I think you can also add that for a lot of people, smoothies do not make them full because they are drinking their calories and not getting the full satiety they get from chewing food, despite having enough fat, carbs, and protein. That’s why I think for those who prefer eating meals but want to make a smoothie, they can add toppings like pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes, bee pollen, cacao nibs so it tricks your brain that your eating a full meal with the chewing component.
@@ivystorm94 you chew before you swallow. Some enzymes are only released from chewing so if you're just swallowing smoothies you aren't getting those enzymes. Look it up.
That’s cool but I’m not talking about chewing or swallowing. I’m talking about adding toppings to smoothies to make them more satiating. So I guess you would chew and swallow anyway!
The way you talk so enthusiastically about the foods and recipes you suggest is the real deal. Thank you Autumn for the solid inspiration and direction to achieve my weightloss and wellness goals. 👍❤️🇨🇦
Keto porridge is my new favourite breakfast 😋 I make it with, chia seeds, milled flaxseed, Almond flour, protein powder & coconut milk, topped with berries.....so filling!!!
I'm enjoying your recipe for cottage cheese blueberries and peanut butter right now as I'm typing. I like your real food recipes and looking forward to trying many more. Thank you! Also don't change a thing about your videos everything is perfect! 😊
Hi Autumn you never disappoint lol. I love eggs but I tend to have high cholesterol so I cut down on eggs. Breakfast is my absolute my favorite meal of the day. Your peanut butter smoothie is one of my favorite and I love the waffle recipe as well. Thank you for all the great idea recipes. Have a great day everyone
Yeah, good ideas … I do protein pancakes a lot it looks like I do what your hubby does. I make a whole bunch for the week. haven’t used cottage cheese. I use almond flour with protein powder and eggs.
Autumn, could you please add options and or alternatives for those that can’t use protein powder due health respete issues. All these are great breakfast choices I would love to have but they all require protein powder. I m sure there’ are many In my shoes.
I happened to have all the ingredients for the almond butter blueberry smoothie on hand! I just made it and, let me tell you... omg, it is sooo delicious 😋
Would you have a suggestion for a powder to gain weight. I’ve been making my dad smoothies everyday with the muscle milk powder. I like the higher calorie ones but stay away from the 128grams of carbs. My dad doesn’t have a good appetite, so the smoothies are the way to go and he needs to gain about 25lbs. 💜
interesting content for people like yourself that can consume LOTS of dairy products. I suggest as added reading and research in your field that you study how essential amino acids - the building blocks of protein - need to be combined. Peanuts that are legumes should be consumed with grains. So having peanut butter (the kind that is only ground up peanuts) spread on a whole grain toast has more protein available than only eating those foods separately. I've been joyfully eating this way for over 40 years now and I really suggest reading "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappé. I read that book in my early 20's and I truly believe it has kept me healthy.
Looking at the nutritional breakdown of your sponsored thing, it doesnt seem like it does very much for what works out to $5/day? What am I missing here versus other vitamins?
Try having baby boomer English / Scottish parents…there was only one breakfast. Porridge. Porridge and more porridge. Would completely blow them away to break that routine 😂 seriously I love your videos and imaginative yummy recipes. Thank you 🇳🇿 🇺🇸
Hi! I can't wait for you to try the "oatmeal" recipe! You can find the working link for the Pumpkin Spice "Oatmeal" recipe here: www.autumnellenutrition.com/post/grain-free-pumpkin-spice-oatmeal-recipe-~-fat-burning-breakfast
I'm not a big fan of cottage cheese unless I blend it smooth to make it a whipped cottage cheese (I have major texture issues). Does it reduce the protein in it or change the amount I need to use in a recipe?
Why do you never put your apple cider vinegar in your smoothies? It makes me feel like there is a reason for it but I can’t find an answer… it’s the only way I can swallow it but am worried I’m doing something wrong, because why wouldn’t you put it in a tasty smoothie (unless you just really love the taste of it in water)?
Dear Autumn, can you help- I am in my late 60’s and want to lose about 20 pounds. Your recipes and meals are to tempting, but I’m afraid to try them, because all the high fat content will make me gain even more-? I don’t really intermittent fast because I eat 3 meals a day, and my eating day starts about 5:30am and ends about 4:30 pm, so that’s a comfortable 12-hour fast for me. The food looks so good, but I’m afraid I’m too old to do eat this way- what do you think? Thank you for any advice you can give.
I’m also 60 and am eating mostly meat and a lot of butter. I have not gained weight. I have actually lost a little. I try to intermittently fast for 16 hours but that doesn’t happen very often. I’m rarely hungry but do still have cravings for junk food.

How in the world has oatmeal "liKe ZerO pROtEiN"? Now idk if you just have different foods where you live but in my country oatmeal has 15g of protein per 100g, so its about the same as milk or yogurt or quark. Idk bout you but if I had a good portion of oats and milk for breakfast, I could probably skip lunch because it does in fact not "make me feel hungry pretty soon". And another question how can it be "low quality protein"? Grain was actually the number 1 nutritional food that kept people from starving in the middle ages. Bread pasta and oats is as natural as it gets so if there even is a quality to protein then thats definitely better than any grainfree man made alternative
Hi Dawn! There are a variety of factors regarding carbohydrates and a wellness goal. Taking into account the glycemic load of the carbohydrates will be a deciding factor in addition to the activity level on a person's individual carbohydrate tolerance. Um…Steel cut oats have 8 grams of protein per 1/4 cup. If you balance with fat and protein it does not spike blood sugar. Also, most ppl who do get blood sugar spikes from oats are prob getting them cuz they’re instant oats or cuz they add a bunch of brown sugar…And who says oats don’t keep you full…whenever I eat proats, I literally don’t feel like I need to eat another meal, but I do to make sure I get enough calories. You prefer processed protein powder and processed waffles over a whole food-girl, please. Not saying those are bad, just saying.

Great video ! Could you do similar one with high protein breakfast that do not container protein powders ?
adding a nice load of lightly whipped egg whites to oatmeal bumps up the protein and makes it creamy and delish!

Any recommended swaps for getting extra protein without using dairy? (Other than just using more protein powder)

For normal heathy people, why do you steer people away from carbs? Normal blood sugar increases in a healthy person are not bad.
Carbs from natural whole food sources are fine. The ultra-processed hyper-sweetened junk in packaged food is the problem for a number of reasons.

Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter has no oils. The only ingredients are peanuts and salt. It is great in smoothies.
