    You still have one of my favorite tuono reviews. Came by to get my V4 fix and saw this new gem. Should be back on my Tuono in less than 4 weeks so thanks for the video. It's holding me over well.

    Great review LCR, what others fail to portray is the emotion & feeling when you ride, you nailed it here. When a bike makes you laugh & scream inside your lid there is no better advert.

    I took for a test ride that bike yesterday.... what a bike.... speechless... Definitely I would loose my license in a one week time. So compliant, so smooth, but crazy fast...when you ride it is like the time is passing slower while you are on the bike although doing 200km/hour... you feel that you have enough time to do anything and to stop it if need be even on short distances at crazy speeds....

    Another great review Chops, I bought a 2016 Tuono, partially because of your review of that one and I'm still alive, amazingly I still have my license as well. I was thinking of trading it for a Multistrada to get something with longer legs until I rode that, almost put me to sleep! I'm afraid I'm now V4 for life, like a good drug!

    You said it: "It is so fast and so accessible". I had the same impression when I tested it.. so easy, even a beginner could ride it without problem before killing himself in a month or two... and for others it is true.. good buy to your license in a week time. The problem with the sport bikes of the new generation like RSV4 is you are not even aware how fast you are going... I just open the throttle and I am at 200km/h... while with roadster like Tuono... you still have some sense of speed, which keeps your license in your pocket, although you crank it from time to time. :)

      Not a lot more, just a bit more torque throughout the rev range and a few horsepower on top. The stock headers and collector are very good, a slip-on is all that is needed along with race ECU to make good power. Beyond that, you'd want to be a racer to get the last dregs of power out of everything.

    Chops I've watched all your RSV reviews......several times! The best on youtube! I took a test ride on one of these after watching your reviews having tested a few of the other 2017 litre bikes. I'm glad I did as this bike wasn't even on my radar before (crazy I know). This hands down the most entertaining litre bike to ride! Check out Wheels in Peterborough. They're doing these for 16,295 pre reg (reg June/July 2017). That's 3700 off list! Not necessarily looking to plug Wheels motorcycles at all but just letting you know there are some good deals out there on this bike. Keep up the great reviews!

  • @VeeFour
    @VeeFour 7 років тому +1

    I've ridden the previous iteration of the RF and it was majestic, so I can only imagine that this one is even better. If you liked it then you'll probably like the R1, as it feels very similar but is much more reasonably priced

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  7 років тому

      +VeeFour yes trying the R1 soon, think I'm going to like it! Bit of something extra with the crossplain crank configuration

    • @SteveC-Shaman
      @SteveC-Shaman 7 років тому +1

      Here in Canada, the R1 is only slightly cheaper and the R1M is quite a bit more. The RR is cheaper than either and really is plenty good for road use - the RF has true pro-level racing suspension on it and the wheels are very light but still durable enough for road use. You do get something for that money, whether it's important to you or not is the question. Most other bikes require suspension replacement or rebuilding for racing purposes, the RF might need a spring and at worst, a valve shim if you go up or down a couple of spring sizes.

    I love the V-four grunt, and this motorcycle would be wonderful for someone who has a load of money and thus can afford two sports bikes, this one being strictly for kicks and for running from police. ;) Alas, I must be more practical, since a motorcycle is my everyday driver. I'm still pining for a new Honda VFR: one with much more horsepower, more displacement, no faulty driveshaft, and no V-TEC. In the meantime, I can fantasize about a lottery win and a garage full of beastly motorcycles, including an RSV4. lol ...Instead, I'll likely end-up buying a left-over, pandemic-surviving, base model 2018 FireBlade CBR 1000RR. Thanks for the review.

    Shouldn't mock it mate. Cruise control is fabulously useful for supersport with aggressive riding position. Very few people are lucky enough to live close to their favorite mountain pass or track. Often time the boring highway leg will wear the rider out and having cruise control can greatly reduce that fatigue since the rider can alter posture and rest their arm for longer and safer that those crampbuster/throttle lock contraptions can provide.

