I own every single "A" series Canon 35mm from the 1970's. There were 6 of them from 1976-1982. They made the AE-1, AT-1, A-1, AV-1, AE-1 Program, and AL-1. These cameras are fun to use and have lots of features. Interestingly enough I have the owners manuals for all too as well as several lenses of all sorts. I enjoy taking 35mm slides and projecting them with my Kodak Carousel Slide Projector. If you really want awesome looking photos with deep deep color go for slides.
Hey Stu, yeah just get on Fuji Film's website and look for slide film, they still make it. You can also order it from Adorama. When you send your film in to be processed you just write "Process E-6 and Mount" on your mailer or photo envelope. That tells them that they are slides but they should see the E-6 on the side of the film canister but I still mark all mine. It also tells them to "mount" your slides in the slide mounts (Only way to project them). You only need a slide projector!
Hey Clemsonbloke! That's super cool! I see carousel projectors and stuff all the time, but I don't really know how to use them! Haha maybe I'll have to learn how and make a how to! Thanks for the advice and your view! -Stu
Just be sure to read up on taking slides because the exposure latitude is slimmer and less forgiving on them than Prints (C-41 process). I think you'd really enjoy making slides once you figure it all out and see how beautiful and extremely colourful they are projected. Nothing else looks like them and remember that is what magazines and publications used for years to take their photos with. Best of all to you!
It just totally depends on what film you put into it, i have the exact same camera as is in the video and i currently have standard Kodak colour film in it
Hi im sorry i dont wanna sound like an idiot but can this camera take colored photos and not just black and white because i went to college and took a black and white photography class and this was the type of camera we used and i was thinking of getting it for colored photos and have them printed at walmart and also use it for more classes so i wont have to barrow the schools anymore?
Hi ! I've also got a konica autoreflex tc. How do you change the asa ? I've got a 200 sensibility film and i want to set the asa according to it, but can't find how to turn that button!
My Konica Pop shreds film between the teeth holes and doesn't wind on because of this so I end up with a load of double exposures, anyone know a fix? Is it common with this wind on mechanism?
GIRIBAE Well, there's that indicator next to the shutter button that indicates how many photos you have taken, and film packaging has the number of photos you can shoot with a roll.

Wrong. You will damge your shutter this way. Never, NEVER pull straight across. Never run your finger across the shutter or push on the film near the shutter. Pull the film toward you until you have enough to lay it across the back and insert it into the sprockets without putting your fingers anywhere near the shutter. Also, don't tension the film before closing the back. It may slip off the sprockets. When you advane the film 3 times to counter #1 look for the rerwind knob to turn. That's your verification.
8 years later, thank you how to stu for teaching me how to load my first film camera!
Ahahaha! Me too!
Thanks for the tip on winding the film back just a bit. I appreciate that. Very good video!

Okay, can somebody help me with my Canon Al-1 35mm? I can figure out how to turn it on. If somebody could reply, that'd be amazing! (:
What are you trying to turn on x it’s an analog camera
