Hi, guys!
This week there were a few ‘break days’ from rainy season, so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity and check out an area our friend recommended to us called ‘Ikseon-dong’, at Jongno-3ga station in Seoul.
We weren’t quite sure what to expect from Ikseon-dong, but wow, it was SUCH a cool experience. It’s a neighbourhood with narrow little streets and alleys lined with traditional hanok style houses. It was really like going back in time walking through those streets.
The weather was SUPER hot and humid, so after venturing around for a while, we caved and ate some patbingso at ‘Sulbing’, a popular Korean dessert cafe. They have the absolute BEST patbingsu in our opinion!

Oh, I know that feeling when a smell brings back a memory! Not quite like deja vu, but so real. You made me laugh when you said they'd probably think you were perverted if you went and smelled their laundry!... That milk bingsu! YUM!!!... I've always wondered about those timed cat feeders. Why do they have to be so loud?! I think Beemo's caution and hilarious reaction is probably typical of what most cats would do... Have a great week!

Hi! I'm from Toronto, Canada. I am Chinese Canadian (born in Toronto). I love watching your videos, especially all of the ones showing where to shop and eat. I also enjoy your background music. My 16 year old daughter is into Kpop and I enjoy listening to her group BTS but I also enjoy Got7. I hope to bring her to South Korea one day for a vacation. I have been to Hong Kong and parts of China a long time ago but I think I would enjoy South Korea. I am saving all of your videos so that I will have something to look back at when planning a trip. Keep up the good work! You guys make a great couple! (I am using her UA-cam account and she gets mad because I am saving so many videos).

I watched this video when it first came out and immediately knew I wanted to visit Ikseondong, too, when I went to Korea a couple of months later. It's so nice to have this as a reminder cos I went to Korea and Ikseondong again this month and it's hard to believe this is what it used to be like there. There are definitely some cool places in the area nowadays, but overall I prefer how it used to be and this video takes me right back.

You guys were just walking around where my office is - it's amazing to realize how close we were.
One recommendation - if you haven't done yet, and if you guys can come as far as Jongro then try the Ahnkook-dong area.
There is an amazing steak pan fry restaurant right across the Constitutional Court of Korea. Or if that place doesn't interest you, another one across the street called Oak Hill restaurant serves good steak lunch and salad bar at a reasonable price which is located nearby exit 2 of Ankook station.
The Constitutional Court is located in an area that was known as 'Je-Dong.' Je meaning ashes, the area does carry some tragic history. Remember during the early time of Chosun dynasty when King Dan-Jong was forced to give up the throne to his uncle who later became King Se-Jo? Je-Dong was the area where numerous politicians loyal to King Dan-Jong were massacred that the blood odor could only be avoided by sprinkling ashes all over the area.
If you don't feel interested, then you can try Un-Hyun palace, the private residency of King Go-Jong before he became King.
Right across the street from the palace is Min Ga Da Hun (민가다헌), which used to be a private residence of one of the last ministers of the old Korean Empire and now a restaurant. It's one of my favorite places in Jongro - you guys can probably produce amazing photography there.

The brownie-bingsu from Sulbing is so good! I'm sorry to say that I can't handle eating red beans in a desert so I can't eat the regular patbingsu. But the brownie one is so good! It tastes like really soft fudge.
