30 years of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, still the greatest action film ever made!
30 years? It's almost been 40 years (37 to be precise)
T2 he said man
@@quasar960
It was released in 1991. Can you count?
Best terminator movie ever
Big time, True Lies is a close second though
Back when the movie was better than the trailer.
Lol, I know, right? Now, just watch the trailer because it's a pretty good bet that the film will be rubbish.
Trailer kinda sucks for spoiling Arnie being a good guy.
@@r.p.4756 I did not watch the trailer in those days so when I saw this movie for the first time, I thought Arnie was a bad guy until he protected John from T-1000
And the trailer was soo good...
back when the trailers made the movie. T6 doesn't do much. Looks about as bad as T5. and worse than T3. T4 not sure about... Love watching the T2 trailers.. But why they came up with T2 to such a great effective and have T3-6 be so bad I have no idea. ie there's just some movies that shoulda stayed where they were. I consider T3 to be the end of the series in that timeline.
It would've been a hell of a plot twist if they never revealed that he was actually good in the trailers. Imagine watching the film and you think that 2 terminators are coming to kill John and then all of a sudden you see him say get down and he shots the other terminator.
To be fair i didn't know when i watched terminator 2 the first time. Epic plot twist. I was like WAAAAAAAT
My parents didn't take me to see it in the theater when I was young. I had to wait for it to come out on VHS. The movie was not spoiled for me either. When I finally watched it my mind was blown.
I never knew there a part one of this movie
Just what I was going to say. And if you watch the movie, it's clear that it was written and directed and edited to make Arnold being good a surprise.
it was not known at that time.
no internet, only some monthly cinema papers, and maybe trailers from previous movies in theaters.
One of the best action movies of all time!
THE best
Han SoloTubehd No doubt!
THE BEST IMO
Sci-fi
@@Jandresanchez The sci-fi element is so lean in T2, it's basically frosting on the ultimate 4-decker action cake
This masterpiece is over 30 years old and still holds up in the special fx department Today. *Cheers* to the entire cast and everyone involved with the production of this timeless film.
Im 39, i turn 40 on Saturday and i can STILL remember my grandpa taking my 9 year old self to see this movie in the theater in 1991 and it blew my mind. To this day this is my favorite movie of all time and it will never be topped. What a classic.
I was 9 yrs old as well when my cousin took me to watch it. This movie traumatized me after seeing that scene where the nuclear bomb goes off in LA, I couldn't sleep for days.

How did the theatres let you watch it when you were 9?

How good can a Action Movie be
James Cameron: Yes
he is the master of direction. I have also created a Terminator video on my channel, Hope you will like it watching.
oh yes.
Why does it still make me angry that they spoiled the movie in the trailer?
@Cosmo Kramer no u
Hey, at least John Connor isn't a Terminator
How did they spoil it?
A Plus cause Arnold was the bad guy before and this trailer reveals he’s a good guy
Yea, me too
One of the greatest movies of all time. A true cinematic marvel. An absolute masterpiece that's stood the test of time. It's entertained us for decades, and will continue to do so for decades to come.
This sci-fi action masterpiece will never get old.
Terminator 2 is one of my favourite action movies of all time! I never get bored of watching it! ❤
Happy birthday T2! 30 year old gold
This movie is about to turn 30, and it still holds up after all this time.
I love Terminator 1 and 2 I used to have to defend this movie to no end nowadays it's unfairly hated just because we live in the current era were everything is a franchise. And some people have this stereotype that Sequels and Remakes are Awful and are only made for Money. Not Every Sequel or Remake is made for Money. Two sequels i think outshine the original are The Bourne Ultimatum and Spider-Man 2. One Remake that outshines the original is Peter Jackson's King Kong
@@josefengelhardt2767King Kong was so dope bro lol. I loved that movie 💯💯💯
Best action movie ever all time!
The rest of the movies including Dark Fate won't ever be like T1 and T2.
@@Immortal_Liberty I'm not sure what Cameron was thinking when he killed off John. He practically set this one up for failure.
