I don't see what's so L about Jiraiya. If anything the man is a lesson that life won't always go your way, but you gotta still keep on moving forward despite those failures. Despite the unfairness. By the end of his life he found happiness in the company of many people in his life. His relationship with Tsunade was amicable despite not reaching full circle. His bond with Naruto filled a void in his soul he never thought he would heal. And on top of that he taught that loser of a kid and made his life more prepared for the hardships he knew he would face in the future. He taught Naruto many of the skills that would catapult him into being one of the most respectable Shinobi in the world. He's what got Naruto started to honing his skills as a ninja and as a result of that nurtured and prepared one of the greatest assets to the Leaf village. He also indirectly paved the way to future friendships Naruto would have with other people, making their lives all the better for having the opportunity to know him. Not just in physical support, but emotional as well. Let's also not forget that Jiraiya's Intel on Pain was instrumental in taking him down and saving the Leaf, as well as the world for that matter. Without the Leaf village the Shinobi world wouldn't have survived the fight against Madara and the 4th Great Ninja War. Yeah the man was quite the loser......shut up Six

Obito even states that in the end he ended up losing to Jiraya because it's his teaching and his nindo that live on in Naruto and ended up foiling his plans. Jiraiya is a great character who rises above dumbass power scaling. He’s written well and has an important narrative role and his failures only make him more human and a relatable character. Naruto should have ended after Pain anyway the reason the community only really cares about characters based on power is because of everything after that.

These guys are stupid, he's not a loser, he was the foundation for Naruto's story. Iruka didn't teach him ninjutsu shit, Kakashi only taught him about Chakra control, it was Jiraiya that Taught this guy his fighting styles, the Rasengan, his most powerful move, and sacrificed his life in turn helping naruto to attain sage mode and eventually defeat Pain. He is in all terms a good Teacher, and may i remind you That He trained Minato, Yahiko, Nagato, Konan, and Naruto, this guy has taught 4 leaders, he's a total beast. The only reason he couldn't beat PAIN was because first of all he was not fully aware of the rinnegans abilities, and second he didn't summon a whole bunch of Frogs, like Naruto did, and besides its a fact that PAIN is stronger in the Rain village, so yeh. I mean the guy was even known by Isshiki, basically the Leader of the Otsutsuki, and strongest, and notice that Amado made a clone of jiraiya and know other shinobi.
