The battery indicator doesn't light up when plugged in not even when on battery. I tried both with/out the battery. Fans don't even spin, just nothing. Hi, if I lost admin access is there a part that I can replace to use my laptop again? First it was asking for a Microsoft key product. Then I bought it and I don’t know what I did but I ended up losing admin access. Thank you!
No, you just have to boot another OS (from a USB stick, or a Windows repair CD etc.), then you can access and alter all files on your hard drive, including the one with the admin password
Thank you, step 1 worked. Holding the power button in for a minute a couple times worked. I was about to unscrew everything on my Asus laptop, but then bam! It switched back on good as new.

Hello my laptop turnes off during use randomly and after that it's completely dead. The charger light doesn't work too. The first step of your video works for me. Can i say it's a charger problem now?
So I accidentally spilt some lemonade last night, I cleaned it off and it was working fine, it’s morning now and I’ve been trying to charge it, and it’s not charging or working. I’m using a asus laptop, and the orange battery light is present when charging, but goes away when I’m not
I've owned a G512LV-ES74 (Asus Rog Strix G15, 2020) for 3 years, and I recently opened up my laptop to clean the fans. After disconnecting the battery connector and fan connectors, cleaning the fans, and putting everything back, my laptop will not turn on. I've done it before (sometime in 2022), but this time, there is no signs of life at all. Charging indicator does not light up when plugged, rgb lights won't turn on, nothing. I don't know how to remove the battery (only disconnect the connector), so I haven't tried that method you mentioned. I'm thinking I did something wrong (maybe forgot to plug something or something else) but I don't know, as I've doubled checked and remember plugging in everything I unplugged. There was no update beforehand, no spills, no overheating, etc. It worked completely normal last night. Could a battery or charger really die all of a sudden in the morning when the previous night it was completely fine?
In order to perform the power drain test, you only need to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. As long as its disconnected, plastically removing it is not needed :) If the computer worked before I enter it but does not work after, my first assumption is that I left something disconnected or loose. Does this help review all the connections? ua-cam.com/video/GLHCXWc1gbo/v-deo.html
Really appreciate your help, got liquid on my laptop but remove it asap but for two days it won’t work Saw your video and did all the steps and it worked!! Thank you so much man you helped me and helped my work!
My Asus has an internal battery, so I opened it as you suggested and disconnected the battery ribbon. This powers up the machine, so I reconnected the battery. The battery light indicator indicates it is charging, as does the battery icon in the OS as well, but... it seems to be stuck permanently at 6% charge. Should I assume this means the battery is just dead/defective? It's a bit of a bummer since I only bought the laptop new a month ago, but I guess at least it wouldn't be an overly difficult thing to replace.
You can try the steps seen here: ua-cam.com/video/uBr5XmtmKKM/v-deo.html. However, if the battery still wont charge and is still new, I would return it or apply for a warranty repair.
@@PC_Monkey Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't seeing much in the way of updates my computer wanted to download, so I tried uninstalling the battery drivers themselves from the device manager. Seemingly when it had to reinstall them again that fixed the problem.
5:43 is this true with most batteries, even iPad internal batteries? I thought a Lithium battery's health was dependent on remaining mostly charged and never exhausting it to zero. Thanks!
Common mistake. Leaving a lithium battery always plugged in actually damages the battery. I wouldnt bring it to 0, but it should still charge and discharge regularly. A lot of gamers with expensive computers actually install software at times to keep the battery from ever being charged all the way to 100% for this reason
hey bud, how's it goin'... I'm having no power issue with TUF a17 2021.... Last time it was turned off there was a cellphone charging, and a wacom pen display was connected via hdmi ( hdmi plugs into radeon and not the rtx 3070 graphics ) I believe this combo produced the issue... anyways I tried removing the adapter , removing the battery, cleaing static charge... nadda... then a couple days later I did the same and it powered up and turned on just on battery... another issue appeared... when the laptop is closed and not turned off and you open the lid, sometimes it is impossible to enter pass.... this is how it booted this last time... i did a restart trough win...same thing couldn't input pass.. the I did a shutdown, and again no power issue... When I connect the charger the battery light is white = 100%.... I also tried removing RAM didnt help... Only thing I can think off is going to my friends garage and use the multimeter tool to measure the charge on ac adapter and on battery.... If you have any other suggestion ; I would appreciate it.... by the way this model doesnt have a coin cell battery to clear CMOS (spoke with ASUS).. have a good one....

