- DIY goat and sheep handling system. Here is what we use to make sorting, deworming, hoof trimming, and handling much easier with a holding pen, crowd pen, squeeze chute, flip table, cut gate, and loading chute.

Excellent! I hope we can do something like this. I usually have 6 or 8 sheep. The older we get the harder it is to take care of them. We are 70.
I know everything costs money and more of it nowadays but you've got an excellent setup there with easily obtainable materials without spending several thousand dollars on specialized equipment. Definitely given me some good ideas for my own handling system.
Troubleshooting after going over to help a fellow homesteader vaccinate an unruly, horned buck. He's about 120lbs and way more than can be handled without a squeeze chute for sure. This is really helpful in visualizing how I might help them get control of their big boy!
would really love to see more on that flip table man that's great! Love the videos bud!

My brother, who just sent me the link to this video, has modeled your flip table for use with his sheep. Now I can see why. Nice system you've created!
Thank you.
wow, that's an amazing system.
I jiust found your video spotlighting the flip table in particular... thanks!
Simplicity always works best I found this video so Useful thank you very much mate you explain it so simple and straightforward hallelujah 😊👍🏼 Now I feel confident and I have a plan for rounding up my sheep and treating them thank you for a great video.
Glad it was helpful
This was great I'm about to build a system so thanks I needed some inspiration and ideas
Thanks
Awesome video from “Rolling Reed Ranch”
I like your system! Your loading ramp and your flip table, thank you for sharing everything you do in your farm 👍GOD bless you 🙏🙏
Sir. Your Idea is so great^_____^ Two thumbs up~~~
Watched most of ROLLING O's videos. Notice he always has a long sleeve shirt on. Something to think about when you're in the sun all day. Most of the real cowboys in West Texas where I used to live, dressed similarly.
Good call!
Wow! You're organized! Great work!
I love your handling design 🖤
Love this especially the flip table - as a new goat owner will be exploring all these options
You have an excellent system for handling these stocks. Thanks for sharing.
Nice setup. We're looking at converting a cow chute, and definitely getting a table! Those things will make this so much easier!!
We are looking at starting a little goat operation. Thank you for the info. It is obviously well thought out and time tested.
That is pretty damn ingenious
Thanks.
Great set up, great video
Very nice!
Thanks!
Amazing. We're just starting our farm, and are planning fences and pens. We will definitely do something similar for our goats. Adapt it for our pigs as well. Simply perfect, small farm setup. Thanks for sharing!
I’m a little disappointed I didn’t get to see more of the baby goat! 😂 but it looks like a very fancy system!
I like this, thank you, My goats like to lay down in there.
Brilliant. Thanks for posting this.
Great video. Great tips in all your videos.I just found your Channel, I hope to get back into Sheep/Goats this year.
You got a nice system there and a new subscriber here. Thanks for sharing.
Really cool setup 😍
This video was to the point and informative...Thanks
Great design! Perfect for small farmers. Would love for myself to be able to build a small pen like this one for sheep and stocker calves
Awsome setup , I’m barley starting with goats , I have 8 goats now my goal is have 30 does , I looked into similiar setup from a company and I was looking at 15k+ , love your setup ! Thanks for sharing
You are welcome
Very very nice. Impressive setup.
Thank you
I love your handling system, can I copy it? Lol
Nice set up
Nice system!

Man that was awesome! I have to create this. Would love more info on this and the flip table.
Thanks. Check out this video on the flip table.

This great thank you so much
Excelente. Te saludo desde Argentina. Tengo una pequeña granja, dónde crío cabras y ovejas lecheras, pues, hago queso. Tus instalaciones son muy parecidas a las mías. Coincido con tus vídeos. Explicas claro y bien. Felicitaciones
Awesone video.
Love the system. If possible I'd like to see your slide gates a bit more in depth and the flip table.

What aset up great work
Thanks.
The best!
Would love more information on measurements to your set up via this video and equipment used.
Yes, measurements would help! how wide is the chute?
Very helpful, thank you. It would be helpful to know also how wide the alley is. Did you also build the gates and the flip table?
Alleys are 20” wide. I did build the flip table. I have a video on it as well.
Really like the flip table. I'm needing to make my own. Can you please show me details on how to build my own. Maybe some measurements too.
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
That flip table looks amazing. Can you please share how you made it?
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Very nice
Thanks
Decent system.
That’s an excellent “flip table”, did you make it?
If so can you please do a video about it.
I just made it out of an old workout bench I had. Thanks for the suggestion. I may try to do that.
@@rollingofarm I can't wait to see this
Very nice setup. Clean and functional. I'd like to see a video on how the flip table is made.
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Ingenious...where did you get the slider gates?
Thanks for sharing, love and would like more information on the Flip Table, did you make that yourself, or is it a purchasable item? We're in Tasmania, Australia, and in the process of setting up a Goat Dairy. I really like the way you've setup those runs, and will think about designing something similar. Have subscribed, and will have to check out your other videos.

