I’m an artist and a songwriter trying to make it in LA, I met Amy once when I was assisting at a studio where I worked (maybe 3 years ago) and she is literally the nicest, the most humble person ever. So glad to see her succeed ❤️
For Christmas I got the Short n Sweet on vinyl. I took out the credit sheet and read it and noticed that a writer I didn’t know yet was on all the songs! Literally every one. And I told myself to look her up. And then boom. Saw this video. Wow! Such a great interview!
Thank you so much for these incredible interviews, it’s really interesting getting the perspective of somebody not the artist who’s involved in the creative process
This series is the perfect Mix of behind the scenes, inspiration and entertainment. You satisfy a curiosity I wasn’t aware was so big in me and create the curiosity of „I wanna listen to everything the guest is involved in now“. Thank you!
This was a FANTASTIC interview. So inspiring and interesting. Amy is a very special person and an extraordinary artist. You are doing an amazing and important job Daniel. Thank you!!
Thanks for making these interviews. I really enjoy hearing the success stories, and especially in Amy's case being from Maine, the exact opposite side of the US from LA. It makes it seem more human some how. With smart, hard work, persistence, and a little luck sprinkled in, its possible. Congrats to both of you!
Jackyn!!! Appreciate you for checking it out and always supporting. Everyone check out Jacklyn's content! One of the best tech creators on the platform!
@@DanielsWall Absolutely love your content Daniel, every video is really a treasure chest of knowledge! The main takeaways for me would be to surround yourself with people as excited and passionate about your vision as yourself and genuinely enjoy working on your craft, just like Amy does.
Good interview. What I ALWAYS wonder with songwriters like Amy and nobody EVER covers in detail is how did you go from writing songs in your life to getting them to major artists, etc. What's the "HOW" of all of that? I've been writing songs for 25 yrs that Adele would sound great, Taylor Swift would sound great, Miley would sound great, like legit "hooky" pop songs, but never once have I had a clue or an avenue to get them the songs. 🤔🙃
You need to be in the right place, the right time unfortunately... Some happy coincidences.. also the town/city you reside, your circle of friends... All is really hard to pull off I guess. There's so many people with awesome talent, great songs, but they just don't have a way to pitch them to those top artists:(
Super random but I've been watching a lot of these podcasts and I think if you created a discord server it'd be great- right now I feel like there is such a big gap between someone like Amy Allen and someone just starting off and having a space where the next generation of songwriter / musicians can connect in a casual way would be great. JUST AN IDEA- thanks for these interviews 🙏
Thank you for checking out the full interview! Been thinking of putting something together some day soon that I believe will truly give many people value, but still figuring out what that is. Always open to ideas!
I’m an independent artist form the uk, I have an issue with people using ghost writers because I feel like writers aren’t authentic to them self, I produce and write my own stuff coz absolutely I wouldn’t want a single of mine to go number one and someone else take a certain percentage of my income.. like why can’t anyone write their own stuff anymore. It really bothers me.
@@DanielsWall I enjoy them so so much!! From this podcast, I would say it's that songwriting is accessible - its not some mystical, unachievable, geniuses-only art form. Persistence is the key to unlocking success (as long as you love it, that's a must!). Songwriting is best when you reach in and pull out the human experience, your deepest emotions, your authentic self. Also, I loved it when she said she realized she could be playful with her lyrics; that seriousness has a place, but it's also ok to just have fun. You are the absolute perfect host, I am so glad you are making these - you and your guests truly inspire me! 😌🙏
Appreciate you!!!! Some of my favorite songs by Amy are unafraid, Queen of Silver Linings, Difficult, even forever, and Heaven By the way, what was one of your favorite stories from this interview?
can't believe you had this opportunity and not ask her about working with the biggest artist she's ever worked with - Justin Timberlake and his latest album. She wrote some great tracks on it! Nevertheless, this interview/conversation was great and insightful!
We’re so lucky to have access to these legends. Thank you Daniel. You’re a gem, thank you for bringing us behind the wall with you
Means the world, Zach!
I love this channel

@ it actually was taken 😭😭 I wish I caught it before!
what about using the year you were born instead?;-) or cooperlina?
Daniel, this is the first time I’ve been invested in a UA-cam channel. What you are bringing is so special. Please keep going.

Hearing her story it’s amazing how things lined up for her (not to discount all the hard work she did to get herself there of course)
Yessss. I have such a songwriting crush on her, haha!
I was hoping you’d get to interview Amy Allen! And, like all of your others, this one did not disappoint. It was a delight to hear her story!

I love this and these talks with songwriters
I think the singular thing that comes through most from this video is her humility
I’ve been looking forward to this one! she’s a HUGE inspiration of mine.
