How to Use Your Gold & Shop Effectively - Dota 2 Fundamentals (Episode 5) - Ігри
Man remember those dark days when there was only 1 corrier for 5 players ...thank gaben we each have one
*PTSD flashbacks*
Yeah, it being fed via a script and you can’t turn that guy back, talk about not being able to afk farm lol
Remember the days you had a bunch of hotkeys for a bunch of shopkeepers at base.
And you had to beg your supports to buy 1.
PTSD

Thanks bsj 😘 I'm finally 1k. I was giving up on dota till I found u and specially this series
I recently started DOTA 2 and was lucky enough to find this series after my first week of playing. This series is gold and really helping me out and getting into good habits early on. Thanks for sharing such valuable knowledge. Legend.
I'm completely new to dota 2 and I appreciate these videos that have stayed up for years. Thank you.
really love how you've been including homework with the videos. I can imagine this would be really helpful for new players. nice video as always.
this kind of method not all 1-2k player using it, or even 3k player. lack of regen on starting item , dont have hotkey for open shop. This thing will make a new player become MORE better than old player because they learn all the basic thing.
btw keep it up BJS! since last year i start watch every video of yours and it make me gain mmr from 3.8k mmr (ancient 1) to 5.3k mmr (divine 4) now even im playing with 20 fps. tysm!
good luck on your journey!
1-2k is terrible cancerous pit. Imagine trying to last hit against your qued hard support with a carry hero and build. This is a bigger issue than the hotkeys tbh
@@PolntBlank not really,if i see someone saying tht they stuck at 1-2k because of that, theyre something wrong with their mindset😂ofcourse we cant gaining mmr if we keep blaming our team instead improving ourself.
@@muqz2424 From 3.2 to 1500 and back at 2k now. Having teammates using shadow amulet and afk in random spots around the map, with all your jungle camps warded with sentrys. I'm telling you from experience that blaming my teammates is perfectly fine. DOTA has become a game of 0 min rage and 5 min quit when the game doesn't go PERFECTLY to most players in this MMR range.
@@PolntBlank well for me, blaming at myself is more important. there are nothing u can get if ure blaming ur team, it end up destroyed ur mood. u cant even make urself improve as a better player if u blaming random people.
trust me,if u having this behavior, u will just being so desperate to have a good teammate every single time u played
Much appreciated, lesson like this of this high quality are rare, and that fact you gave us it free of charge. Gaben bless you.
hey I've been working with the videos on a recomendation from a discord person. Started playing like 3 days ago and these really help me get out of the old LoL habbits I've been fighting against.
this tutorial is pretty complete as far as i see it now. Im a league of legends player and i saw many things i already know about mobas, but this guide is pretty advanced for a rookie. If you want to know everything about shop and wave control, this tutorial is the best.
I remember when you had to buy the corrier and then share the unit with the other players so they could use it.
I'm a former competitive player, but I'm still watching all the videos simply because this is becoming the best complete Dota1/hon/dota2 introduction I've seen so far. Beautiful educational content, we'll done bsj
salute to this man for his effort! you ROCK!
The fundamental I never knew I wanted💓
Tbh when I started watching this video, I thought this was a waste of time but I still learnt about the legacy display for shop. I have over 4k hours on Dota. I might be a noob but thanks for doing this BSJ!
Thanks BSJ very useful hints
The best guide video for the itemization in dota 2.
Great content!!
U brought back my dota 2 life bsj
you find his address and stalk him ..until he gets out of his house.
Thanks for your work
I never miss a cs, just like a never miss that like button on BSJs videos
The adding to quick buy option got me to high legend. Kinda funny most reasons why i didnt rank up before is because i wasnt maxinizing the feature dota has
What is the shortcut to open shop in dota 2?because when I'm buying i always shift my camera pan to our base.
what puchase stiky for? iam looking for it
Thanks BSJ. Love ya work mate.
Can you explain what sticky purchase is (mousewheelup)? I can't find the explanation after watching your video again. My sticky only buys tp scrolls, can you set it for something else?
Many thanks from Australia
By default the TP scroll is your sticky item. In this case mousewheelup will purchase tp the same as quick buy. You can change sticky by dragging whatever item you want to where the TP is (bottom right of screen)
I dead ass did not know you could open the shop by clicking there. that would have been helpful to know when my keyboards usb port broke mid game a while ago
Good tutorial 👌👌👌
Holy shit I never realized there was an old shop option. I like that one wayyy better.
We could add multiple items in quick buy. Thanks bsj
thanks
i feel this is soo good even for a player with 5k hours played
Is it bad to buy and deliver each treads component separately? Maybe only in bad lanes and in good, you keep the gold to deliver treads in one go after boots?
No, it is a good thing, especially on a carry, any item you have makes you stronger and your lane easier. You need to think about small items as power spikes too. No one wants to go in a losing trade so having gloves of haste and brown boots when enemy offlaner have only brown boots means you have trade advange you wouldn't had if the items just sit in your base.
