dracula for years after her father died when she was a baby, then her and her mother got the plague while dracula was away, her mom died before he got back and so he could only save draculaura
@@kingdomorange2 she was turned into vampire, not an original yet. She had to go through the process slowly and I guess it finally finished when she was 16/1600 yrs old which then means she stops aging.
Draculaura had a party for her sweet 1600?? surely that means she would age?
@@eleanorlovests sure the years pass, but Draculaura will never physically ages, she’ll look 16 for the rest of eternity.
I mean, not all cameras use mirrors, specially nowadays.
Also, Vampires do have reflections, they just aren’t reflected by silver, because silver is a pure metal.
Oh that's actually really interesting..lol me trying to figure out exactly how a camera works
So does glass work?
Well that may be true in mythology...but the MH cartoon clearly showed that Draculaura couldn't do her makeup easily because she couldn't see herself in a mirror or during picture day, we couldn't see her face in the picture... What I remember though is this entry in Draculaura's diary where she said that she was so hyped because Cleo found a spell to make her visisble in mirrors... So vampires could achieved to be seen in mirrors, photos or films thanks to certain spells
Can't be seen in silver? Guess it's time to shine for those Greek bronze mirrors
@@juleyse2431 is mentioned that iCoffins have an app that let vampire be seen in photos and etc
THIS!!! ALSO! Why weren’t we given glasses w our doll for her ): they would’ve been so cute
I think she did but she hid it. Right before she shows herself in her trailer, she hides away her glasses, showing she had time to prepare her reactions.
The fact that i watched it last night for the 100000 time..
@@soliasanala3332 ezactly what i thought. Cuz remember shes acting likes shes another peraon.. so she cant show that she knows Draculaura.
Well yeah of course zombies can reproduce. Ghoulia was born a zombie, confirmed by the creators
Ok, Zombies in the MH-universe are people. But aren’t unicorns… animals? Don’t they have the same intelligence as horses? Isn’t that zoophilia?? O.o
@@lenastorm6280 I have a feeling that they would make unicorns like centaurs
@@lenastorm6280 Neighthan's diary outright says that his mom can transform into a "two legged creature" at will, presumably similar to how Neighthan himself looks
@@indigogo5699 Oh! Ok, I didn’t knew that!
I love this video, but I think there are some things that I can clear up.
1. It was confirmed somewhere that Ghoulia was born a zombie. With that in mind, I think that zombies age, but not at the same pace as most mortals (I heard this *somewhere* but I can't find a source ATM)
2. Draculaura does not age. In her diary, she was born a human was turned after almost succumbing to a plage that ravaged her village. Dracula turned her in order to save her life
@Cincoat your comment is so not relevant to OP’s comment they didn’t say anything about oppression 😬
I always wondered why Cleo, a mummy which is technically a type of zombie, never spoke zombie or did things like Ghoulia did.
Lol let's not go down that rabbit hole.
I read that she was tricked into being mummified alive (along with her dad and sister) with magical bandages or something and that the bandages are what keep her able to live a semi-normal life but if she takes them off then her true age shows and she'd likely die
Of course... my memory is pretty bad so I could've gotten things wrong
but cleo can understand zombie as well as the whole school basically and zombies can understand the others languages and communicate
Also, isn't Frankie technically a zombie?...
I thought she was considered like a shadow creature and not a ghost lol
The bogeyman is a monster because he’s basically whatever freaks you out the most. So necessary he could be, but ig that logic doesnt work like that
Twyla is the daughter of a monster with no solid appearance or features, the boogeyman can be anything.
One thing that I never got about monster high is Opereta as a character,
in both the phantom of the opera musical and novel the Phantom himself isn't a monster nor a ghost, he's just a man living under the opera house with a facial disfigurement hence the mask. it's just odd to me that considering this opereta is considered a phantom herself
Personally I assume he perished in the fire at the opera house at the end of the story and became an actual Phantom? Idk tho
Maybe it’s more the concept of the phantom itself?
i mean isn’t she just considered the daughter of the phantom? they never really specified which one LMAO
Of course it's a small detail that I think not many noticed but i feel like it would make more sense if they made her have a similar and/or same heart instead of a completly diffrent one
honestly i think it wouldve been a cool detail to add for viewers to remember later, like how they id with Clawdia in 13 Wishes
Not all mirrors work on vampires only ones that havve zero silver in them
the tech we have today would mean that vampires would show up on camera
maybe Draculaura isnt using "special vampire makeup that makes you appear in mirrors" like she should?
Maybe its like real life where fancy vampire makeup is super expensive and high end and since shes only a teenager she uses the cheap stuff that they sell anywhere for anyone
@@tornadodee148 probably expensive as heck 😔✌️
what also sucks is the fact that they had plans for a Crossover Film between Monster High & Ever After High, but they never made it for Stupid reasons, That film could have been the Perfect Finale to both series before they Rebooted Monster High, but we never got the chance to see the finished film, which totally Bites(no pun intended).

