  • Mischa Janiec breaks the stereotypes of Natural Bodybuilding to describe how lifting weights helps people reach the best version of themselves. Namely through understanding the relationship between mental and physical fitness, recognizing self-reflection as a success driving attitude and learning that failure is a necessary step towards success.
    Mischa Janiec is an Entrepreneur, Social Media Influencer, Personal Coach and Pro Natural Bodybuilder from Switzerland. He became the Swiss Natural Bodybuilding Federation Teen Class Champion in 2011 and won the Overall Title at the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation Muscle Mayhem 2016. Apart from being a Pro Athlete, Mischa has become a famous European Social Media Influencer. He has thousands of followers on Facebook and Instagram and millions of views on his youtube channel. He is also the Co-founder of Profuel, a vegan supplement company, Chief Marketing Officer of a clothing company named ProBroWear and helps people get in shape with his Online Training Course “Lean Bulk System”. I want to confess that years before doing bodybuilding. I've used to smoke like 35 cigarettes per day, I was overweight and stress rash on my face.
    I also had in the past some panic attacks, and other mental problems.
    The gym changed my life completely. I have an really nice body, my skin is good.
    And my brain works at 100 percent. I have more confidence. everything got better.
    I hope that if somebody have depression or other problems, like anxiety, read this and give it a try.
    Love from Argentina!

    He did not talk about the energy level but when you train, you actually have more energy to do things at night after your whole day at work instead of just watching tv. You can plan something and actually achieve it because there is gas left in the tank. I always hear people say they are soooooo tired. I'm tired too, but after a training session at the gym, I have a reason to be tired!

    I watched this video 5 years ago and was inspired by it. Then I signed up for a gym membership and my life got changed completely, I do not mean I can lift 100kg weights or do 100 pushups but I am healthier and happier . Until now I still often go to the gym 4 times a week. Sometimes I remember to this video and feel grateful. Thank you for this inspiring video.

      I've been going to the gym since last week and I am feeling happier, with more determination and creating a new healthy habit. I used to go two years ago, but I left it because I didn't have the correct attitude or right thoughts, and now I decided to come back without obsession, comparing myself to others and looking to the whole picture as the speaker says in the video.

    Started working out with only body weight in 1971/2? My uncle helped and he said arm circles, push ups, pull ups, grip strength and leg development are the keys.
    In 1977 & 1978 I entered power lifting contest. I did well and it gave me strength, determination, tenacity and commitment. I am 66+ now. I still try and remain active today in weight training, bicycling, RUCKING, HIKING, WALKING DOGS and kayaking. Get off the couch.

    Body building made me quit drinking lean(prescription syrup), made me stay away from drugs that were actually ruining my life, those drugs made me lose a lot of appetite, I would be looking at good food and I'll be unable to eat, and I'm a very skinny guy. Body building gave me a lot of determination to get the results I wanted and made me quit anything that stood in my way. It changed my life drastically.

    • @tarazed84
      @tarazed84 7 років тому +10

      It does create a deep bond with yourself, no argument there. :-) There are definately big gains in terms of self discipline and health, that is true. I actually admire people who go to the gym every day and work their a** off. But for me there is a line which separates those who just do it to be healthy and fit and have a nice body and those who are just full of themselves and can't stop staring in the mirror.
      I feel the latter ones don't lend themselves as role models, especially in an instagram-filled society where selfishness is actually a big problem...

    I believe this. I was going through depression after failing school and losing everything. I also had an accident that broke my tibia and plateau fracture. I lost weight and became more confident, it has nothing to do with looking good, but getting the mental image of strength to make it in this harsh world. Every time I do physical therapy I feel like a new man, and my doctors see this. I can now walk unlike a few months ago. Later, I WILL RUN!

If you had ever watched any other talk, apart from this one which is your first, you would known that it is not "anyone" who goes on that stage. For the record, a homeless cooking a rat would be on the stage provided you were the rat.