I took a 5 year break from dota, I still double check that no one’s using the courier. :/
trying to find the video where he says 'you are all 2K' pls help
I haven't found videos regarding buyback and when to buyback, but as an 800mmr hard support (I started Jan 18 and only got 400 games atm) it's been my habit to buy items but leave enough for a buyback so I can tp back and win the fight. It depends on the scenario though but usually happens starting the 10min mark. Is this a good or a bad habit?
As a starting point, 30 minute mark is your time. Before that, buying an item will benefit you more in fights than keeping buyback. Imagine you are lion sitting on 2250 gold but you need 400 more for buyback? It willt take you another 1-3 minutes to get it (in worst case you die); however if you had blink - you immediately become dangerous to anyone, plus you can escape. Same with other supports: buying glimmer cape is huge and can decide an outcome of a mid game fight; same with items like force staff, euls, ghost, blink, mekanism and so on.
In general, I like buying stat items on supports (wand, brace) to get tankier in fights because they are extremely cheap. Worry about buybacks when you have core items (force euls glimmer ghost) that you need; and only then keep buyback. For some heroes core item may be Aghamnim’s scepter (like warlock). So its case by case. Another reason why you don’t prioritize buyback as support is because you’re likely to be lower level than your carry, which means you respawn much faster.
But for lategame 35+ minute, you ideally want to keep buyback on you. If it’s 45+ min: not having buyback may be gamelosing.
@@nektarsolne4niy804 Thank you so much for the explanation brother
@@sinful9341 anytime, brother. glad to help!
Member when we shared a courrier
Why creating a lobby (and type cheats for start and teleport to lane) instead of just demoing the hero?
Demo has no ping and different lane landscape
And there is high-low ground, which probably BSJ will talk about later :-)
i just can not get gameplay down i just am stuck and i just can not improve
1:38 You did in fact not talk about what sticky is
Here’s something I don’t see addressed frequently.
Instead of queuing treads.
What’s your opinion of queuing +6 band and then gloves of haste. Do you think agi is better overall?
I like to build stats when building treads, it also puts them into the correct mode when delivered and saving me a step while focusing on last hitting
And lastly what about a support queuing clarity / wards instead of the TP scroll ?
I think it depends on your lane matchup and how well your next time synergizes with your game plan. Also depends on the hero.
I'm sure you'll make similar counter-arguments as well.
@@hellionak2756 Yeah I was looking for something analytical like the percentage increase of dmg using stats vs attack speed but that's hero dependent on gain per level.. and at a certain level. When i hear these things, that's what helps me make a decision that im questioning!
Yep, I am stupid when looking at the item tray i.e. six slots plus three in the backpack. I was wondering why the awesome items I purchased did not work. That is because they were in my backpack. States a very old man. BAH... I wonder if there is an "Old_Man" league.. save over 55 years old.
I've been playing for a year not knowing what a sticky item is.
Hi man
hi bro, i am new player Dota 2. and i can buy item but game is recommend me same items. i want buy others' so command item how i can do you know ? i want all game dont buy same items beca'z i want teach this game why game is want to be all game same items.
This guy looks like donny from barstool sports
Cool very
I accidentally bought 21 TP and I cant sell it all. dang!
when and what is the purpose to quell a tree
it just removes a tree, useful for creating shortcuts and opens up your field of view
@@reedOsama okay thanks but at 14:47 BSJ quells a tree on the outside of the lane why is that beneficial.
@@rongiomi6435 i think its from habit. that protruding tree can be used by the opposing team to hide and do quick swipes at your hero when you aren't paying attention at that area. at least, that's what I think xD

35 cs and 30 denies don’t look realistic for a new player, but can be done without opponents. In a real game, they will probably encounter a 5k smurf in their first few games and die at least twice in 5 minutes, and get only 5-10 last hits. But I agree that this is a very good exercise.
I really wish to see a video about how to not get destroyed by smurfs in the early game. People will need it more than anything.
After playing my 100 hours of unranked games and callibration matches I got Herald IV😐😂😂.
I believe that this basic mechanics series will help me a lot because i dont do these things very well😅.
Edit : I am guardian I now 🙂
I have friends who have played this game for years and are still herald 1 and 2, so you are off to a good start :)
no worries, even people at 2-3k mmr dont do these things.
Where are you now
@@HisMagnificence he quit now

5k games and still don't do most of what this video teaches :D
BSJ has anyone told you you have the sexiest and most manliest chin. On gang.
I feel like when you can do this shit, you will be atleast 2.5k :D #mycarriescantfarm #Icantfarmaswell lmao
I am doing everything mentioned in this video as a pos 1 and I am 1k, usually 60 last hits by 10 mins and can't climb...
I wish they remove item recipes altogether.
