If you are the peak district you have to go to edale the walk and views are amazing or the blue john mines a most
How can you be so upbeat when feeling sick? Eric you're a star.
Oh god, this takes me back to binge-watching 30 hours of JP Schultz, Matt Guthmiller, and that food blogger guy flying around the world. Love your irrepressible positivity - and the way Luke is found having a pre-flight snifter too!
It's such a pleasure to watch your videos, especially when the world is so full of negativity. You always look for the positive in everything, and that's really refreshing. Thank you.
Hi. You might find this really weird but I had a baby 10 days ago. She's premature and has developed respiratory issues so she has been in hospital since her birth. I've been expressing so she can feed with breastmilk and unfortunately this means waking up at 3am to express for almost an hour. To make this less painful, I've been binge watching your vlogs. They're a great way to escape and it's exactly what I need right now so thank you very much for posting your vlogs.
Cathie, we're sorry to hear that you and your little girl are having such a rough go! We're so happy to be able to help you through this tough time, though. Sending lots of love and healthy thoughts your way 💗
I'm from Sheffield and flew at that club for an 18th birthday present, crazy to see stuff i recognise here haha
As someone born and raised in Sheffield it's so cool to see you go there as no one ever does! That air field is actually where my dad got his personal pilots license so I love it there. Also a quick fact, Sheffield is actually a city due to it having a cathedral. Love the amazing vlogs!
Sheffield! So mad seeing your own city on a travel vlog. And the Peak District is beautiful, so lucky to have it on our doorstep.
In a word...........WOW!!!!
So sad that your pilot didn't mention one of the most important events of WW2. RAF 617 Squadron, also known as the Dambusters training at Ladybower reservoir.
I miss my home City. Buy at least I'm stocked up on Henderson's relish 👍
I'm fom near Sheffield.. The peak District is one of the best place to be here in the uk
love your videos, and your enthusiasm for everything, really appreciate how much you dig our country, keep posting vids and hope you get better soon
Love having you along for the adventure! We always enjoy our trips through England and the UK 😊
Not sure if you're aware but Ladybower and Derwent Reservoir which you flew over is the where the RAF made preparations for the bouncing bombs used to destroy German dams during WWII. The bombs would skip across the surface like a skimming stone. They made a film about it called The Dambusters.
I'm SO ABOUT how you guys go to such unique places // go on unique adventures!
crazy awesome vlog dudes! Loved this one
😘
I'm a bit of a plane geek and I did some checking on the aeroplane you flew on ( G-BNME). I think Luke was winding you up a bit. The aircraft is a Cessna 152 and it was actually built in 1981 (not 1968). It originally carried a US registration but came onto the British registry in 1999.
I used to fly one of these things so I thought the 1968 year looked a bit old.
That looks like Netherthorpe Airfield - went past there last Monday after a lovely walk on the Chesterfield Canal. Really enjoy your videos.
This was phenomenal, adventurers !! Thanks for the text overlay on the flight, it helped a lot ! Just incredible scenery. Great food, too ! Hope the illness goes away, soon !
What an excellent aviation adventure!! Feel better soon Eric. You have lots of people wishing you well. Get lots of rest and take care of yourself.
Thanks so much for the well wishes! Luckily it was a quick bug 😷
What an amazing experience. Hope Eric feels better soon
I hope Eric feels better real soon! Love your vids.
Thanks, Wayne! Luckily he was feeling much better the next day :)
Great to see you guys back on English soil again. I know how that flight felt as i was lucky enough to do the same.
great video loved the flight guys amazing footage
I don't live too far from where you guys are staying right now, in fact I live just outside Birmingham the city centre is about 15 minutes away by train. I have so many happy memories in Stratford, we used to go every Christmas eve when we were younger and we still do go about a million times in the summer. It's just such a lovely place. Hope you guys enjoy.
Sheffield and The Peak are great places. Great blend of both city and country life. My nephew lives there!
Great vid as usual guys, lucky you, flying over the peak district! Great to hear you’ll be back soon, hopefully after May once everything’s gone all green and pleasant. Maybe try lincoln and the wolds, very mellow.
Wow, the peak district looks amazing from above. I've been there a couple years ago so it's great to see it from a completely different perspective.
It was so beautiful from above!
Nice video guys ! Get well soon Eric. Looks pretty cold out there, keep your selves warm. Cheers.
He is a lucky man to have a lady "snuggle" with him when he is not feeling well !.
Oh now I remember Luke from your first videos!!
GUYS! The reservoir you flow over was made by flooding two villages, the foundations, streets and little bridges are all still under the water. Get yourselves back to Sheffield, as offered in previous comments i would LOVE to be your guide for SHEFFIELD > PEAK DISTRICT. Itinerary already planned ;-)
Great video of my part of the world! I think the pilot says suburbs rather than silos and at approx 4.56 you see Agden Reservoir and the pretty little village of Bradfield.
Feel better soon x
Euro glamping is fun as a flashpacker. Fun video! Thanks.
Hoping Eric feels better very soon! Nice vlog!