I ran out to see the fireworks!🎆 When I came back the laptop was dead except that it was very warm and the status indicator was blinking white/blue (turns red when charging - same lamp). To get it working again I pressed the power button for 10 seconds or so. Then I waited for the laptop to cool down. Then I could turn it on again! Thanks for the video! I used the Nvidia GFX. When I’d plug it in the keys and power button would occasionally turn on, but after 2-3 seconds it would turn off. There may have been an update that went thru overnight, but I’m not 100% sure. I tried the options that were possible without opening the bottom (internal battery). Do you have any advice? I may possibly be able to get to the battery, but if I have to send it to ASUS I wouldn’t want them to charge me for tampering. Thank you so much for your help!

If this happens only every once and a while, its most likely not a bit issue. If it happens often, you may need to replace the charger or battery most likely
I see... It does happen often these days... And this laptop is new. It still charge when plugged. Maybe the battery is busted. Although.. speaking of charger, it comes with 2 type. Light (c-type 100w) and heavy (normal 220w). Maybe its because i constantly use the heavy one? Anyway thanks for responding

Hi PC monkey PLEASE HELP PLEASE my ASUS TUF A17 laptop started having problems last week after it was updated. When I tried restarting it it said it ran into a problem and then showed automatic repair. I don’t properly remember, but there was an option saying 'repair' (I don't remember). It said some recently downloaded files may be deleted, or some things. I pressed 'yes' as I didn’t install things recently. @@itserfan0017 Just so you know, liquid spill situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty. After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

I have an Asus vivobook e510ma. My battery used to work fine, i even left it for an hour running last night on purpose to discharge it. I checked powercfg /energy to see the battery life and thought discharging was important after seeing a few comments. Now my pc wont turn on without the charger and it constantly keeps 30% and turns off if unplugged, not ever moving from 30. When I checked my battery life, the last charge capacity was 32% of the design capacity. Did discharging cause this and why was it working fine before? edit: fixed typo
It seems to be in food shape, I left it off and charging for about an hour and then re-used another method which was restarting it normally and then when the logo pops up, holding the power button for 10+ seconds. Im assuming its charging now, the light isnt blinking orange and it isnt turning on so it should be good to go.
So, if my laptop is plugged in and I try holding down the power button for 30 seconds, it doesn't start up, but if I unplug the power cord (charger) and then press the button for 30 seconds, my laptop will turn on, but is slow to start up. This just started happening after almost a year of no problems. You're saying that we need to deenergize the internal components, which is understandable, but not sure why this would affect startup. This is the first laptop I've ever owned with this problem. My spouse has owned an Asus laptop for 5 years and his has never had this problem. It seems to me that either the charger, internal battery or internal power switching module is the culprit, but most likely in my case it's the charger.

Hey, my laptop suddenly died on me. Went away(while it was on battery), came back shortly after, and the screen was black; the indicators also didn't light on. I've tried everything so far. The battery indicator doesn't light up when plugged in not even when on battery. I tried both with/out the battery. Fans don't even spin, just nothing. I can't try another RAM, the other one I got has a different plug-in. The power diode just beeps but nothing happens. Is there any way you could help out?

Sorry for the late response. I've tried all the steps you've shown. There was nothing unusual with the laptop. It was used like every other day before. @@PC_Monkey
@@luke_angelo If, after all these steps, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; ua-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/v-deo.html. You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

I used my laptop on an IKEA pad for laptops, but I used it upside-down on the soft side. One minute before midnight I quickly without thinking put the laptop on a chair and the IKEA-pad on top. Perhaps if I had used only the Intel integrated graphics it would not have become so warm.

