Hey, great review, we appreciate all your committed time to provide us with such content. I've noticed that every single vlogger is making errors in their critique of the RSV4, that of "forgetting to consider" it was built to win WSBK (it wasn't built with us in mind). If we take that into perspective (Aprilia built the RSV4 to win WSBK) then I suspect each of you would be better able to "explain" why the 1) quick shifter feels clunky or unrefined, or 2) why it's difficult to intentionally find neutral but it's found accidentally on downshift to 1st from 2nd. The Aprilia RSV4 is not meant to be ridden how mortals ride it, when it is we experience these meaningless issues. When actual road racers push the RSV4 on the track they do not experience said issues because they keep the bike where it was designed to perform. So, when giving input (not critique) on the quick shifter, you can mention how it feels to you as you are riding it and experiencing that which you experience. But you should explain why you are experiencing said issues (rpm range functionality, tight gear box, precise and consistent shifting). Everything is a matter of perspective, and those few critiques made by every vlogger exist simply because the vlogger isn't riding the Aprilia RSV4 according to how its designed to be ridden. You my friend can take your vlogging well beyond the rest if you start to consider the whys.

Mr. Chops this is why you have best UA-cam bike channel, when you described that you can wheelie the bike and still have the traction control on, that's something that no one has plainly said. That's such important feature, wonder if the 2020 Super Duke R has? 🇨🇦

Just had the opportunity yesterday to ride this year's RSV4 Factory and let me tell you -- it is an INSANE machine. Emphasis on _INSANE_. Granted, it was my first time riding something this powerful, but to experience the sheer power this thing possesses is a moment unlike any other. It felt like the bike was about to rip itself apart. Unfortunately, I did not have a long enough stretch of road to go all the way to the rev limiter, but just opening the throttle lunges the whole bike forward with brutal torque and with every upshift you feel a kick in the butt as the bike picks up even more steam. You have to be super careful and ever vigilant because the straight that seemed so long a few seconds suddenly contracted uncomfortably quickly as all the surroundings became a blur and now there is a sharp corner to tackle. As I was getting ready to go on the ride, I was told not to let the revs drop below 4k and once it picked up the revs, I was supposed to just kick in the higher gears. I totally understood what the guy meant when I did that. I never got beyond the third gear, though, to be honest. At times, I was doing highway speeds on local roads winding through forests. There was no way. All in all, it's an unbelievable machine and I totally understand now why Chops was wondering if there is a place for such a machine on the road. This is a pure racing sports bike with mirrors slapped on and without all of those assistants, it would be pretty much unridable.
Thank you for this video, honestly. Hello! How are you? My name is Paul. It looks like things take me forever to make my dream comes true from my previous bike Suzuki GSXR 600cc to this beautiful machine Aprilia.
No fuel gauge?! Right then, that's it: I ain't buying one! Seriously though, that thing is - as you say - a masterpiece. God only knows how you managed to dodge plod all week with that shove & glorious soundtrack. A license-shredder to be sure, but I'd still have one in a heartbeat. Maybe we should go for a cheaper option & undergo some therapy instead?! Thanks again for the superb review John. I do hope Wheels' have got something trick up their sleeve for your next test! 😵
Had a go on one of these yesterday and was instantly converted from Ducati to Aprilia haha. It was so much easier to ride than my 959 and sounded better too. Going to have to get a 17 plate RF now as I can’t afford this weapon! 😂👌🏻
can't find Neutral ?! it is something you just need a soft foot for mate :-) take the clogs off !!!! when you change gear you need to be positive - its a racing box designed to be fast shifting and not give false neutrals, box is excellent, QS & Blipper is the absolute best - once you have an RSV4 for a day you learn to be soft going into neutral. I've had other bikes like this - awesome bike, I think my 2017 would be getting swapped in if they changed the headlight design and made it more modern looking. Power, APRC, Handling & brakes are just the best !
to avoid the gas splash, you have to place the cross hose to the bike and leave it resting on the tank. Neutral usually cames when you dont push the gear pedal with decission. Nice bike mate. have fun
I'm devleoping a love for Aprilia's that I didn't have back in the day(I was atound in the 90s during the less reliable years). Lack of dealers sounds like motivation to learn how to work on a bike yourself, with the support of people like us who can source parts, oils and gear from up to 90 brands :-)

Awesome review LCR!! Such an awesome sounding bike, I've got a 2016 R1 and that things a missile, this must be another level still! I recognise that road towards the end, the A285 from Petworth, to Chichester, one of my favourite roads on an early morning on the R1! Must get a test ride arranged and give one a go myself.
Millga I had an R1M and LOVED IT!!! And agreed,...217 hp from a high reving 1100 v4???? Amazing!!!! Have you done a full system on your R1 yet? 🙂. I dumped the cat and it was a game changer! Sold the R1m though becaue my back is band from a Ducati accident decade ago and jsut hurts too much on that MotoGP bike. 😩. Went MT10 and LOVE IT tho! No back pain and wheelies for days! No, it’s pretty much bog standard, I’m taking it over to the IOM TT then once I’ve done that it’s going up for sale, much like LCR was saying about the RSV, I just don’t have the self control and as a ex owner you know how the numbers you’re looking at when you start giving it some. 1290 Superduke next I reckon!