My hometown. I now live in south Florida but love it there. Was there two months ago. Found you a while ago from the wales vlogs and love your content. 30 years ago I flew a plane like that with a pilot for fun. Nowadays too risky with law suits. I flew over my house. When we went to ladybower in September it was nearly dried up.
Great vids guys !!
Subbed this channel because of Mark Wein, looking forward to the every upcoming vids.
Hi Adventurers love your vlogs in UK. Just an FYI, regarding positioning sat nav/ phone when using GPS, as the law is not as clear as we would all wish it to be. I noticed the position of the holder on the windscreen. Latest advice from GM Police is to fix it as low down on the windscreen and to the right side, nearest the dash, so as not to obscure your view when driving. If Police consider your view obscured by it you can get a £100 fine and 3 points on licence. Also be aware that the driver should not touch the device ( adjust it, move it, press a button etc; and especially so with phones) when the car is moving or in traffic jams etc. My procedure is to pull over, switch off engine put key on dash to prove the engine is off; then adjust the device. Never hold a phone in your hands for any reason when you are driving. Best Wishes!
The flight looked amazing! I think you also may have flown over my house lol, I live about 20 minutes from the Ladybower reservoir in the town of Glossop in Derbyshire. Glad that you enjoyed yourselves x
We probably flew right over you, then :) It was such a beautiful flight!
Body shivers and Wanting to throw up Sounds like a fever take care! dress warm out there dude 😄 and great video and shots as always 🤙🏻
Love you guys,
There's a really cool location to go to at the end of ladybower lake and also there is a cafe location next to a train station called grindleford café. You should cehdk it out as there's a really good walk and also an amazing full English breakfast!
My home city! hope you enjoyed!
Very cool to see it from the sky! We've always wanted to get down and dirty with the UK. We've Megabus'd some, but it doesn't have the same freedom to stop and explore... I guess planes are the next level! Lol
Haha! If a plane isn't readily available, sitting on the top level of a bus will have to do 😂
Eric ,if you do have the flue you will have to take it easy for a few days, drink plenty of fluids and keep warm, good luck.
Hendersons relish has to be done if new to sheffield. haha Ladybower, near tere they d a bike hire place and you can feed the chaffinch birds.. cos they are that tame. its called Derwent Valley.. You'd like it... its about 45 mins from Ladybower.. Aint been there since I was 14
The northern accent might be hard to understand but when you asked if it was all Sheffield below he said that there are lots of suburbs not silos :)
I hope you feel better soon Eric
Oh, that shivery things been going around. If you get the cough, it lasts over three weeks. So many people I know have had this over Christmas...
Hope you feel better soon
You planning on going out towards Nottingham at all? I live between Sheffield and Notts and it's cool to see you in the area. Also should totally check out Castleton in the Peak District, adorable little town and they've got cave boat tours.
A N M Very true, nice place
Omg I'm in the background at 8:03 😂
Wow. Lots of Wednesday fans here.
I live near the Ladybower its so weird seeing it on youtube like this
Wheeeeey I'm from Sheffield. This is mental , I've watched you all over the world , and now your down the road from me!! Welcome
Adam Eaton thought you were from Rotherham? 😀
I'm guessing that this was filmed a few days ago, but raising a pint of Guinness to Eric that he's feeling better! Cheers!
Thanks! 🍻
I click on a random video, and in it you fly over my house lol
No mention of the two plug holes in the Ladybower Reservoir.
Ooh you guys are near me in Birmingham soon!
Check out Warwick and Coventry which you pass on your way to Brum (Birmingham).
My home City, pity you didn't get to see more of it...Maybe next time...
Nice views! How many countries have u visited & which country has ur favorite food?
Hi guys, i'm from Nottingham if you fancy visiting there, my grandad was the sheriff in the late 70's followed by the mayor, but sheriff does sound cooler, get in touch if you fancy setting up a tour. cheers guys love your stuff! Paul Bateman (Grandad Bernard Bateman)
Omg how have you never had a mince pie before..that's crazy
This looked awesome did u guys have fun. That yha looks cute. Are you guys coming up to the north west xx
We had a blast! We made it back up to the Peak District for a couple days, but that's as far as we got this time...
Get well soon :-)
ayy I use Docker at work! I wonder if Luke worked there in San Fran or something?
Guy, get well soon.
Be good if you actually visited sheffield! I’d show you round . As you can see below we’re a proud lot. Love the vids as always 👍🏻
There has been a lot of the 'winter vomitting bug' going around the UK this winter...I think Eric may have fallen victim...get well soon mate, you will probably feel queezy for a few more days sadly.
Yep I got it then my girlfriend and then my kids, I had to phone work with a genuine sick day.
I was sick for 2 days but was contagious for a week.
Being woken up at 02:00 am to provide the bowl for your kids to projectile vomit in is not the best in my view.
Sounds horrible mate. My girlfriend was feeling queezy for 5 days or so, barely ate a thing other than toast. I had a really long bout of the runs....sounds like it affects people different ways.
I class Sheffield as my home town even though I only lived there for 10 years ! Age 14 to 24 !!
