When we were kids my brother and I misunderstood the lyrics and sang them repeatedly as "bubbles, bubbles, what would happen if the whole world was made of bubbles?". After a while mom got tired of it and told us "it would pop. Now be quiet!"
Jaune Tom and Robespierre are unsophisticated yet willing participants, representing a big adult and a small adolescent, whereas with Dumbo (a naive toddler) and Timothy Mouse (a savvy yet small adult) it’s more of a happy accident with an unexpected outcome, of course, which leads to the concluding events in the story.
I think the first time I came across this movie was in December of 1977 or so, when ABC7 in New York aired it on a Sunday Afternoon when no sports were scheduled. Being paused at 2:41, as soon as they finished the song, they went to commercial break with the last notes of Walter Raim's "spinning cameraman" track heralding the pause.
I wouldn't say it's completely not allowed anymore. Tangled had a drunk old guy dressed as cupid and Princess and the Frog had that brief moment with the guy dressed as an octopus getting drunk off 8 glasses of wine.
I really liked this song, but I too was not entirely sure what it was about. It just made the characters seem like they were having a lot of fun. Like the grownups on New Years Eve
On the record or cd soundtrack there's an extra verse to the song. Also, "Bubbles" was originally to be a part of the overture which accompanies the opening film credits. It's a shame these were deleted, along with a possibly extended finale(see my comment on that clip) but I guess the artists were trying to keep a concise running time.
The heroes are unaware that Meowrice is making them drunk...then have them Shanghaid to Alaska...as a kid when I first watched, I was unaware of them becoming drunk!
woke up at 3am one day, the mexican channel was on for some reason and this was playing. the song was in english though :P lol i thought i was dreaming xD
Very good job fellows throughout the 2nd grade AAA8 felicitous week of said surfside June!! Bravo 878% Splendorous classic! This is the most memorable song for me from this movie.
The “Aristocats” was lighter, more entertaining and comedic in some ways, and probably better known… but this film is far more “French” in its feeling and sophisticated and artsy. Even though I enjoyed “The Aristocats” and saw it several times when it premiered, I grew up looking forward to showings of “Gay Purr-ee” and always thought of it in general as a more interesting film.
Kyle Crawford Yes-Robespierre is referred to by a human in the story as a “kitten” but he’s clearly a minor, an adolescent, much like the little dog Chester that follows Spike bulldog in the Chuck Jones shorts, as we’re dealing with his work. Other animated sidekicks are in a similar age bracket, such as Hanna-Barbera’s Boo Boo is to Yogi.
Poever Well, yes and no. The dynamic is different here, with Jaune Tom (adult) and Robespierre (adolescent). They are curious and willing participants, whereas in Dumbo it’s more of a happy accident. And the small savvy character Timothy represents the adult, but naive Dumbo is clearly a toddler!

I haven't seen this movie in 30 years and this song randomly popped into my head today
"Glasses refillable that slop up each syllable with bubbles!"
A drunk song in a Kids movie..... I miss the 60's sometimes
Let's not forget Dumbo & Timothy when they drank the wine and saw the pink elephants
Idk what the 60's have to do with it but I love song lol.
@@ms.divine2024 The movie was released in the 60s.
Every time I listen to this song I get a weird Dumbo vibe. But be thankful it's not as traumatizing as the Pink Elephants song

Lol I was just thinking about that
I loved this movie when i was a kid. I haven't seen it in like 9 years, brings back lots of memories ^^
Classic! This is the most memorable song for me from this movie.
For me, I'd go with the money cat for the most memorable.
whats the name of this movie
@@victornita1999 It's called "Gay Puree". It's got Robert Goulet in it! :3
Back when it was okay to get drunk in a kids movie.
When I go to the Magic Kingdom and see kids play with bubble wands I always sing this song 😂
I had to show my bf the song I was singing.
Lmao that is so cute I do the same.
Every time I’m at Disneyland I’m doing the same!
Robert and Red probably got the giggles doing their drunk talk.
I remember seeing this movie as a kid and being totally enchanted by it. Can someone please put the 'Little Drops of Rain' sequence on UA-cam?
Lol my mom and I enjoyed this song together and would laugh singing it 😁😂
She recorded it before I was born to show and enjoy with me.
Poor guys, they didn't know what kind of drink they were drinking.
I knew i didn't imagine this film!!!

Where kiddies can learn about the dangers of the alcohol drug! How nice.

I used to own this movie on vhs when I was a kid back in the 2000s.

I showed this movie to my brother-in-law and this was his *favorite* song. Mostly because he likes to reference it by going BUBBLES!!
Omg ♡ lets not talk bout the fact that theyre drunk , but that miss kitty is one of the best films ever !
The heroes are unaware that Meowrice is making them drunk...then have them Shanghaid to Alaska...as a kid when I first watched, I was unaware of them becoming drunk!
Nostalgia Critic: FUCKING BUBBLES!!!
Che peccato che questo cartone sia cosi poco conosciuto in Italia.. Purtroppo ai tempi la Disney aveva praticamente il monopolio dei film animati.
I love the movie
I remember seeing this 30 yrs ago.omg.good memories 😀😀😀😀
hiccups
woke up at 3am one day, the mexican channel was on for some reason and this was playing. the song was in english though :P lol i thought i was dreaming xD
This part would never fly around today.

OMG I REMEBER THESE SCENE
I talk about this movie to alot of my friends but they all keep saying I'm crazy and maybe I'm confusing this for the Aristocats

I love how a singer with such a strong voisce tries to act drunk. =P
I’ve been looking for this songs for decades
thank you
sneeze
I love this movie
Mega amazing guys!!
"Gay Purr-ee"
Modern kids have Loki
But for us, Meowrice will always by the greatest smug, smarmy villain.
A slightly more intelligent Snidley Whiplash. 😆
Bubbles!
They're drunk!!
so colorful
Do you know there's a board game based on this movie? Played it in 3rd grade. 🎲 🎲
Instead of pink elephants female cats doing the can can lol
When I looked, the video said it was not available.
Jaune Tom, you're drunk!
Those dancers are really cats?

What??? It's in my channel yet!!!
Look for it among the videos of my channel and you will find it!!!
Good Luck!
Ah this part. Isn't Robspierre a minor?

heeyyyy, they're rippin' off Dumbo!

Sort of, only this isn't as scary or long.
Hell naw this movie outwitted disney

I Love Red Buttons.

What the..?
What is it with these old animated films and substance abuse songs? Lol seriously there is quite a few of them.
Back then, smoking and drinking weren't as stigmatized as they are today.
