Man i wish this channel would've existed when i started. The best reload animations I had to take inspiration from was rainbow six siege lol. I hope this channel becomes a goldmine for up and coming viewmodel animators
I find it interesting that you used Halo CE -> Infinite as a comparison for how much more time and effort goes into viewmodel anims nowadays since Bungie’s Halo 1 viewmodel work was some of the best and most detailed at the time. The animations for the CE pistol and other weapons are either equal to or outclass many of the game’s character and cutscene animations in terms of detail and quality which is why I found it surprising you’d use that footage comparison to back up your point about more devs realizing how important viewmodel quality is when they take up so much of players’ screen space. If anything, the quality of CE's viewmodel anims compared to other titles at the time shows Bungie was one of the few devs that really understood its importance in the early days of 3D fps titles. Sure we get even more fidelity today in games like Infinite, but I like to think a lot of that has to do with how much better the tools and hardware are. 3D packages were slow to work with, engines and asset modification interfaces not as user friendly, and the gaming hardware was not as powerful, placing limits on how detailed animations could even be. Ok, just thought I’d throw in my 2 cents. Definitely interested in seeing the content you create here!
Ooooooh okay you got me super excited! Just when I started to learn blender. I love watching weapon reload animations, and often find myself joining an empty server or staying still in games just to see the wonderful animations some have. This will be awesome, earned a sub!
I noticed something and it's that Infinity Ward is making something revolutionary in animations. You said CoD 4 was pioneer in stylized viewmodel animations now look at CoDMW 2019 that shit was almost a flu, every game wanted to have those animations. BF2049 is just like a last gen MW with the BF maps and vehicles
