This comment is the beginning of a NEW era, because people don't yet know what is about to come. Traum WILL be one of the biggest chnalles out there with Rousseau I wish you all the best! Keep going!!
Alexis Mandelias Agreed. Rousseau doesn't play with a lot of emotion on most of his videos, it feels robotic. I also dislike his tendency to prioritize shitty pop song covers over actual piano pieces, but that's just me.
Learn sheet music btw if ur starting off my brother and I both play and he learned it this way and now doesn't know how to read sheet and how to hit notes when he needs to its kinda funny cuz he played ballade no 1 in the same tone
@@Madness801 agreed although visualisers can be a viable option even with years of practice I am barely able to keep up with etudes when i watched the videos. Learning sheet music is definitely great in many different ways and even if you already have lots of experience using the visualiser it doesn't hurt to at least try using sheet music it makes it so much easier
Not many people realize that your actually playing even faster than some of the best performances of the piece. You played with incredible flow and musicality, amazing! I hope one day I can play this etude at your level!
No this was just sped up u can see at the beginning that he just sped the video up because u can’t move your hands that fast out of that position and the sound of the video
Amazing! I would love to learn this piece one day. It is definitely one of the shorter Chopin Etudes, but by no means easy. Congrats for the epic clarity of your performance! Things to Do
There's something, I'm not sure what. The strings, the pedaling, or simply the emotion and ferocity he adds to this piece that make it sound just incredible.
I think this piece is quite underated, not for its technical challanges in which I honestly think its a bit overrated but musically. I think this goes for almost all of his etudes altough some of them are obviously more melodic and lyrical than others (this one not being one of the lyrical ones) but if you try to actually listen to this piece and make sense of it, playing it slowly in your head to me at least a meaning greater than just its technical difficulty emerges it is a piece which has not a conversation between the left and right hands but an absolutely brutal fight to death where the left hand eventually wins out with the c# minor octaves at the very end. You hear the anticipation which is released in tiny bursts giving a sense of anxiousness which I believe was the feeling Chopin was trying to convey this is in stark contrast to something like the 3rd scherzo where there is anticipation similar to this but is released in a huge amazing outburst right at the end of the piece ending on well exactly the same notes as this piece if I'm not mistaken. Amazingly fine slight contrasts in dynamic and articulation also make a huge difference making this one of my favorite interpretations yet. In the beginning I interpret the right hand as the first character the victim (possibly Chopin himself if you want to go that far) and the left hand as the agressor, now the characters switch hands a bit but they are both relatively easily recognizable throughout the whole piece. Character 2 is really this annoying scary unavoidable figure that I believe most of us if not all have enountered in one way or another that is nagging in the back of our heads with self doubt and self critisicm. Character 1 I see throughout this whole piece attempting to escape from character 2 to become free but always being dragged back down. I imagine the right hand movements to the upper register being character 1's attempt to gasp for air before being dragged down to the depths again by character 2. When you start noticing it it is hard to let go of the thought and to me at least it really brought a new perspective to the piece that I havent thought about before.

@@empirax2789 There is one part that is correct in your comment, Traum's piano playing does showcases what the optimal piano playing should be like in a perfect world. And with that fact, that's how Traum has won several international competitions where I believe the judges all had more than 9 years of piano playing experience. Is it because they also have seen the inhumanly fast movements and in the musicality of the performances? These judges are not deaf nor blind. @@Traumfanblueheron Traum very well may be a professional pianist. with his large repertoire of pieces, it does make sense. but do you have any evidence to back this claim up? if he has won international competitions, his name should be out there, right? even assuming that Traum is a professional pianist, that doesn't discount the accusations that Traum alters his videos. many of his jumps, like at 0:02, 0:10, 1:02, and 1:48, are inhumanly fast. slowing the video down at these time frames makes the hand jumps seem more realistic. even if you believe he doesn't speed his videos up, there are many times where he covers his mistakes up with editing. at 0:06, his RH appears to play B, C, and D with his pinky, and the LED lights show as much, but we only hear the C being played, and the C being displayed on the visualizer. some more instances: 0:08 RH appears to play only A flat on second chord, but we hear and see the B, E flat, A flat chord being played. 0:10 RH appears to play only A flat and B, but we hear and see the E, A flat, B chord being played. 0:31 RH appears to only play F on the third chord, but we hear and see the B, F, and A flat chord being played. 0:32 RH appears to only play E on the third chord, but we hear and see the B, D flat, and E chord being played. 0:51 RH pinky doesn't even play the notes half the time, but we still see and hear all of them being played. 1:08 RH thumb doesn't play C and A, but we still see and hear them being played. 1:10 RH thumb doesn't play G and A flat octaves, but we still see and hear them being played. if you slow down the video and really look for those inconsistencies, you will find them. i'm not saying Traum is a complete fraud or is untalented. Traum is probably more talented than the vast majority of serious pianists there are out there. i'm just shining light on how his videos aren't legit, and i don't blame him. the youtube algorithm is very unrewarding to piano channels, forcing content creators to come up with extremely clever ways to revolutionize their content, like how Rousseau did. but calling Traum's performances "legit" does not display integrity.