Hey! I have an ASUS ROG flow x16, model GV601V1-cs94. The other night it was working, then the next morning it wouldn’t turn on. When I’d plug it in the keys and power button would occasionally turn on, but after 2-3 seconds it would turn off. There may have been an update that went thru overnight, but I’m not 100% sure.

After that, my laptop turned on and problems started, like Wi-Fi disconnecting and not showing its icons sometimes. I wasn’t able to open anything in my files as it would show 'no such interface supported.' When I tried troubleshooting, it said 'this file does not have an app associated…'. An hour ago, my laptop froze, so I tried restarting with the power button. When I tried turning it on, it showed 'your PC ran into a problem,' and after that, it automatically went to automatic repair. Then it again went to 'your PC ran into a problem,' and then its screen just turned off. Then I thought I'll start it again, but I suddenly saw the charging light also turned off, and till now, it isn’t turning on. I am really in a problem. Please help me if you can. I have a lot of homework. I am really scared I REALLY NEED HELP🙏🙏

I have an ASUS 0501LA laptop it is a 2013 about 2 years ago I started letting it plugged in all the time most of the time it wasn't plugged into a surge protector. Then about 6 months ago I had to start playing with the power jack unplugging it and plugging it back in to keep it charging. About 2 weeks ago I went to turn the power button on an when I pressed the button I heard a snap and that was it. The charging light was still on until you would press the power button. Then the light would go off but it would come back on in a couple seconds but the computer would not startup. After leaving it unplugged for a few days tried to press the power button, the caplock lights up but the computer still will not turn on. Started doing your testing removed the back cover to access the battery, tested the static mode that you mentioned several times still nothing. I tested the power jack that is good holds steady. Took the battery out of the motherboard left it out for a few hours and now we have nothing at all no red charging light or anything. It only has 1 ram and we do not have a spare. Any advice on which way to go next. I can't check the charging port in the computer it doesn't have wires that plug in like you showed on your video this one is soldered in. I tried taking that main battery out and plugging the power supply in directly and it still won't turn on. Please help! Thank you!

1. If the computer will only turn on after removing the charger, then I would try replacing the charger.
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@PC_Monkey I think I will get a new charger. The problem gets worse the longer the charger is plugged in, but it seems like there's something else going on, too, because now it takes several attempts pressing the power button to get the laptop to start up. I'm taking it in for repair and will see what they say.

Thank you so much, I believe it was my battery. The 💻 is working without the battery. Should I order a new battery for Inspirion 1564?
Yes, if the computer only works without the battery, I would replace it. Would you like help finding one?
Hi PC monkey it's me I need your help this morning I turned on my laptop and it had a fan noise but nothing showed on the screen and I can't open it or tell me parents because they recently brought my laptop screen to fix😢
1. For a computer that turns on but the display does not work, try this video first; ua-cam.com/video/e9iy30J00-k/v-deo.html
2. Also, did anything happen before this? Overheating, liquid spill, physical damage, Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkey yes my laptop was damage alot before but when it was brought to fix the person repaired almost everything
@@PC_Monkey I'll try to get the tools I'll let u know if it works
@@artplayer6343 Good luck !!
I have an Asus Vivobook Go 14/15 that has no evidence of power. It was possible exposed to some moisture this morning and then earlier today it flashed on and off a few times before now dying completely. I cannot access my battery very easily. What would you recommend?
Does this help access the battery? ua-cam.com/video/Gb8CmV__PMk/v-deo.html
I have an Asus k52JT, I got it in 2009, I have removed the battery since 5 years ago and it doesn’t have battery at all. And 1 months ago, it didn’t turn on at all. Nothing on display, even not Asus logo. Only the power button led and numlock led is on. And also fan not work. And a few hours, again it started working normal. Now again, it happens, exactly the same problem(Nothing on display, even not Asus logo. Only the power button led and numlock led is on.). I also notice than, when I press the power button, the fan spin for a second, then stop. And after about 1 minute, fan spin in full speed. What do you think its problem?
Sounds like your on the correct video. Have you tried the steps seen here?
Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
