I have put 18,600 on my 2018 CBR 1000RR and I have no complaints. The only modifications have been full Akropovic exhaust, K&N air filter, PowerCommnderV and Dyno Jet auto tuner. I know that I should flash the ECU but the reality is that I would never use all the power of the bike. Honda is very reliable and doesn’t have any recalls.
I own a 2023 CBR1000RR and love it. It is the best looking motorcycle ever designed. The Ducati Panigale is a close second but the beautiful dual DRL on the Honda with the red front fender are unmatched. Power is ferocious. Handling is solid at speeds over 100. The rear sets are more comfortable than Yamaha or Ducati. Reliability is epic. And the front of the RR is better looking than the SP. Your comments were entirely subjective. You should have taken your warranty to the dealer and had them fix the problem.
Dealer visits total 12. Honda deemed is a Lemon and bought it back for me at 100%. I ended up getting an R1M I never looked back. Own a 2023 fireblade SP currently and I love that bike. I have the 2017 Blade, almost exactly the same as yours (different engine map). Now, in the UK, you can only buy the CBR1000RR-R. However, if you want a very, very fast road bike that you can use on a daily basis then go for the RR if it's available where you live. It's much more comfortable on the road and really does feel like a 600 with its agility. I swapped my 2015 GSXR1000 for the Blade and the difference chucking it into a corner is like night and day - I nearly crashed on the test ride because it turned in so quickly! That is what makes it so much fun on the road, top speed means fuck all. It's all about cornering and having the confidence in the bike. It only has 189BHP (not much I suppose....😏), but that is definitely enough on the road. Set the suspension up for your weight and riding style and you can't go wrong. If you want a track day weapon go for the CBR1000RR-R, ZX10, R1M, S1000, Duke etc. Just don't expect them to be comfortable on a long ride!😂 (I know that the US version is power restricted for emissions, but you had yours flashed - so, if anyone is taking one on a test ride then please keep that in mind if you are in the US. They are not restricted in the UK). BTW, I owned a 2004 Kawasaki ZX636R B1H (proper track weapon - check the reviews) and the Blade is even more agile but with around 75BHP more. I was always a Kawasaki fan boy (started with an AR50 converted to 93cc, jetted, racing reed valves etc.) and have owned so many over the years. However, the CBR1000RR has a much better build quality alongside the agility in comparison to my Kawasaki's. The Kawasaki's I have owned had amazing engines and huge amounts of charisma but were always flawed in other ways (great front end, crap back end). But to make a video dogging on the cbr and how it performs and handles when you clearly haven't properly put it through its paces the way it was designed to do. If all you do is point and squirt down the highway then sure the honda will feel lackluster against the 200hp+ rivals.