@@andrew881000 that was purely stupid... saw a poll that pretty much had 80 % of people thinking the same thing. Emotional impact of the end of T2 was a big thing for me watching in 1991-1992. Music was perfect etc. Now 2 movies in a row thrashed John. Someone musta thought T5 was great and repeated it in T6. (T5 got 6.4 on imdb , T6 gets 6.5.. vs T3 getting 6.3) I'll ignore T6 as a movie.
He was thinking 'I wrapped up John's story in the 2nd film, so I am gonna stay true to my convictions and move the story further. Also, a lot of people might not have seen the first 2, so doing a soft reboot might bring newcomers in. I hope 'fanboys' will be open to new ideas instead of being small minded and stuck in their nostalgia bubbles.'
And this is part of the reason the film flopped: people don't like change, even when it is necessary.
@@NeoConnor1 extremely hard reboot more like it. T3 was better. smh and T4 was better than T3 Makes no sense to kill off the main character of the movie. Destroyed the first 2. That and you're in the extreme minority since it bombed about as bad as the Joke T5. (hate it when people bash others. okay bash ya back. Wanna talk Fanboys. Fanboys destroyed Star Trek and Star Wars. And since it was James doing it this time technically destroyed Terminator . pointless now
@@SagePatrynXX You didn't even really read my comment. I am not in the minority when it comes to the movie. Most rankings I have seen have placed it above 3-5, which I liked all as well. As far back as 2000, on the ultimate edition DVD of T2, James Cameron said it was Sarah's story, not John's story. It never was. If you think it is, that is fine. No one should take it from you. As for your comments on star trek and star wars, what are you trying to prove there? Star trek has been declared down and out so many times it is practically a broken record at this point. And Star Wars? Yes, the fanboys are the problem there. Not for me. I actually like every single film. But their constant complaining has caused them to sound like whiny ungrateful children about a franchise they apparently love. All I was trying to do was allow the hateful, disrespectful fans on here to open their minds and realize that no filmmaker is out to offend them. They are just trying to entertain and maybe enlighten some people. If I offended you personally, I apologize. But I I will not apologize for what I believe was done with good intentions to those who need to get off their high horse and stop making it all about them.
Best Trailer with the best Voice Over Artist Don Lafontaine, R.I.P
“Back for good”
*dies in molten lava*
Lmao it's a play on the word "good"

Back for good as an on the good side
Stop spoiling!
@@tuomasm.383 Lmao, dude it's been out for 30 years. It's like telling your History teacher to stop spoiling. 😂
The ‘back for good’ line here doesn’t mean he’s staying, it means his mission is for the good. We call that a play on words 😂
....that and a play with "I'll be back" of the previous movie, that was already iconic...
thats true, I have also created a Terminator video on my channel, Hope you will like it watching.
When the mission was deemed complete in the end... well, we all know what happened 😢
One of the greatest action thrillers I've ever seen; when the T-1000 morphs inside the helicopter and says "get out" to the pilot, freaking jaw dropping
Don't know who the narrator is
But man he is good
don lafontaine
And when he died, they straight up just stopped having narration in movie trailers.
@@warnegoodman You're so 180 degrees from right with that comment, it's sad. "thecianinator" is 100% percent correct. After Don passed, the "trailer" voice vanished. Why? Because Don HIMSELF ensured what he did would die with him. How did he do this? Well, he literally turned what he did into parody when he appeared on camera for the first time for Geico's commercial. Everyone knows which one it is. NO ONE laughed at a Don Lafontaine trailer in a theater then, but he made sure to make a mockery of it in the eve of his career, because people THOUGHT it was just about having deep pipes. If you actually listen to him here, his voice is not extreme in any way. It hides out with the on-screen action. He switches gears so precisely based on the WORDS, it can only be described as...storytelling. And that is not a trend my friend, the parody is.
This has gotta be, hands-down, the best sequel ever! Most sequels just show the progression of the protagonist against even greater odds but T2 literally took an unstoppable, inhuman, killing nightmare, scarier than Jaws, Jason or Michael Myers, and had everyone CRYING over him by the end of the movie, regardless of the fact that he's a machine! It's mind blowing.
THE GODFATHER: PART 2......
Not far off though. This is my second choice.