Good to see they have kept the Not going into Neutral, My Y reg RSV was the same. As soon as I do my next Bank Job I'm getting one of these great video.
Must admit this is one of the topbikes at the moment. Can’t say there is anything that comes close to this one...Maybe a new ZX10R ? Gotta love that sound of the Aprilia 👌 Excellent review, Chops! 👍👍👍
I was watching your video and reached the point where you have problem finding the neutral in the gearbox, I saw it too in a small test I did with it, if you see my video you will notice my hand moving before getting in the track, at that point you can watch the TFT screen and see that I'm trying to find the neutral at that point and that's why my left hand looks like shaking. I was thinking that I was doing something wrong but then I saw your video and you mentioned it :-)
Marc Marc haha RR or Factory? Have you watched 44Teeths review of the '19 Tuono Factory? al said it's the greatest road bike of all time! Always a lot considering he's a decorated ex MotoGP and British SBK vet! 👌
I have superbike collection own all.. both japanese and euro . Aprilia rsv4 is my favorite ALL the euro bikes better than the japanese .in all aspects .thats why euro bikes win all the comparisons for 15 years strait .
I used to have a 1998 st2 that was chip tuned reminds me to your aprilia . If you don't find neutral easy means the cluth needs adjusting to lift more on the lever...
Great review again chops, btw aprc came along in 2011 and finding neutral has always been an issue since 1999 when the first Mille's came out, weird they haven't solved that problem after 20 years by now... For the rest I'ts like you've mentionned, you always feel special riding a V4 Aprilia.

PLUS crossplane 4 decated! ❤️️
Went to wheels...with the intention to buy the rsv4 rf...decided to what until end of the year and buy the 1100 factory thanks to you 😂 great video, keep up the good work !
@@MZ-bl6wg All Tuonos (RR & Factory) got the 1100 cm3 / 175 hp engine since 2015.
2019 RSV 4 Factory -> 1100 cm3 / 217 hp
2019 RSV 4 RR -> 1000 cm3 / 200 hp (for superbike homologation i think)
@@MLambdaman yep that's pretty much it..the 1000cc rsv rr is for racing and can be made the same spec as the 1100 e.g forks, wings, breaks, but will cost u bout same money as the rsv4 factory I guess with all the upgrades
Fab ride out with you great honest review, I missed the new 360 camera angles ,happy new year 👍👀💖
Been there with that downshift from third, straight through second and onward into neutral. Certainly wakes you up.
Great video! I believe you are the first person to get a street review out.....well done!
I agree super unbiased purely coming from the soul iand the heart love it thank you
lovely vid mate, the 1100 RSV is such a machinery indeed
Such a nice bike 😃
🙏 Thank You So Much Lamb Chop for the honest review of this Amazing Aprilia RSV4 >>> Stay Safe & Ride Safe! 🕯🌷🌿🌍💖🕊
Good to see they have kept the Not going into Neutral, My Y reg RSV was the same. As soon as I do my next Bank Job I'm getting one of these great video.
I live 10 mins away from the route you have used. got to love lavant and Goodwood
Must admit this is one of the topbikes at the moment.
Can’t say there is anything that comes close to this one...Maybe a new ZX10R ?
Gotta love that sound of the Aprilia 👌
Excellent review, Chops!
👍👍👍
Amazing video, loved it! Could I include part of it in a compilation? full credits to you of course :)
Yes absolutely 👍👍
THAT V4 SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👌
I was watching your video and reached the point where you have problem finding the neutral in the gearbox, I saw it too in a small test I did with it, if you see my video you will notice my hand moving before getting in the track, at that point you can watch the TFT screen and see that I'm trying to find the neutral at that point and that's why my left hand looks like shaking. I was thinking that I was doing something wrong but then I saw your video and you mentioned it :-)
Sounds amazing 👍
I like the flat black but they need a different color scheme as well
What a perfect bike the best bike 2019
i like how you descripe the downside, that it is definitly a lisence loser, i experience this with my new 2019 tuono factory :) nice vid
Marc Marc haha RR or Factory? Have you watched 44Teeths review of the '19 Tuono Factory? al said it's the greatest road bike of all time! Always a lot considering he's a decorated ex MotoGP and British SBK vet! 👌
@@MZ-bl6wg Factory with the Electronic Ohlins. i will sure check that video thanks
Marc Marc man you must be the happiest person for owning that bike
Yeh its my dream bike ever since ive seen the tuono
I have superbike collection own all.. both japanese and euro . Aprilia rsv4 is my favorite ALL the euro bikes better than the japanese .in all aspects .thats why euro bikes win all the comparisons for 15 years strait .
I Love the sound of this bike!!
I used to have a 1998 st2 that was chip tuned reminds me to your aprilia . If you don't find neutral easy means the cluth needs adjusting to lift more on the lever...
I can’t get this for the same reason I don’t try drugs, I would get addicted and end up broke and probably dead. It sounds so good though.
On my Tuono I removed the fuel filler and dremelled the hole larger. Problem solved no more spilling.
I can't even legally ride yet still loved this
Stunning! That V4 + Akra soundtrack is pure filth!!!!
👍 big like!
Sounds amazing
A proper sports bike!
Sorry officer the bike made me speed 😂
One day I will own one of these, because of this video.
Great review again chops, btw aprc came along in 2011 and finding neutral has always been an issue since 1999 when the first Mille's came out, weird they haven't solved that problem after 20 years by now... For the rest I'ts like you've mentionned, you always feel special riding a V4 Aprilia.
Yes knew I had that wrong haha, forgot to add the correction to the video. Thanks for spotting it 😁
Half way through the video I was sold
Omg is that the best sounding bike ever 😂👍
I Have Aprilia Tuono 1100 , And fund reducing the Rear Tyre Size From 200 to a 190 ,helps with slow speed corners
Sounds like an Assault to all your senses on two wheels. Love it