This is an awesome set up!! Good job! What type of woven wire fencing did you use?
Thanks. For my handling system I use 48” goat and sheep wire.
I need a flip table like that where did you get that or if you made it I would love to know how with a another video excellent video thank you for posting
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Just want to say thank you for the video.
I made my first handling system earlier this year out of pallets and it didn't work so well. Now I've read up more on how best to design it from a sheep's point of view I came across your video and it looks a hell of a lot easier than my current one.
it is so wet here that I can't get my truck and trailer over to where I built it. Didn't occur to me how bad it would get. So I'm going to look into tearing it down, relocating it to the other opposite end of the field and starting again.
How wide is your race/chute please? Mine was seemingly too narrow in one point and too wide in another and they got stuck. #Rookieproblems
My chute is 20" wide, which is too wide for most ewe and goats (they can turn around in it), but I want to be able to fit my largest rams through it too.
Thanks helpful. Where can find nice simple flip chute like you have. In Kansas beef country. Or someone have plans could build one.
Very creative & efficient! Your tilt table... is that a specific purchase or did you cobble it together? If purchase, could you provide a link? If cobbled, do you have plans? Thanks!
I made it. I have a separate video for it.
Could you please share where you purchased that squeeze chute? We have been looking since seeing your video and can’t find one like it. Love Love your videos.
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Hi Nice video. Could you please provide the complete dimension of this system. I would like to setup same kind of system in my farm
oh man, I need this. If you turned these into plans and materials, I'd buy those from you. ANy chance you might document this setup and sell them as plans?
Maybe. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@rollingofarm I'd pay $20.00.
Nice
How did you build your sliding gates? I'm not far from you so I might come check them out
I built the sliding gates out of old hand railing. I may try to do a video on the sliding gates because they are very handy.
Would you be willing to share a drawing or dimensions for your flip table? I would like to make one like this.

Love your system. Have you tried to make it portable?
I have not tried to make it portable. I have all of my paddocks funnel into my working system. I believe it would be possible to move the flip table (but not easily), and the rest could be made out of portable panels.
Hi, Do you have any kind of setup to weigh the sheep. ? Please share your ideas.
Great system! Did you purchase or make your sliding gates?
I made them out of some old handrails.
How wide is your chute?
@@jaymond80 that is my question too!!
👍👍
How big should a flock to be for a handling system to be useful?
I would say it is useful with any size flock, but over 30 animals it becomes really helpful. It also depends on how easy to handle your animals are.
How high/tall (in feet) does the metal siding go up to? Is it just 1, 36" panel?
Yes. It is just 10’ sheets of 36” wide roofing tin.
Sir how wide is your system am thing about 20” or so?
Number 10
Sir did you build your slide gates. Or buy them
I built them out of some old hand railing from a school that was being torn down.
nice
Thanks
Hey mate any reason why your sheep panel and all got tin over the the blind panels is this so shgep cant see through make walking through bettet
It actually makes it a little more difficult to get them to enter the race, but keeps them from getting legs or head hung as you work them. And keeps them moving to the end once in the race.
Is the fixing machine homemade or factory-made ? I want to make a homemade one, you can take a more detailed picture about it.
It is homemade. I'll try to do a video of it soon. Thanks.
@@lonnieoldag9011 Thank you very much. This is important for me, as we do not have such videos in Russia.
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Where did u get your flip gate to trim sheep feet? Did you make it?
I did make the flip table out of some scrap metal I had around.
ua-cam.com/video/CRbSVnUT5ns/v-deo.html
Can you post a detailed video of the flip gate?
Do you have basic plans for the flip table?

Do you worm all at the same time or check eyes
I check eyelids color. I think deworming only the ones that need it helps prevent producing resistant strains of parasites.
Love the handling system gave me some good ideas
I use Shaklee Basic H for reworking. 6cc monthly on their feed or the soap can be placed in their water. The soap disintegrates the exoskeleton of all worms- barber pole as well as other gut parasites. Non-toxic. Google for more info.
What are the sides of your shoot made out of? Thanks
Treated 2x4 and 3' wide galvanized roofing.
Roughly how high is that chute ??
PS.... I totally copied this system and it worked like a charm. Many thanks.
The chute is 36" high
How wide is the chute, and how high, I'm about to build something like that, do you sell any drawings.
Sorry, I don't have any drawings. My chute is 20" wide which allows the biggest rams to go through, but also allows smaller ewes to turn around which can be aggravating. Some make it as narrow as 16".
@@lonnieoldag9011 how high are the walls?

Hi Sir... Is goat farming a profitable business? Pls advise🙏
ua-cam.com/video/NXVmBoh9REA/v-deo.html
It can be.
How much 🐑
The sheep I have available at the moment are $250-$300 for ewes and $325-$500 for rams.