@@CK_RIDES the S1000RR is awesome. Sadly, the dealer in my country is horrible, they’re selling the S1000RR M package for like $40k 🤣 base model for $31k.
Thanks for the video. We all have our opinions. I think I would still take that Honda over the Kawasaki. But would probably agree with you on your Yamaha
Have a 2015 cbr1000rr no riding aids, no electronics, and even thou im not by any means a great rider it makes me feel and look like im one, that bike will do anything to keep u on the saddle, friendly for beginners, and a beast when u need it, the best of both worlds... and yes... reliable as hck
The 1000RR fireblade was meant to be a litre bike in a 600 flickable body. A proper comparison would be the 1000RRR to the ZX10R and im glad you've had nothing but good experiences thus far with your Kawi but they are not known for their reliability something major will break unexpectedly on the Kawi that probably shouldn't. And Honda even though they have fallen short on their newer models aside from the RRR... On average they are better built and balanced better the Honda 600RR is a perfect example of that or the RRR fireblade SP or the 1000RR SP but the "1000RR" SP (rare) but the regular 1000RR again was meant to be a "litre bike in a 600 body." which i will admit as a Honda fanboy they failed majorly on the 1000RR its known as the weaker litre bike that needs a Tune and full exhaust to unlock its capabilities. BUT the Honda 600RR's and the RRR's and any SP models are where it's at with Honda. Ride a RRR SP and it out does the ZX10R in every way. No shade to Kawi... But sometimes alot of extras for less money means you sacrifice quality. Honda needs to update but Their brakes their engine their clutch and Ergo standards are better.
unfortunately on the kawi after flashing the ECU the auto blip does not work correctly, After talking both with chris moore (moore mafia) & woolich they both confirm tuning these bikes screws up the downshift/auto blip, its frustrating when woolich who makes the software to flash these ecu’s doesn’t even know. I found all this out after having my 21’s ecu flashed.
@@CK_RIDES If that's the only issue with the bike, you could just get an aftermarket quick shifter installed and calibrated. Look at strain gauge QS units
That would be kind of hard since I already did it. But I can show you how I did it. It’s not hard. You just have to take the rear cowling apart a bit to get to the bolts.
I feel a lot better now hearing you say you’re 50 because I got rid of my bike (CBR1000rr) back in 2015 but now want to get another sport bike but at 43 I figured I was to old lol.
Hi what's your thoughts on buying a new 2023 0miles CBR1000rr they discounted it to 15k. I think it has no ABS and no quick shifter. What are your thoughts on the deal? Bike was 16.5k and they are wanting to sell it for 15k with zero miles it doesn't even have the battery installed yet. I honestly never owned a 1000cc super sport before. I ride a z900 currently. I also found some person owning a zx10r 2022 with 3.5kmiles he wants to sell it for 14k. so I am honestly leaning towards zx10r because it has a lot of electronics aid. CBR with ABS is kind of dangerous? whats your thought on that? thanks.
Awesome video been riding sport bikes for years did see a new Honda on display last year really thought it looked sharp but own a Yamaha mt 10 and its a fun bike Subscribed
Idk i bought my cbr1000rr 2023 and came with the quick shifter...dealer really got a extra 600 out of you. If you get a check engine light and turn off the bike especially abs it wont show,if the lights come on check it while the bike is on.
Good helpful info, Thanks. 👏👏👏 I really want an R1 but the hype says they are uncomfortable, are they? Commutes and the occasional trip will figure into this along with every day riding, 6' tall and love rpm's and top end on no traffic roads. You can't really tell much from a test ride.👏👏👏💀
That Plastic is not ur ordinary Plastic.. its to reduce the weight. Hondas r better at Track vs Kawasaki and Gsxrs due to its light weight or else its the slowest bike in all 1000cc catagory
Bud...PLASTIC is PLASTIC. And I'm not on the track. This is real world riding. And with the CEL issue...I would never take this bike to the track. Could you imagine what a debacle that would be??? That a place for my trusty R1's.
I wonder why kawasaki has so many championship races yet people say its not reliable also kawasaki has the fastest production bike 😂and its not reliable kawasaki is as good or more than alot of the bikes made today

Honda have really dropped the ball as far a build quality on their later models, their paint finishes are left to be desired (thin and scratch easy), they are very plasticy and small things like the single use, disposable hose clamps on the coolant hoses are a really nasty touch. I had a 2018 CB1000r and it was a disgrace, rusting tank and paint falling off the sump... I now have a 2017 ZX10R and it is practically close to perfect, well finished, everything is very solid, alot of metal used still and perfect build quality. I agree with your video 100% And Honda are pretty good at making boring, under-powered bikes too.
Have you had an experience with a 23’ GSXR1K? Looking at a 23’ KRT for 15.2 OTD or a 23 GSXR1K for 14.6 OTD. The reason I ask is the bikes are 2 states away from me, but I have an old family friend who owns a dealership. So I’m able to secure some good pricing.
Well wait a minute, if someone flashes the bike, then the electronics start going haywire, how is that Honda's fault? If you want a luxury bike, get a Ducati or a Brutale. Honda doesn't make luxury bikes, they never have.
The CEL problem happened way before we ever flashed it. We were trying to remedy it with the flash. The HP sucked before and after the flash. Honda CBR1000RR = 💩
@@CK_RIDES Assuming it's a manufacturer defect, I don't think flashing it would fix the problem. Since it's a new bike, why didn't you just take it back to the dealer?
But the R1 doesn't have cruise control, which is a Major breakthrough on these type bikes. Instead of taking a break you can just set cruise for a couple minutes. Rode all the best for almost 30 years, here I come, get ready :) thanks you're an Artist of the Sport
My biggest complaints on the ZX10R is the bright green. I much prefer the blue of Yamaha or red of Honda. Suzuki has cool colors but the green, I just can’t fall in love w it.