    • @nikokom6628
      @nikokom6628 5 місяців тому

      @@GrzechuMoto look for high stress mileage. The RSV4 got a tracker for high rpm kilometers. Somewhere in the 20k km you should look for valve play or if the ssservice is done. In general I can recommend my RSV-RR. No issues so far, but it is not an easy bike, up and downshifts you have to kick it harder than on modern bikes. Throttle, gears etc is different from the newer ones. If you like a bike to handle, the bike demans the biker but makess a lot of fun! If the RF iss in good condition you can think about it. Do not forget what the colleague before told you. This bike gets super hot in traffic

      So true. I've been riding my 2016 S1000RR for about a month now and cruising speed is around 90-100mph bike just feels so comfy and calm there that you'd never know how fast your going aside from traffic turning into ants in the mirrors. That aside, if you pick your battles you'll never lose your license. Passed a highway patrol today going 170mph... might have pursued me had they not been on their phone. Lol

    hi, love the review - you have that special feeling riding an RSV4 - I have a 2013 ABS (had a 2010 before) and thinking of getting an RF - but in the back of my mind I am holding a candle for an MV F3 800 ........ just wanted to hear your thoughts / comparison between the 2, I know they are both fast enough..... all modern sports bikes are, but which one feels more special ? I also have a Daytona 675R and love the triple engine feel, but I also love the V4 ... as I've got older (mid 40's now) I am more into the character & whole package rather than just speed.
    cheers

      The F3 is an awesome bike but.... MV has been having very hard financial times and personally I would be concerned about getting support for it. A good friend of mine bought a F4 last year and went through hell to keep it running - sold it at a big loss in a fit of anger and got a R1. Also a good bike, but the RSV4 just has... something. His R1 tuned and piped won't outrun my RF dead stock, fwiw. The RF reels it in slowly if he gets the jump.

    Fantastic review Lamby, oh for a spare £20k.... is the Tuono new this year too with the same engine?

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  7 років тому +2

      +Hippo-Drones good question not sure if the tuono has the same dash etc... it has a 1100 cc engine more torque but "only" 175 bhp haha... Im so fricking tempted!!!

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones 7 років тому

      puny 175 bhp??? what is the point? ;-) lol.... only 125bhp more than my current steed! :D
      I've always liked the idea of a Tuono, but after my Ducati Streetfighter 1098 S fiasco I am loathed to spend mega money on exotica again!

      Tuono has more torque than the RSV.
      Better road bike IMO and still an awesome track bike.

    Does it feel like its running lean because of Euro 4?
    Imagine the sound with an aftermarket exhaust without the Euro 4 crap. Might free up the top end too and shed some weight.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  7 років тому +2

      +NITROLLATOR yes I would love to ride one with an aftermarket exhaust! The fueling was the best I've tried didn't even think to look for modes and all that crap to improve it... very well fueled considering its euro4

    After riding almost every 1000cc category superbike (except RC8)
    I can say that my favorite was and will be Aprilia
    The sound,the ride,everything on this bike is damn good.You might find it little smaller compared to Jap 1000cc bikes
    But you have to keep in mind that this bike is based on track superbike,they just made it road legal and detuned...
    But once you find your spot,hold tight...

    Were there any low speed issues on the RSV4? I believe Tuono 1100 is not nice to ride below 30mph.
    Also, did you test the 2016 bike? That would be interesting, because they can be bought for much less than 2017 RSV4.

    • @Peskarik
      @Peskarik 7 років тому

      Yes, no liter bike really likes going slow. Even the Japanese, you feel they are unhappy, but they suck it up and behave exemplary. Panigale 1299, instead, just tortures you. I wonder what behaviour RSV4RF has...

    • @Peskarik
      @Peskarik 7 років тому

      What kind of tires do you have? My Daytona 675 eats front Supercorsa SP in 1500-2000 miles (I only ride mountain hairpins on this bike, so lots of downhill trail braking, I lose the sides of front tires real quick and I've been fined already for bold front tire by police once).

    The shift lights are adjustable, by the way. They're lighting up before 13,500 which is really where you want to shift for max power. :) And they are within a gnat's dick of the S1KRR in power, BTW. They just make it more linearly, so it isn't such a crazy feeling top-end rush.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  7 років тому +1

      +Steve C yes looking back I think the dealer had set them lower as it didn't have many miles.. and your so right about the linear power delivery quite intoxicating 😍😍

    BMW S1000RR easy to ride, GSXR1000 easy to ride, RSV4 not easy to ride because it's so insane and requires 100mph plus to make it work, only experienced riders should ride, buy it if you do track days, don't buy it for the road unless you want to lose your licence or die, spot on review from chops. Tuono is the one I would go for if you ride more on the road than track