It's hard to sell dolls if your characters aren't doll compatible.
because they can jus t add in new girls to make new dolls the side characters don't need to be prominent and so they don't need to be dolls
The mummies could’ve been easily explained if they said that only mummy royalty could wake up since back then only Egyptian royalty was mummified
There was supoosed to be a crossover movie but they cancelled it i think
I remember hearing that but it is annoying that the people of Ever After High don’t believe that Monsters exist considering they are storybook characters and do have some monsters and creatures found at Monster High and Cupid appeared one day out of nowhere literally to those same people and no one ever questioned where she came from. I just want to hear why the people of Ever After High don’t believe in Monsters existing.
@@moonstone6133 they made a crossover book instead tho
I remember from somewhere saying that headmaster Grimm made Cupid promise not to say anything about monster high
I think that was just an animation choice but there was a crossover movie that got cancelled
Maybe their “monster age” is based on their physical age and all the monsters (except for the immortals) age differently. As for vampires maybe they age like normal humans until about their teen years and then it slows down.
I assumed it was how long she had been a monster? Like she dies, becomes a monster and her monster age starts from zero almost like a rebirth
Honestly I think MH is one of those stories that you don't try digging too much into and you just have to accept it as is.

Check this out:
Using the source material of Operetta's father (yes, we're talking about the OG Phantom of the Opera)
The reason she's both is because he's both.
The original phantom could walk through walls, and even appeared to fly at one point if memory serves, from when I read the book like 8-10 years ago.
I heard something about the stare wouldnt work if medusa saw something uglier than she was?
Also, the monster in the myth wasn't a kraken. It was a sea monster called Cetus. It is sometimes called the Kraken, but that's been used as a catch-all term for sea monsters I've noticed. I'm guessing you're more familiar with the clash of the Titans movie?
I think the ghost world thing shouldn't apply to banshees at all because traditionally they are fae, not spirits, tho in MH they are some type of ghost
My thoughts exactly. The word literally means “fairy woman”
Traditionally they are fae but in western folklore they’ve adopted to be more like ghost creatures.

Not to mention when they did an episode about Toralei’s back story it showed Frankie Draculaura and Clawdeen as part of the fearleading team
I find it weird humans exist in the monster high world for one movie.. and lived down the street from monster high....... Yet abandoned the idea and made the monster world an alt of our world Paris scaris. New York city boo york
Edit you addressed it
I don't really like the idea of the world just being inhabited by monsters because I feel like it takes away the specialness of Monster High.
@@drewhaynes1874 there may be a separate fairytale world from the monster/human world

@@crys_cornflakez yes, definitely! I mentioned that with movies timeline a and movies timeline b 😅
I think my biggest thing about Monster High that doesn't make sense is how come Lagoona isn't considered a hybrid?
The age gap between Draculaura and Clawd. She's 1600 and she used to baby sit him when he was a puppy. My mind was blown when that revaluation came out. Since she baby sat him, that means she would have changed his dirty nappies and saw his.... You know...
So awkward....
Wait bro what
Where did you find that out???
really?? because I remember a similar line that Clawdeen told her younger sister when she was having a crush on another werewolf during the moon season or something.
Ugh, why did they have to make it weird like this?? :{

