I am also moving and working at a new school in the fall. When I packed my classroom, since I knew I was going to buy new stuff anyway, I picked one student to give most of my supplies to. She is the one that has the most need for it, but she also happens to be the most deserving of it. I had never seen her so happy! She left with enough to keep her busy for the summer and extra for the new school year!!! 💜

Your channel helps me remember what my teacher does for me. It helps me remember that I need to use good behavior. You just really inspire me so much. I respect my teacher and help her move things for her
I love watching your videos! I just finished up teaching Kindergarten for the year and wanted to share a tip for packing up. I also agree that masking tape tends to get baked on so we started just writing with a sharpie on the table itself so you don't have to buy anything. The permanent marker will come off with a magic eraser. If there is still a little residue you can write over top of the permanent marker with a dry erase marker and it looks brand new. Not sure everyone can do this, but it has saved myself and the other teachers in my building time and money. I love your shower cap suggestion. I would never have thought of that, but it makes so much sense and I will definitely be utilizing that in the future. You are so organized and creative.
I really enjoyed your video. I already do many of the things you mentioned, but there were a few new ones I hadn't thought of. People always think I'm crazy for doing next year's copying at the end of the year, but the line for the copier is INSANE at the beginning of school and I have better things to do. I always prep things during summer school. It makes things SO much easier for the following year. I have painter's tape on my list. Great tip! Thanks for sharing! ❤️ and hugs from Missouri!

When I was in elementary school, the teachers would sometimes give away their extra things to us kids at the end of the year. I remember getting posters and such from some of my teachers and it was so exciting to me as a young teacher wannabe! :)

I found you channel about 3 weeks ago, and I've watched every single one of them ... not joking here ... I am a college student, not planning on becoming a teacher, planning on becoming a dietitian. But I must say, I really wish I had a teacher like you that I could go back to and visit even today and talk to about life. You seem like such a genuine and caring person and that can't be said about some of the teachers I've been with. This is perfect timing! The last day for kids is June 1st. I just found out I am looping up to fifth grade with my kids. This means I have to move my room on Friday. We also get a check list from our admin and have to turn it in on the last day.
I am a follower from the uk and state schools don't break up until the end of July!! With only a six week break. Hope you enjoy your summer and enjoy your new school

Those large and extra large ziplock bags are perfect for storing extra clothes for students. Ask parents to send in a change of clothes. Put the clothes in those Ziploc bags and label with the child's name. When a change is needed, the wet clothes are sealed away and sent home. No smell! I even ask for clothes in 2nd grade because kids jump in puddles or spill food on themselves or get sick. Extra clothes are not just for bathroom accidents.
I'm in sixth grade and I always help my teacher break down her room!

those large storage bags are amazing. I use them to store large bulletin board pieces. I slip a hanger through the handle so I can hang the bag up. I reinforce the seams with duct tape from dollar tree.
Great video! I took notes on the student jobs portion. Another thing i have my kids do is wipe down my small dry erase boards. Hand sanitizer usually does the trick on stubborn marks!
We are done June 23. I'm changing grade levels, but probably not rooms. I have started to pack away 2nd grade things I won't need for next year- without the kids noticing a change in the room. We have a end-of-year checklist and must make a map for the custodians. I've had an "essentials" box for years. I leave it on the top of all the boxes and mark it clearly so I can get to it as soon as I am able to get back in.

Great tips! The end of the year just seems to be an accumulations of to do list's. Using shower caps is such a fantastic idea!
Great ideas. Student last day is May 31 and mine is June 1. I am fortunate because I can go in and work all I want all summer long. The janitor knows to clean all the other rooms first because I will be there for a while after school lets out. It just gives me time to quietly work on new ideas for next year. Things are always changing and I try to improve for every year. When will you know where you will be teaching next year?

I teach high school, and our custodians draw a map of each classroom on the whiteboard before they clean it out. When I first saw it I thought it was an awesome idea!

My district doesn't allow us to break down our physical space until the last day or two of the school year! I try to get drawers cleaned out and organized since I can't actually start taking things down off the walls.

Wow. My last day was May 26th. We go back Aug 7 and students return on August 21!
Last day for kids was the 24th. My last day was the 26th. It was a mess because my personal life took me away from school for a day and a half. I just barely finished around 4 on Friday.

One tip is to be strict to everyone and stricter to the ones who misbehave
Usually it shows them that they need to improve their etiquette or else consequences will occur. My teacher has done that :)

what my second grade teacher did was she had a sheet with each of the students names.If the teacher felt like they were good that day they put a green dot if they were not they put a red dot.If they get ten green dots they get a special surprise

Hello! Could you make a video of what teachers really want for the end of the year presents? I always feel that when I am choosing presents for my teachers they will not use the stuff I give them. I have seen that many teachers get personalized gifts that they don't really use. Is this true?

Hey Michelle, I'm a middle school teacher in Germany, but I'll probably move to the states in the next few years with my American boyfriend. I was wondering whether I'd be able to teach in the us or what the requirements for a teacher are over there? I'd really appreciate your reply :)
Littlehell7 the requirements are different in every state. if you want to do private school, most only require a degree in what you want to teach. public schools require you to be state certified and that requires you to take tests to assess your content knowledge. You also have to have at least a bachelor's in most states, some require a master's degree. also sorry for the terrible formatting and bad grammar, I'm on mobile. 😀

Littlehell7 depending on the state you may just have to take some tests to become certified in that state. I recommend doing research online depending on the state(s) you're interested in.
