    I never understood how people don’t wash their hair for more than 2 weeks. My hair is high porosity so it easily builds up. So I wash every Friday or Saturday. I started this around a month ago and it’s grown more than 2 inches. Mind you I use to wash it every other day I was stuck at 5/6 inches for a longgg time.

    TIP: A SATIN SCRUNCHY HELPS SO MUCH WITH YOUR HAIR, I TRIED IT AND I NOTICED LIKE HALF AN INCH IN MY HAIR GROWTH IN A WEEK. IT WORKS SO MUCH BECAUSE A SATIN MATERIAL DOSN’T PULL OR SHEED YOUR HAIR LIKE COTTON DOES SO, GET A SATIN PILLOW CASE OR JUST WEAR A SATIN BONET TO SLEEP IN AND I PROMISE YOU’LL SEE A DIFFERENCE.

    I've also discovered from either a Live Strong article or another one on the web that consuming too much alcohol, white flour, sugar, salt, and caffeine can also slow the growth of your hair as well. And to say the least out of all of these, I would say the sugar and caffeine are my biggest weakness.
    And you are so right in regards to learning hair type and porosity type as well. Just the thing is for me, having combination of different textures and I can only imagine porosities as well. It's tricky, figuring out which products are the best for me. But from watching your videos and others. I've been making notes of what is working for different people and once I purchase them for myself. I make note what I like, don't like about it. And if it's truly working for me or not.

    Heat damage, trim hair, moisturize hair, wash your hair 1-2x a week/month, stop brushing/combing hair so much, manipulating hair too much, set angle hair with slick..conditioner, protect hair during sleep (silk bonnet or pillow case), wrong products (learn hair type and prosperity), massage scalp with oil to stimulate, drink enough water and take care of yourself!

    I'm male and my hair grows fast until a certain length and I wash every day because my hair is thick as Nicki Minaj and it is hard as shit to comb even with a afro pick

    • @LydiaTefera
      @LydiaTefera  6 років тому +1

      It may be that your hair is growing but since your hair is so thick you probably have a lot of shrinkage so you Hair won’t show it’s true length! I have a lot of shrinkage too so I know the struggle!!

    • @Shaun_Remington869
      @Shaun_Remington869 6 років тому +1

      Lydia Tefera is there anything that can be done

    • @LydiaTefera
      @LydiaTefera  6 років тому +1

      I personally just try to embrace my shrinkage cause it means that my hair is healthy but you can try maybe use some heavier products that weigh now your hair to get it to appear longer but you may lose some volume

    Ok... so here is my situation when it comes to hair growth... I finally did the big chop... went to a deva certified specialist on Eastern Long Island because that's what you do right, you are supposed to go to a person that knows what they are doing right? Well that was a mistake... she hacked the back and left most of the damage in the front saying that's the IN style.... well in or out, my hair looked like dog poo... lol, so although I have no idea how to cut hair I ended up cutting it my self. Figured it looked terrible anyway, and since it was already damaged I couldn't possibly cause anymore so off the rest went. Believe it or not it looked better.... but since I had starved my hair of moisture all my adult life it was just frizz really... no curl to speak of unless I manually did little Shirley Temple curls with a comb.... BUT as the days and weeks went on obsessively conditioning it, it started to change. The curls started to sprout... and my hair as it got moisturized started to relax... I call it curl rehabbing now... lol... so now 2 months post big chop, I have little twisty curls everywhere, and I have no real shedding going on like the begining... and it is getting fuller by the day, but no length.... I do pretty much everything and more.... I take hairfinity and my regular supplements... drink plenty of water and eat as healthy as possible. I'm thinking there is so e type of shock factor going on and that eventually it will just start... by as for now, nothing... weird right?

    2B HAIR FOR THE WIN!!
    I'm convinced that my hair grows faster when I'm drinking really good quality bone broth regularly, especially if it's homemade beef bone broth. I get it from my local butcher, and they get their meat from local farms that pasture raise their animals. It has SO MUCH ANIMAL GELATIN, which is bomb for hair (and nails)!