The fun stuff about Mummy's magical bandages is that, sometimes you barely see them with any bandages at all in certain series.
About Elizabat. What I think is a funny guess on how she shows up on screens is that she coats herself with light makeup. Because as we’ve seen in the show and (I think) some movies, Draculaura’s makeup is almost always reflected back in mirrors (especially clear in scenes where she puts on makeup) and maybe contacts or something
Just a silly idea tho
We see something similar with the Ghost world in one movie, but hearing everything else has me doubting now 😅
They put so much effort into their hair in the 3D animation. Looks amazing, i was in awe when watching it as a kid
In 6:50,
I think Rochelle is undead/mortal. Her stone body may have physically ageing.
Jinafire is similar to Draculaura. She may age slowly
Honey swamp and Gigi is mortal. Gigi no longer be a genie that make wish. She may starts ageing.
The Ptolemy family is royalty too im pretty sure?? Seth’s stage name was literally Pharaoh, and they were in an arranged marriage…
I mean in all honesty they could've been really distant cousins as it wasn't uncommon for siblings to get married, but I'm highly confident Monster High would never ever touch on that topic.
There was a Pharaoh at one point in history that was named Ptolemy although he wasn't an Egyptian. Maybe they tool the name from that.
@@paytynbutler2007 Yeah but that means he would be royalty.
only some mummy’s are alive because they have a special wraps, so because cleo is royalty they had acces to it while she was alive, causing her to not die, so her body was preserved, and some ghosts died, like spectra(told in her diary) and some were born ghosts because of parents(river)
You have to keep this in mind, the show and films were made with the purpose of selling toys, they don’t care about consistency and lore. You’re going to get plot holes and unanswered questions.
true! ever after high has the same problem.
Spoilerssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
@@kingdomorange2 it's not spoiler, it's literally on the movie's trailer
Old cameras used a mirror inside, new digital cameras have sensors in them, that might be why vampires can have pictures taken
Ok ngl I had no idea that monster high had deep back stories
Holy shit draculauras was dark AF
Elissabat's father was royalty and he mysteriously disappeared (most likely assassinated)
For your second point, I think the monsters being ferried across are dead, new ghosts who dont remember their living lives
In ancient Egypt you would only get mummified if you can afford it.
Honestly I think MH is one of those stories that you don't try digging too much into and you just have to accept it as is.
It has so many versions, dolls, films ,web series etc I think it's natural that this would happen.

Basically we're not supposed to overthink it but we are overthinking it😅
Vampires had no reflection because a lot of old mirrors were made with a backing of silver.
And them being afraid of solids could be that they lost most of their memories of being alive( for those that were initially human) or that they have stayed as ghosts for so long that they fear solid creatures?
something I thought about a lot last year:
monster high official release was 15 days after frankie's creation I believe. and the monster high timeline follows the 2010s. this means that right now frankie is 12 years old and will spend almost 18 years in high school. Gen 1 frankie will graduate with class of 2028
Next, since the monsters and humans live in the same world, we have diverse monsters in the USA, Romania and Japan have vampires, etc.
11:50 this is the crustiest CGI ever
Lol I know! it looks terrible. Who approved this?
@@kingdomorange2 crazy people approved it. Lol
What weirds me out the most is that some characters are literally old (chronologically) and are going to high school. Like, not aging shouldn't affect your ability to graduate. When you finish a class, you're done unless you failed and have to retake it, making it look like Draculaura has been flunking for centuries 💀
Well you can't graduate characters if you want to keep them in the high school setting😂
If series and films with actual actors and actresses could stop humans from aging, some series would go on and on keeping the characters in high school(or uni) or whatever school stage they want to maintain them at.
I know that Clawd and Spectra are victims of the trademark being lost or inactive.
the easiest way to understand the monster high cannon or at least for younger me was that the movies aren’t cannon to the webisodes and vice versa
Draculaura doesn't age! She was adopted by dracula and was turned.
For the vampire queen one, the weirdest thing for me is how the heart appeared in Rebecca's chest. Because Frankie and the ghouls rebuilted her in a previous movie so they obviously would've seen it
Robecca*
I might be misremembering... But Deuce Gorgon's pet is Perseus and I remember somewhere it mentioned that his mother didn't like the name (seeing that it's the name of the Greek hero that beheaded her). And since Posea Reef is daughter of Poseidon... Does that mean Greek Myths are real? And if they are doesn't that mean that Medusa is immortal since she's been behead and lived? And does that mean Deuce is also immortal as well?
But Deuce is also half normie since his father (biological) is one. So I would rather said he is longlived than immortal.
9:59 his last name is pronounced ‘tolemy’ so basically the p is silent like in pterodactyl
Similarly I think the way ghosts age depends on whether or not they were born a ghost.....also again same thing with zombies, some were born zombies, some became zombies... and that probably affects their aging as well
Genies don't succumb to age ... but they can technically be slain .... but they will reincarnate presumably as the same person good as new....
Honey Swamp monster is presumably entirely mortal, perhaps with a rather large lifespan
Gargoyles are not immortal but they live vastly long lives and would be hard to kill
Long/Chinese Dragons are pretty much immortal, they can be hurt though.... but death isn't really a thing for them.
Question: why does ghost fashion include chains?
Also why does spectra get a whole new look when she enters the ghost realm?
I should have known i was gay when i obsessed over the dolls and always talked about how pretty and cute they were. Like Dracaulora was my first crush tbh
I think River Styx is meant to ferry around the monsters/normies that just died- but that’s just me.
