I just subscribed, love the way you work, you don’t half ass anything you make sure everything is clean and right. Keep up the good work dude! Love the Dakota.
Thanks for this. Mine has a really really slow leak, so I'm not replacing it quite yet. But it is indeed in the cards for me, and your video just showed me how easy it is to do on my own (Firestone wants $400 for a reman part alone, before labor).
So got a question was wondering why you put transmission fluid in your power steering pump I know Ford does this but mercon is different than normal automatic transmission fluid and or ATF
My truck did the same too, with the manifold leak. But mine, on both sides, the front manifold bolt broke. Produces that nervous tick that makes you think it's a lifter or something.
Nice job. Check your high pressure power steering hose, maybe the return as well. I have a 1999 Dakota and the high pressure hose was rubbing on a metal brace. It cut through the hose, fluid flew everywhere. Mine is a 4x4 Dakota and that was the only way to place the hose. I installed a new one with a thick rubber fuel line around the high pressure hose to protect it. You may not have this problem but it might be worth a check since your working on it.
Help!! Is there Any trick to the rack bushings. I'm on my third set in a month. When I torqe it down half of the extra rubber on the rack bushings folds out against the washer on the rack bolts and the other half folds in. Every time I torqe it to spec it rips the hell out of the extra rubber on the bushing. I'm confused. Can only the 1 peice rack bushings be used in a 01 RT or is there a 2 peice with a inseratable sleeve that can be used. Very little information out there about this
Great video! Your s2000 is bright af.... I thought you had neon green rotors when you took off the front passenger wheel. 😆 Also just one video you should put your viper wheels on the Dakota. 😊
your channel is underated sf. i have been subbed for a while i do admit i disregarded your channel.because i thought you were a douschy brand new dodge ram corvette new car sam crac bullshit channel. i just love love love watching old everyday regular beater cars get brought back to life. Its one of the reasons why i love auto auction rebuilds aka uberman bc he brings cars from the graves and sells em...i hate how he takes massive loses and his excuse is the views pay for it back but nether the less please keep it up we want MOAR MATINENCE vIDS
Got a ??... I own a 00 4.7l v8 .. I replaced the power steering pump .. I replaced the high pressure hose .. But I'm still leaking where they meet .. Seals are all good .. Any ideas on why.. ( I am in the process of taking the pump apart and seeing if theres an issue within it.)
i have watched these for hours an hours, hoping he will hurry,an take to track an run a 8.07 or 7.99 an be very excited...as i wait,an demonology,an one or two others..people are slow at times..i couldnt even afford a decent camera to do this with,as my cat would be my helper, everyone is too old,or far away, or dead it seems.....
Never have had to replace a R&P yet. I hope I never have to. LOL How long did it take you from start to finish? Course you cheater a little with the nice lift. California has pretty much been on fire since the Dems took over. :)
I'm 3 years late to the party bro but thanks once again for the detailed how-to for this replacement 🙏🤘🔧

I love the sound your Dakota makes. I've got a 2003 Ram 1500 I just bought for cheap. I'm slowly fixing it up. I have an exhaust manifold leak too.
The Rack in my 99 Dakota is leaking in the same spot and I am getting ready to change it. Thank you for the tutorial.
Thanks for the video it's a big help.
Awesome lil truck and you're doinn it pro!
630am excellent video
So got a question was wondering why you put transmission fluid in your power steering pump I know Ford does this but mercon is different than normal automatic transmission fluid and or ATF
Following because Dakota content is killer. There isn’t much Dakota content out there.
Thanks brother! More on the way 🤟
That was helpful thanks for sharing bro

Damn bro ur too good at this type of stuff
How do you know how tight to make turn the power lines
Thank you help out a whole lot 💯💯👍🏻🍾🥂
$140??? I had to pay almost 300 for a remanufactured one. That being said, I'm about to replace mine. Thanks for the video!
Rack and pinion bellows are full with fluid, is that normal?? Or something wrong with it? Thanks
Wow, the fire was impressive
danke, very helpfull

What size o ring did you use?
Great info on your rack replacement. Since I have a 02 Durango this info is useful to me. Thanx.

Haha thanks brother! We definitely will once its lowered! 🤟
Sounds like a perfect excuse for a new complete exhaust
I Agree! 🤟
I had to replace pump on mine, was bs driving with no power steering for a time lol
Good job,I'm wondering if I need to replace mines due to a leak as well since it's so cheap 🤔
Depends where its leaking from but yeah its not too bad to replace if its just the rack!

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota sport 4.7L How many quarts of ATF 4 you need to complete the rack ?
Carlos Soria checking in
I take it you bought the remanufactured rack?
How is it holding up after a year?
Still good no issues
@@BoostedMotorsports thanks for the reply!
What year is your dakota?
Adoro ese coche
we allways changed to manual to save power,an set it up just right, save that horsepowder for sure.........
atf???
automatic transmission fluid??
👍
Thanks Corey!
i seen no mud,but molecular structure of slightly barely coated steel,a friggin disaster, no doubt..whew god a mighty..
You need to get different tires and start lowering too 😁 dakotas look great lowered
Next mod... headers! I removed the exhaust manifolds off my 5.9 magnum and to my surprise, no gaskets? Metal to metal and no leaks! Go figure.
in a few years i hope price will go sky high,i might take 8500 for mine, but nope..i doubt it...
Forget the headers, get that turbo kit off eBay use those turbo manifolds. With the turbos obviously.
Thats the plan once we cover all the basic bolt ons and see how she runs! 😎
Man here in Ohio that would of been a headache due to corrosion from salt on the roads. That truck could sell for a pretty penny up here with no rush.
looks like a control burn on the mountain.
you would never find powder steering on my 73 duster,or 73 rallye challenger etc,or 71 scamp, it robs horsepower,an so are the days of our lives...
Pero no le pongas el mismo silembrock 😵😵😵
Crazy. $140us = $500canadian.
Great tutorials lol...
