- We're spending one day in Ouray, Colorado. We hike into the Box Canyon Falls and stroll through the Baby Bathtub trail. After that we head to the community hot spring. This hot spring water park has five pools to soak in and two waterslides! Later we take a walk downtown and drive on the million dollar highway to find dispersed camping. After we make it to a camping site Kellie cooks veggies quesadillas for dinner.

If I remember correctly the orange color of creek water is from mine tailings hence possibly not drinkable. ⛏

One cool route is to go south to Leadville, then to Twin Lakes and over the Continental Divide down into Aspen. While in Leadville, DO NOT MISS the mining museum.
Cody, keep a small container of milk and drink after eating hot food to help alleviate the burn ❤️🔥. It really works!! Great vlog ❤

The red staining of the river is most likely from iron/iron ore in the rocks.😊
I love Colorado. I lived in Colorado when I was in my early 20’s. I would go out hiking in the mountains just about every weekend.
The orange water is from mine tailings and often drainage from the old mines.
Copper leached water.

I stayed at a dude Ranch in Ouray, Colorado over 25 years ago, and visited Telluride and Durango...one of the best trips I ever made
I always get a headache after being in the Ouray hot springs. Next time, try the Orvis hot springs down the road just south of Ridgway. Probably more your style too.

We love Ouray....cannot beat those hot springs!!!!! You might want to ride the railroad in Silverton and Durango while you are there....beautiful area....have fun!

We've been there and loved it, too. We didn't do the hot springs, though. Maybe next time. Happy camping 😊.
Nice video, we will be in Ouray Sept 12-13 ish. Will differently do the waterfalls and maybe the pool. Truck camper too. Do you have the coordinate to the camping spot? Or directions please. Could you tell if there were fish? We will be rambling around CO for a month from our home in Prescott, AZ leaving Sept 5.

Cody, I love you guys….but youbare still saying it incorrectly….it is YOU-ray, not your-ray! Just fyi! 😊Keep your great vids coming. And Telluride gets my vote for prettier than Ouray. I was luck enough to live in T-ride for two years back before you two were born…in the late 70’s when the Main Street was still dirt. Still one of the best times in my life! I lived in my tent or friends’ tepees up Eider Creek (about 3 miles out from town) in the summers, and in town during winter. Have lived in some neat places….Montana for 16yrs, Sedona for 6 yrs, now traveling around in my Suby after 4 yrs in Fayetteville, Arkansas

Another awesome video. We LOVE Colorado. As a matter of fact, we have escaped the Texas heat and are in Lake City, CO with our Jeep now. Plan on going to Ouray over the pass. Beautiful place to be. Enjoy and safe travels
We were just there around Ouray and Silverton a few days ago with our truck camper. We dispersed camped along the Million Dollar Highway one night between the two towns. We were at over 9,700’ next to Red Mountain Creek and when we woke up the next morning it was 39°. Kind of noisy being adjacent to the highway but a good spot nonetheless!

Hi guys! I love this little town and the area u r in! The Million $ Hwy is spectacular! If u stay a few weeks more u can catch the beauty of the fall colors! The drive between Durango and Ourey is gorgemous in the Fall! The train ride from Durango to Silverton is a must if u havnt ever been on it! I have been on it 3 times! Nice campsite and yummy dinner (Kellie's little seat dance says it all)! Thanks for the tag-along and safe travels till next time🌞✌️
I love ouray co. I was there in May of this year. I drove south on the 550 WOW AMAZING I hope to go back next year.
Cody, I hope u know that u shouldn’t spend more than 10 minutes in the hot tub or hot springs. The heat will dry the moisture in the muscles which is where elasticity comes from. I learned that the hard way a number of years ago. Hope u feel better. Back problems are not fun. Enjoy your content. Keep up the good work.

Telluride Colorado is another beautiful town. If you have not been there, i highly recommend.
I think Telluride is somewhat more beautiful that Ouray. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t been there.
Wonder where your heading next. We r on the way out to Colorado as we speak. We r hiking segments 7-10 of the Colorado Trail. That would be awesome to see y’all while out there!!

You would love Hot Sulphur Springs in northern Colorado, one of their pools has a hot waterfall you can stand under and massage your shoulders. I think there are twenty-some pools there.
We’ve been eating the same brand salsa verde on our black bean, rice and chicken burritos! They make great salsa! Love your adventures!

I heard part of the reason for the orangy color of the water in Ouray is due to the gold mine tailings flowing into the river and creeks. Bring your own drinking water! I've been through Ouray with family decades ago and forgot how beautiful the Colorado mountains are! And those natural waterfalls! SO amazing. I believe there is also an amazing Mexican restaurant in downtown Ouray that for some reason always stayed in my mind, even to this day 😄Good times, good food! That's what memories are made of! Thanks for sharing!

Love that area.....Silverton to Ouray is gorgeous. Lots of great camping in the Weminuche Wilderness . The absolute best drinking water.

No freaking way! My wife and I just stayed in that exact spot on the 26th. Crazy to think we just missed you, small world.
I'll be in Santa Fe, NM and hopefully Colorado Springs next month. A 5 hour drive but seems it'd be worth it for that waterfall, lol! So cool. Now I've got the Grottos Trail near Aspen picked out separately as well after searching around on google maps. Thanks for the suggestion!
