Was on the fence between a Tuono 660 Factory or Kawa z900 SE. Due to lack of dealerships around where I live I decided for Z900. I was also anxious about Aprilia reliability and many reviews including this video proves I was correct to be concerned. Sorry to hear about your issues, and thank you for sharing!

This video was suggested to me by youtube. I guess by now the algorithm knows that I've been having problems with my new Tuono V4 as well. Please let us know what happens to your bike. So far my dealer has been helpful. What does not help are the Aprilia loyalists who turn a blind eye and do not acknowledge that there are some bikes released from the manufacturing process with something fundamentally wrong or defective with them. The "its a racebike" argument is not logical. It is a road bike, not a race bike. I guess the QA part is really not something they prioritize. The bike works great when it works. Then it such a big disappointment when it doesn't..

If it was such a well known itch why didn't they update the software before handing it out to you?

Context is important, once you start messing with the bike you can no longer blame the manufacturer. I know people with 20k miles on their rsv4, another with 10k on their rs660, and met someone with another rsv4 with 18k. No issues from non of them. Also people have pride with their non Japanese cars or bikes. The negativity is louder in all of those bikes. BMW had issues with their S1k many times, or its perceived that way because those people are louder.

On Aprilia’s always run the calibration when change sprocket, tire or wheel. If you don’t it causes sloppy shifting and tc engagement. Put in calibration mode start from 1st then shift to 2nd and hold it 18mph till it says it’s complete

Not really a like for like comparison, the Ducati is a Ducati, the Yamaha is a Jap bike, as simple as that!

If you put that exhaust on without a tune or flash, you should get it tuned and flash see if that helps

Sounds amazing. Also looking at the rear swing arm you need the heal guard if not your going to mark it up FYI (right side )

Mines been great, hopefully it's something simple. I noticed in pt1 you ended at putting fuel in it, maybe something there.

My rsv4, would turn off randomly too and the display would go off like it was a hard restart in a computer. It’s happened multiple times. They replaced the ecu and many other things and never figured it out. Aprilia bought my bike back because it broke down multiple times and was in service for over a month. 350 miles…. 4 tows.

My Aprilia was a pos and the factory bought it back.

Man I’m tell ya,, I’m a life long kawi fan,, but I rode a rsv4 some and I really really like it,, it and the r1 is a close second to the zx10,

Aprilia is not beating the reliability accusations yet it seems...

Will that harness work the same way for my ZX10R? I’d definitely get those mirrors if I can get my head lights to function as turn signals…that is cleaner than the board of health!

The Bren tune completely changed my 660. On the first test ride i whiskey throttle.

I'd paint that passenger peg that's holding up the exhaust in black if I were you. Other than that... amazing looking bike, that's that classic beautiful Italian design for you.

Love the bike but I guess I’m a little bias, I’m a big kawi fan, I’ve bought 4 new kx 450 dirt bikes the last 12 or 13 years and two new zx10r over the past ten a gen 5 and in 22 got the gen 6, but I have rode a couple of the gen 6 rr and there’s quit a bit of deferance , the rr to me just fills more light and flickable and the moter fills more peppy and revs faster and higher,, there’s a deference, and don’t listen to the trolls , you can exsplain nothing to them they rode the short bus back and forth to and from school,