Honda has so many issues with the 1000 i would not get one and i own 2 hondas. The QS issue on the K kind of makes it deal breaker too. Thanks for sharing.
Honda has great bikes. But theres no tech like the kaw has and it cost more. So honda was a no for me. So i am buying the 23 zx10r tomorrow and cannot wait lol. Im 31 and its been 5 yrs since my last bike. So im excited asf right now lol. Im buying the black/grey with gold accents. Its beautiful imo. Was goimg to get the krt green but no local dealer had one. And i love the black and grey too so im buying that one.
I literally just bought this exact same bike. I am having issues with my quick shifter as well. But that is literally my only complaint. This bike feels like a 600 in the canyon as far as throwing it around. It’s so easy to maneuver and ride. I went from a Honda, CBR 600 RR to this. I will never go back to Honda. Every bike that I buy from here on out will be a Kawasaki.
That makes me sad lol, as a smaller gal the cbr is perfect for me, I’ve had issues with the engine light but honest to god I looove my Honda, ridden an S1k and an R1 and I still prefer my cbr all day, pretty interesting to see the Kawi over the Honda tho, maybe I oughta give one a go
Funny thing that I recently noticed about liter bikes, is that the only the more money than brains club can afford to buy these bikes new from the dealer with all the mark ups and all. I’m not bitter or anything from being priced out of the category. But the same people also immediately take their brand new bikes to the track and hammer on them right out the gate. Then you get us hard working chumps looking to buy a used current gen liter bike from the original owners whom are asking close to full price? Y’all more money than brains kids keep posting yer track day pics on yer social media profiles, it really helps me to know which bikes not to buy.
When you're rich AF like I am...bikes are just things. I can always buy more. I just buy them, modify them, make tons of videos and sell them and move on to the next.
Dude! at 7:20 the Kawasaki ZX-10R does not come with a Bi Directional quick shifter from the factory. Meaning, it does not do clutchless and throttleless downshifts, upshifts only! That's why your downshifts were rough, you need to use the clutch.
I’m a Honda person, I have a 2006 CBR1000rr, but I have to agree with you, the new CBR1000rr does not impress me at all. I’m looking to get the ZX10r because I can’t afford the CBR1000rr-r…..I mean for $18k plus on the CBR, it has no included quickshifter, no Brembo brakes, nothing special about the suspension, and it has the least horsepower in its class.
I’ve owned fire blade and compared to my ZX10r their is a big difference stock for stock the Honda is lacking some for 1000cc bike,, a tune would definitely change things but I don’t think it would b enough,,,I didn’t know how much until I got a ZX10R,,,for a stock bike it is a big difference from my personal experience,,
People like to say; for a 17k bike, don’t expect to much. What… To be honest.. Bikes today are to pricey.. for almost nothing. I paid 5k for my 08 CBR1000 with a few mods. Not tu much… and you see that 2023 ZX10R..? My friend has one and he still hurt…. I gapped him 3 bikes distance.
The Fire Blade is 2x the cost. This is a 2023 CBR 1000RR. These are both priced similarly and if you watch the video again I did this video at the request of a subscriber. Its a level playing field in my book.

You’re 50 years old? I would have guessed like mid 20s 😮. great comparison, thank you! Ive seen a couple of your videos now and the ZX-10r seems like a great bike at a really good price.
Yes. Almost 51. I love the ZX-10R. I'm picking up my BMW S1000RR this week. Super excited.
For sure.
I really want a Honda RRR or SP model to really ride myself to experience that. I'm going to see about getting an order in.
Dudes really comparing a 30k bike to an 18k bike. This is the right comparison and Honda just loses badly here.
unfortunately on the kawi after flashing the ECU the auto blip does not work correctly, After talking both with chris moore (moore mafia) & woolich they both confirm tuning these bikes screws up the downshift/auto blip, its frustrating when woolich who makes the software to flash these ecu’s doesn’t even know. I found all this out after having my 21’s ecu flashed.
It's pretty bad. If I cant get this fixed this bike will be traded for a Ducati Panigale V4 or V2 Bayliss
I have the same issue with mine.
@@megatron7811 Its so interesting that Kawasaki has not addressed this. It seems so widespread
@@CK_RIDES If that's the only issue with the bike, you could just get an aftermarket quick shifter installed and calibrated.
Look at strain gauge QS units
i am facing same problem on my 2019 CBR1000RR with woolich race kit. Screws up my shifting and no support from woolich what so ever
can you do a video on how to install the NRC fender on the ZX10R? thanks in advanced.
Shit 😂I thought I was too old at 35 lol well let me get my happy ass on a bike
@@obriantomlinson2776 I happy to say I now have a ZX10R lol
CBR with ABS is kind of dangerous? whats your thought on that? thanks.
Awesome video been riding sport bikes for years did see a new Honda on display last year really thought it looked sharp but own a Yamaha mt 10 and its a fun bike

Idk i bought my cbr1000rr 2023 and came with the quick shifter...dealer really got a extra 600 out of you. If you get a check engine light and turn off the bike especially abs it wont show,if the lights come on check it while the bike is on.
You got lucky. Thanks for the suggestion
@@CK_RIDESyou used woolich to flash the ECU? There's your source for any issues you're experiencing 👍

My RR is an animal, you need a better exhaust amd a better tune/flash
I like your narrow little stands for frontzees. How nice! No lateral diddling, side to side.

want a comparison between CBR 1000RR-R vs BMW S1000RR
Sourav...the S1000RR is in transit and will hit US soil in 2.5-3 weeks. Stay tuned. I won't be buying a 1000RR-R anytime soon but I'll look into it.