Wow you guys have done a lot of good things here in england. You're almost running out :p i suppose a trip to liverpool and doing the beatles taxi ride would be an experience even if you're not necessarily fans.
My home city, Sheffield.
Poor Eric! We have a bad flu outbreak here at the momeht. Aussie Flu. A lot of it is concentrated up north. Take Care. Brendan_Surrey x
Have you been to Avebury or West Kennet Long Barrow dated to between 3000 and 2600 BC.(no bodys in it now, i think)
Super.
Where Luke is talking about Sheffield, I'm sure he said "suburbs", though your subtitles say "silos".
Could be! Between his accent and the poor audio it was a toss up for us 😅
The Endless Adventure Keep it up. How far north are you going? So much to see at English Heritage sites that get you away from away from the crowds and into the countryside.
I lip read him, he said subburbs but the subtitles were wrong and had Silos. So its definitely Subburbs xx
Looked like a fun day out. You can't beat the Yorkshire scenery. Just a note of caution, it is illegal to eat/drink/use a phone while driving a vehicle and although you would be very unlucky to get caught by the police, if you do it is a heavy fine. It is ok for passengers to do all those things because they aren't driving.
Lancashire,.... its like Yorkshire... but nicer...;) lol
Yorkshire.. More than a place.. Its an attitude... 😒.. Lol
The spire you flew over, was it the crooked spire of Chesterfield…our hometown?
Netherthorpe airfield. 3 miles from where I live!
argh i wish you went around the city of sheffield
When you paste a video can you tell us the date as we are in 2018 now and I think your videos are still way before Christmas. It would be nice to have more recent up to date videos if that’s at all possible. Have a great time.
Am from North Yorkshire Barnsley next door to Sheffield
Mince pies have brandy in too I think
wasn't ladybower res the one the dambusters of ww2 practiced on ? , they did practice on Derwent water in the lakes too
No the Derwent Reservoir next to the Ladybower was the dam used by 617 Squadron practicing for Operation Chastise.
ahh , thanks for the info mate ;)
I believe that they practised low flying over both of those reservoirs
When I lived in Stoke-On-Trent I seem to remember a plaque at one of the reservoirs near Cheadle/Alton saying something about it being a practise site for the dam busters also.
I'm pretty sure Lady bower was used.
Hope you feel better soon Eric. If you want to visit Cheshire, you can stay at mine with pleasure 🙂
The old and new Runcorn bridges (and the railway bridge), the marvellous view of the Mersey estuary from Frodsham Hill, Jodrell Bank, Northwich, Middlewich (there's a butchers there that sells the best sausage rolls in the world, I reckon), Oulton Park (did you know you can rent the track? Went round there at full speed in a Transit van one). etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Oh! Anderton boat lift, Winnington Bridge. So, so much to see and experience, as I'm sure you know.
Great Budworth,Delamere Forest,TattonPark,Marbury, Anderton, boat lift,Alderley Edge, Cheshire Plain,Chester,North Wales
Coward’s Butchers in Frodsham do the best pies (their Hotpot Pies & Steak Pies just WOW...); Chester (Roman) and it’s Great zoo, Nantwich, Anderson Boat lift (near Marbury Park by Northwich), The Sandstone Trail, Beeston Castle, plus amazing Forests and Parklands (Tatton Park) even a secret Nuclear Bunker (Hack Green), Quarry Bank Mill at Styal...checkout Cheshire, but stay away from the Footballers areas....lol
Also Manchester & Liverpool are both very close by....
So many recommendations! Thanks everyone 🙌
Get well soon guys! Not nice being ill away from home. If you feel you have a bad throat or fever coming on try a shot of MANFLU, me and my mate got ill the same day 2 weeks ago. Iv still got it but he took that MANFLU shot and his cleared up the next day. I'm fucking dying here lol
You guys coming up to Scotland??
My favourite sandwich is peanut butter banana toastie mmmmmmm delicious
you would not get me up in that lawn mower with wings???
Poor Eric, I hope he didn't have food poisoning (that's horrible). When I first glanced at the video title I thought it said private fight over Peak District and Sheffield :-)
Technically I think you were in Worksop rather than Sheffield (despite the name of the club)... and yes Sheffield is pretty big, it's the 4th largest city in England after London, Birmingham and Leeds.
Very adventurous of you to be taking to the air in a 50 year old aircraft with a fairly novice pilot. Anyway, get well soon Eric. 😷👍
6:04
If I were served that "pint" of Kronenbourg, I would have given it back and said "I asked for a pint, not three quarters of a pint".
Your not having the best time in the UK this time, but thanks for the great video
Hope it's not the flu. There's a rare strain floating around which is knocking a lot of people for six. Even the flu jab hasn't got it covered this year apparently. Can take a while to get over flu so fingers crossed. Snuggling might mean you both get it.
Hey your an hours drive from me tomorrow!
Next time you're up?.. Give us a call if you want a flight?.. Celebrity Airlines.. We fly all the stars. Glen Miller , Buddy Holly, Jim Reeves, John Denver, Otis Redding?.. and our chief in charge of pilot training is Harrison Ford !!..... ;)