I was 8 years old watching this in the living room with my family. I’ll never forget my dads reactions as we watched. Still one of the best action movies hands down! Dad passed away this year 8/4/2021. He was only 64 :(
My condolences brother, I also saw him at that age in 2008, now at 22 he still gives me goosebumps.
Rip
Your dad sounded awesome
My sympathies, my friend.
there is very few movies that I can watch thousands times with the same pleasure. (Sergio Leone saga, pulp fiction, Scarface, platoon, old star wars, predator ... )
Terminator 2 is one of them, maybe the best action movie ever. If you start the movie, you can't stop it !
Jesus Christ this trailer and this film are the best. Even 30 years later
Here is what i love about this movie
1. Great Writing and Directing by James Cameron
2. Great Music by Brad Fiedel
3. Great Special Effects
4. Great Acting
5. Great Ending
I Love both Terminator 1&2 They're both my Favorites I don't think neither one is better i just love both
Terminator 2 is how you make a good sequel
eeh, erf m. well, not so much about the acting. Effects aged pretty well.
@@gorkskoal9315 Linda Hamilton's performance is wonderful you can feel the worry in Sarah when she has the nuclear Nightmare and in the scene where she tries to kill Dyson. Happy 30th Anniversary Terminator 2 ❤
Being born in 1998 seeing all 6 or 7 movies 2 is still my favorite
When i look back at my childhood i see this movie.
One thing this movie does is that it gives you the impression that Arnold is a bad guy at the start, and it’s a HUGE plot twist when it’s revealed that he’s on John Connor’s side. I wish this trailer would’ve kept it a secret.
Still though, this movie is better than all of the newer terminator movies COMBINED
Agreed. Clearly, Cameron wrote the inversion of cop/outlaw in order to fake out audiences, but the producers couldn't help but spoil the reveal because they wanted people to come out in droves to see a fun Arnie movie rather than another depressing post-apocalyptic film where Schwarzenegger is a cold, emotionless cyborg. Some of his most recent films at the time were Twins and Kindergarten Cop. Schwarzenegger hadn't really played a villain since the original film and most Americans had never seen it.
I do wonder how it would have played out had they kept it a secret. Up until the shootout at the mall all you had seen was what appeared to be Robert Patrick slugging a cop in the stomach and stealing his uniform, while Schwarzenneger had broken people's arms, stabbed someone through the shoulder, thrown another guy through the window, burned someone on a stove, and then forced them to strip, pleading for their lives. It could have been an amazing reveal.
I think there are certainly shots that keep it ambiguous, but Cameron gives you plenty to tell you Arnold is the good guy. So I never say it as a plot twist. I was 10 when I saw this opening day. Anyone who saw the trailers or researched the film knew Arnold was the protector. But even in the opening scene when the T1000 appears to kill the cop, and has that manacling look. It's clear he's the antagonist. In contrast Arnolds appears is almost comical. The biker assaults Arnold first and he doesn't kill anyone. Plus Cameron inserts Bad to the Bone which instantly tells you he's the good guy.
It's certainly a twist on the formula from the fist movie. But it's not a plot twist in T2. Cameron's final vison tells you right from the start. I don't know how anyone can be surprised. Don't get me wrong, I love they don't hit you over the head with the fact Arnold is the good guy. But I think clearly enough there to figure it out. It doesn't make it any less of a masterpiece. I just don' see it as a twist, when pretty much everyone knew going in & Cameron shows his hand right from the start of the film.
@@faz6877 You're right that it might be better described as ambiguity than a proper twist. I was going to mention the contrast between the use of humour throughout that scene (the waitress sizing him up, the sunglasses grab, Bad to the Bone) and the humourlessness of the scenes with Robert Patrick as indications that it was never intended to be a secret.
@@horseytown Yes I think that's a great point. And I'm not taking anything form the film. You are 100% right they knew had such a great film could give everyone the set up without taking anything away from the masterpiece put on screen.
I introduced Terminator to my cousin, he was shocked at the twist after watching part 1.
Best movie ever. If only I could erase my memory and watch this masterpiece for the first time again.

I don’t think I fully appreciated at the time how badass Linda Hamilton was in this movie, but I do now.