Did you have the ecu flashed on the cbr???
Yes. 2x.
@CK_RIDES my 19 I can't keep rear tires on it. Did you remove intake restriction plugs? Try turning off aids put traction to 1 then hold arrow down button, will reset on power off. That will then turn off wheelie and traction.
BTW enjoying the content well done sir!
@@Turtle-RR I had Chris MOORE do it and he can’t explain why the CEL keeps going on.
@@Turtle-RR thank you so much for the support.
1k subs here you come!! Let's gooooo
Thanks a million Tulski...I appreciate the support. 🙏🏻
I feel like the plastics on the zx10r are also plasticy on my new gsxr 600 the plastics look like carbon fiber design which I really like
Thats awesome...
went for a ride today after work beautiful weather
It was a great day to ride.
So did I,,I’ve been waiting for a couple days all the rain we had,,
Well wait a minute, if someone flashes the bike, then the electronics start going haywire, how is that Honda's fault? If you want a luxury bike, get a Ducati or a Brutale. Honda doesn't make luxury bikes, they never have.
The CEL problem happened way before we ever flashed it. We were trying to remedy it with the flash. The HP sucked before and after the flash. Honda CBR1000RR = 💩
@@CK_RIDES Assuming it's a manufacturer defect, I don't think flashing it would fix the problem. Since it's a new bike, why didn't you just take it back to the dealer?
@@lamachhorne9043 Took it back 6x. Enough was enough and traded it in for a Kawasaki ZX-10R KRT edition. Problem solved. Never looked back.

Yes. I do. We have track day this next weekend.

I will say the shorter wheelbase on the Honda is on purpose. Makes the bike more flickable. But yes, agreed that Honda is falling behind in the game.

I just sold my 17 sc77, and it IS squirrely high in the rev range.
I've got a zx650 r 2023 and I've already outgrown in less than 6 months; have my pre-booked H2 coming in mid-may; was somewhat seriously considering the cbr1000rr but not anymore - will enjoy the H2 and then might get an R1M; great vid btw - subbed! Rubber side down!

I think he mea t rubber side down
Honda has so many issues with the 1000 i would not get one and i own 2 hondas. The QS issue on the K kind of makes it deal breaker too. Thanks for sharing.

Joshua, I’m stoked for you brother that’s gonna be amazing
I bought my 2023 cbr with 1600 for 13k the cbr has a lot of restrictions that takes the fun out of the bike
Where you from
I literally just bought this exact same bike.
James I have owned them all. Hands down the WORST bike I’ve ever had in the arsenal. Love my Kawasaki’s. ZX-6, ZX-10R and ZX-10RR

@@CK_RIDES yea I agree for sure .. I like the older 2006 models 👍
@@CK_RIDES Trash talking aside, thanks for the comparisons.
Looks like your heal would rest in the pipe on the Honda. I agree though Zx10r over cbr1000rr
I bet You got a bad flash or they messed something up installing your exhaust and quick shifter. No one is has reported the same issues you have.
Actually there’s a whole entire forum dedicated to how much this bike sucks out of the crate.
The shifts are alittle lazy my 2020 zx10r is good but not perfect
I concur 💯
I too have had a go on both it would definitely the kawasaki only down side was the gear box a little bit cocky
Stephen you're not alone in that opinion.
Dude! at 7:20 the Kawasaki ZX-10R does not come with a Bi Directional quick shifter from the factory. Meaning, it does not do clutchless and throttleless downshifts, upshifts only! That's why your downshifts were rough, you need to use the clutch.
Honda all the way!
Love my 05 blade!
I concur. It's sad really.
Too bad that Honda looks 🔥
Similar to the bmw
I know
I’ve owned fire blade and compared to my ZX10r their is a big difference stock for stock the Honda is lacking some for 1000cc bike,, a tune would definitely change things but I don’t think it would b enough,,,I didn’t know how much until I got a ZX10R,,,for a stock bike it is a big difference from my personal experience,,
Lee....you're not alone in that opinion. Thats exactly what I experienced. Even post ECU flash the Honda CBR is a slug.
Just put the Yoshi on my zx10r I love it!

The Fire Blade is 2x the cost. This is a 2023 CBR 1000RR. These are both priced similarly and if you watch the video again I did this video at the request of a subscriber. Its a level playing field in my book.
your ripped pretty hard on the honda but I agree thier bikes have les features adn more expensive