    I also see no reason to assume this guy uses steroids. I've seen guys bigger than him that doesn't use.
    Ironically, he is talking about self confidence and all the hate towards him I see in the comments is the perfect example of a LACK of self confidence. Trust me when I say he doesn't care about your opinions but yet you all seem so desperate to share yours... It's quite unbecoming.

I have a lot of confidence now, and I feel like my thinking is getting bigger. I recently started doing workouts at home everyday, just simple stuff with dumbbells, push-ups, jumping jacks. etc. And I can attest what this guy says is spot on. Down to the smile you get when you look in a mirror, to that thought that says, "you can be better". I've gone from a size 42 to a 38 in 2 months. I Know. It's not a drastic change, but i'm also gaining muscle. You have to start somewhere. And that's a cliche for a reason. This big dude wasn't born that way you saw, He was Eric Foreman skinny yo. The way I look at it, you must take care of yourself because you want you. Not because you want to look good for others.

      What's the differences between TED and TEDx?

    • @ncooty
      @ncooty 7 років тому +50

      +Jeff Vick TED is an annual event hosted directly by the TED organization (with the original intent of getting angel investors to fund great ideas to save the world), whereas TEDx events are locally organized events with only a loose association or support from the TED organization (with the intention of raising the profiles of the speakers and the organizing institution, without the hassle of valuable content or peer review). Attendance at TED is by invitation (at least, it was initially); attendance at TEDx is open to the public. TED talks are often fluff, gibberish, and inflated claims of success, and that is nearly always the case with TEDx talks. The formula for both is generally: cheerleading (i.e., raising awareness) + misinterpretation of insufficient data + a call to slacktivism. They aim to make you feel like you've listened to something informative about how everything is going to be OK, whether or not either is true.

      Pretty ignorant comment. There are regulated competitions, which have drug testing where natural bodybuilders compete, and then there are unregulated competitions with no drug testing, where those on steroids and alike compete. Natural and Pro go hand in hand perfectly.

      You are the ignorant one.I've been in the game for a long time and I've been to competitons and I can tell you that all atheletes are on PEDs,no matter the time or place of the competition.If there is any money involved - PEDs are always there,even if the competition is proclaimed to be "natty only".You 've either lived under a rock and don't know shit or you're just trying to grab ppls attention....

    Been a natural BB since 1973 and what you say about the mirror is my main training technique. Its so much deeper than how you can explain to someone. The mirror does not lie and is your friend but is honest. Ask a human friend how you look and they might not want to hurt your feelings as a friend and lie and say you look fine. Natural BB is the only way to go folks as its healthful and this guy is correct, its a lifestyle. My speech to people thinking about getting into natural BB is to always remember, ANYONE can walk in off the street and lift weights, natural BB is 80% nutrition and mental clarity...you will have peace of mind. Clear skies.

    It's my second time watching this talk, and this gentleman is speaking the truth. However, I can say with confidence that only 1% of the attendants and viewers will stick with a lifting routine in the long run. Most people give up just before they start seeing results, because muscle building and neuromuscular adaptation takes some time. Also most people don't eat right, don't train right and don't recover properly. As soon as you get these things dialed in, results come much quicker and you can keep progressing week after week. Great talk! I always feel happy and more energetic after a hard workout 🙂

      Er war früher mal etwas bescheidener, als er auch noch nicht so bekannt war. Jetzt finde ich ihn leider etwas abgehoben und ja du hast Recht, viel Tiefe steckt nicht drin. Evtl. aber für *Schublade auf* die Fitness-Szene hoch-philosophisch..

    I almost died of a degenerative muscular skeletal disorder, so as a last ditch effort I started biking. Which turned into about 2-3 hours of hardcore fitness almost every day, with a few rest days. I used to be a very skinny guy, but since then I’ve gotten ripped and feel ten times better. My doctor even said I no longer suffer from the disorder and it’s kind of a miracle. Just goes to show you, don’t ever give up.
