OK, I see you also have the plate to put the DD ON TOP of the heater, so can you show instructions for that since the rods etc get moved, I don't want to wreck anything, as seeing the DD on top is much better for viewing:) I LOVE this idea, now I just need to find the unit to work with my car...maybe you have some DD model ideas to look up? And your video information is clear and visible to watch. I usually like hearing people talk what they are doing too, as it confirms steps:) Cheers and thank you!
That is something we plan on doing once our 3rd gen is back together, the interior is currently out of the car. It's a very similar process as the regular double din with no rods or other parts getting moved, the Heat/Air controls slid down and radio goes above. There is enough slack for everything to work. Crutchfield.com is a good source for radios, they show plenty of pictures of the radio so you can find one that has a chassis like the picture we have on our website. Unfortunately anything with a CD player won't fit.
I like the way your kit makes the interior parts stronger...for the temp control...nice! Now to find what I can get that size to fit my car for the rest of it:) I need a new stereo!LOL Cheers, and thank you. Going to look up your kit:) Any suggestions for a quality radio, etc with back up? I love that idea a lot as I have a tiny tent trailer for summer for mine:) Thanks so much!
@@screamingchickentx Yes I do! I have almost the same Alpine you have in your car. MIne has the DVD in it and a few more buttons. Still a nice old unit! Added new speakers back and on dash, upgraded those. I love good sound!
My selector heater wire is extremely tight when I try to put the heater on the bottom and radio on top . Did you guys have this problem? And if so how did you fix it ?
@@screamingchickentx do you have a part number for the one installed on this video? I ordered the brackets already I just need the bezel like the one in video do you guys sell that separately?
That is something we are working on in the near future. Found a center console from a 1982-84 Firebird to use for test fitting. Will know more in the next month or so
Unfortunately the only solution to that would be to eliminate the hvac controls. If you went to an aftermarket heat/ac system than you would also have more room.
Right off the bat i love how you have everything out where we can see way better at what we are looking at 😅 😎👏🏻 Awesome video
Thank you ! We were wondering if it being out of the car in the video would be confusing.
We are planning to do another install video with everything in car as well since thats how most people will be installing it
🔥🔥🔥
I wonder if y’all would do a BOGO… I have 2 Camaros that need this but I usually just shave the factory bezel til it fits 🤷🏽♂️

When will this be back in stock?
We're waiting to hear back from our supplier, hopefully by late next week.

I prefer the standard bezel with the radio on the bottom. Moving heat/ac to the bottom is a tight fit and will have a couple of issues like that.
Great video do you know what size the double din is? I ordered the kit now I need the radio
The bezel has a 4" tall by 7" wide opening. Works best if the radio is less than 4.5" deep. Crutchfield.com lists dimensions on the radios they sell.

@@dariusbrown5378 The radio in video is no longer made. Email us at scfbody90@gmail.com to buy the bezel with no brackets.
@@screamingchickentx got it thanks I will reach out for bezel with no brackets
@@dariusbrown5378 That is a Kenwood radio, but JVC and a couple of other brands have radios the same size and would also fit.
Sorry, does the basil come with the radio?
We sell bezels also
What kind of double din fits 1984 firebirds

Does the Plaza come with the radio?
We also sell bezels
So i cannot install a Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB into my car as the dept of that are 160 mm (6.3 in approx)? Any way to work past that at all with this kit?
Unfortunately the only solution to that would be to eliminate the hvac controls. If you went to an aftermarket heat/ac system than you would also have more room.
@@screamingchickentx What about if i move the heat controls below the stereo?
@@frankkjllefjord446 same problem. Controls are too big to leave enough space for a radio that size.
What kind of radio did you install?
That's a Kenwood I bought about 2-3 years ago.
So I can't use 7 inch screen?
Opening in the bezel measures 3.985" x 7.11" for the radio.
If only it were about half the price 😂, it’s double what the radio even cost.
You found a double din radio for $50?
