Would applying SUMEbore, going through the diamond honing process up to 1,200 grit and adding gas ported gapless rings help keep E85 out of the oil of my 392 Gen 3 Hemi?
@@mbdulka Optimal would've been to not weaken the block and introduce differential metals which can result in galvanic corrosion, and have different expansion and contraction rates, increasing the likelihood of head gasket failure. Also ductile iron sleeves will wear faster than nikasil coated alum bore...
Asked them for a price once and Sume europe quoted 30k for a 4cyl engine. Total Joke, they were literally taking the piss or that person that answered the email was tryna get the company in trouble and give them a bad rep
How are rings supposed to rotate at 3-4 rpm without an effective cross hatch?
Awesome technology.
Thanks for sharing guys.
Have a great day. 👍👍
Thank you! You too!

Ductile iron sleeves are only for diesels anymore, how about a comparison between plasma spray and nikasil!
My 700 HP Subaru runs Darton ductile iron sleeves without issue ... vrroom, vrrooom.
@@mbdulka No doubt they work, but they're not optimal and you're adding unnecessary weight/weakness to the block...
@@beachboardfan9544 What is optimal to you? For running 2.5 times more HP than stock?

Are these guys real Americans? No belly, no jowls, only one chin. Very suspect!

It is not that expensive. I just had 4 cylinders coated for $1,200
@@themotoroilgeek thanks for answering, where was this? does total seal make the rings suitable for the finished cyl?
@@themotoroilgeekwhere’d you get that done for that price? I was thinking of possibly doing this for an upcoming engine build.
If you can squeeze a Porsche jug .002" by hand that ring pack is out of control while running. They wouldn't last very long at all.
This is just a commercial. When shit goes bad with coatings it goes REALLY BAD! No high horse motor is gonna use that.
