    Tecumseh is great for beginners if you enjoy walking up stairs for hours and hours, Im one of the few who found it to be a tough one. Anything with a consistent incline is always rough.

    This was a great idea for a video. It seems like a lot of the videos of the AT in New Hampshire show these heavy-duty climbs and rock scrambles in the Presidentials. I have hiked Mt. Washington myself (and it was no walk in the park, at least for me). So you can get pretty intimidated by the Whites before you even get there. But your videos show some really nice day hikes that get you right up into the nice views with just the right amount of challenge. It's nice to know that the Whites can be so accessible.

    • @TaylortheNahamshaHiker
      @TaylortheNahamshaHiker  4 роки тому

      Thanks! I hope people can watch the videos and then want to hike it themselves. Maybe watching me do the hike first makes the mountains look less intimidating. My next video is actually a mt.washington day hike, I’m trying to show a big variety of hikes.

      @@TaylortheNahamshaHiker I hiked Mt. Washington with my son when he was 10 years old. Instead of doing the standard Tuckerman Ravine route, I decided to go up Boott Spur, thinking the more gradual climb would be easier on him. Well, it was still pretty steep, and the uphill was constant, so it turned out to be more challenging than I had intended. He pulled through like a champion, though, even after it started raining once we cleared the tree-line. We had packed fleeces, hats and rain gear, so we were OK. It was quite a memorable hike, though. Luckily, my wife met us at the summit, having driven up the white-knuckle road and waited for us to arrive on foot.

    My first 4K was Monroe via Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and I found it be very easy. The week before I did Little Haystack, a week prior to that I did Sandwich Peak via S. M. Trail and that was the 2nd hardest trail I’ve hiked so far. The hardest was when a friend & I did all 3 Tripyramids, going up Pine Bend Brook Trail and down Sabbaday Brook Trail (mostly in the dark.)

    My wife and I were driving south from southern Maine today. Around Conway we saw a large mountain directly south. I thought for sure it was the north side of Chocorua but you can't see the point top. About the time we passed the Piper Trail trailhead, we seemed to be on the east side of Chocorua but my wife wasn't buying it. I tried to find some youtube videos looking south from the Conway area but I had no luck. Can you point me to anything you might have done and posted?

    These are good to know. We are working our 4-year-old up to her first 4Ks shes at 4 miles so far with moderate grades. What was the lake behind you at the beginning? Looked like Northwood lake!

      That's exciting, I love seeing kids out there. and that was just a lake in my neighborhood. It's a really pretty spot for filming intros

    Another great video. But beginner level is driving up Mt Washington and hiking across the car park, remembering to rub some dirt on your face and mess up your hair while you're queuing to take your selfie haha ;)

    You didn’t include the hiking time for Mount Pierce. I always considered Mt Halel the easiest first hike.

    i just restarted my 48s.. i saw the video prior to going up yesterday.. unfortunately nothing like what i saw on pierce which was rain wet and clouds.. you didnt miss much on the M Hut.. its closed now and that trail is a mess (your dog would have hated it imo). Nice video, what camera are you using?

    Thank you! Did you ever do Nineteen Mile Brook Trail? My cousin and I did an overnighter up there in '75 or'76.
