You said you're not an engineer. I am, and yours is a very good design. Well done! I'm using your basic concept to build a mobile flip table on a small ( 24" x 48") trailer frame because I have a couple separate working areas. I'd share a snippet of the 3d model I used to design the set up, but I can't seem to attach it here.

Since most people won’t have access to conveyor belt material, it looks like a section of simple chain link fence and that maybe covered in more indoor outdoor material might also work for the front panel?

well I built an ally way and squeeze chute off your design. works way better than the rodeo that working my goats was before. Also in my previous comment I asked the dimensions of the pivot piece. I made mine 7" from the bolt hole to the back of the chute.
I'm sorry I never replied to your question about the pivot piece. I would guess it is about 7". Let me know how yours work.

Your flip table is so effective, well thought out and yet so easy to construct. If you were to build it again, what would you change? In particular, would you leave off the three pieces of 1 inch tubing on the side opposite where you stand to flip it in most of the demonstrtion.? Or is it useful for more leverage for larger animals? Thanks for coming up with a "Te Pari table" for the rest of us...lol. Thanks for documenting your handling sytem so well.
Yes, I probably would leave off the upper bars as they are really not needed.
Thanks for your excellent design, I have just made a flip table and works very well, heaps better on my bad back, the only difference is that I have used thin rubber sheeting on the front moving section, a possible issue with this is that if a sharp hoof scours it may tear. the only other comment would make is that I found is the pivot point will be dependent on the weight of material used in construction as well as the weight of the sheep within, hence would suggest for any new build do it with that in mind so you may be able to adjust your pivot point further down if needed.

I’m also wondering if your design would work well as a portable squeeze chute…? Is it secured or attached to the 4x4 posts which are anchored in the ground?
It is a little too heavy to be too portable. I originally tried to fasten it down with stakes, but that didn't work well. Since, I've secure it to the 4x4s and that seems work better.

What are your thoughts on using expanded metal instead of plywood & carpet? It would provide some anti-slip protection, as well as holding up better to the environment.
Naturally it would add a see-through element. Any thoughts in that regard?
I've seen expanded metal used before and it seems to work well. The only negative that I can think of is it can be sharp sometimes and may be able to cut a struggling animal. I don't think there would be a great likelihood of that, but it may be possible. Worse case, if it did turn out to be a problem, you could always fasten a piece of carpet over it. If you try it, let me know how it works. Thanks.
Great job at creating DIY product like that, also very well presented. In video around 6m:30s you mentioned that squeeze table at the bottom can be made adjustable. My question is how wide is the opening at the bottom platform you have , when animal enter this table area. Dimension connecting both tables together at bottom. I'll try to make one as you did. It will be helpful if you can share this ? Thank You and again Awesome job.
I have it set at about 8” wide at the bottom hinge point.

When you tilt the sheep/goat the hooves are then located about your waist. Have you added dirt to elevate the ground under your table or is the pivot allowing the position at the waist?? My purchased tilt table is much lower, which causes me to "bend over" for all trimming . Not a good position after a couple of dozen animals.
I tried to make mine where it would pivot so that it would be about waist high. However, it was still a few inches shorter than was ideal, so raised it a couple inches by partially burying cinderblocks and placing it on top of them. The floor of it is still low enough the animals don't balk at stepping up on it.

Very cool idea. How does it handle the big rams? My one ram is close to 250lbs
250 lbs is probably about max capacity. I may have had one a little heavier than that but a 250 pounder will fill it up.
It does pretty well up to about 275lbs. Above that it would be a little short.

How far apart are the two sides at the pivot point at the bottom? You mentioned that you made it adjustable but found that you never need to adjust it.
6-8" is what is I keep mine set at.
Any ideas for making a round bale feeders for goats. Like a cradle type or whatever works

Appreciate the design! I’m going to start replicating it this afternoon. I do have another question … the metal roofing material you have lining your runway, why? Have you found that sort of blinding your animals helps keep them calmer, etc? Seems pretty spendy as opposed to just using cattle panels, but if there is a major benefit I’ll spend the dough. Thanks!
Great question! It was not more costly for me as I already had the metal roofing. It has some advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are they are somewhat calmer when in the chute. But they are also more reluctant to go in it. Since they like to go towards the light. So having a chute that allows them to see would probably make them more comfortable entering it.
I had the same question. I used tin in my crowder walls to calm them and cattle panel along the chutes. Seems to work pretty well.

I’ve used it in a ram around 275 lbs. which was little hard to lift and he barely fit lengthwise.
I have a question my friend. The part of the frame on the backside, why is it 50” tall? Is that there just to keep animals from jumping out on that side? If you are always on the inside working feet you don’t seem to ever touch that 50” tall horizontal bar.
Yes, the back bar is not really necessary. When I built it, I thought I would need it for extra leverage when flipping them, but I don’t really ever use it.
