I love listening to this girl speak. I watch any interview of hers that I can. I am a swimmer. I’m pretty good but nothing competitive. I really look up to Katie and her mindset. She’s a beacon of hope to me. I wish I had more people like her in my life. “Go for the gold”

It's just disrespectful especially cause its an awards ceremony. For some althetes you don't even need to watch the sport to know how to pronounce their names.

I am glad that Sarah Spain brought this up on ATH today, as i was wondering if it was I, who didn't know the proper pronunciations?! Maybe when they put the names of the Winners in those Envelops, they'll have to start doing what they use to do in Dictionaries, and place the accent (') mark above the syllable that should be most emphasized during said pronunciation, if that would help?!! Otherwise, overall, it is nice to see the ESPY's becoming gradually more inclusive of our Female Athletes!!
