Amazon carries a brand called elite $57 for a gi with white belt. $20 for fight/board shorts $15 for spats $20 for rash guard. They hold up really well and you can’t beat the price if your new to the sport I’d give them a shot.
It’s funny cuz the whole time you’re talking, I’m thinking “this dude hasn’t mentioned a cup once”. Yesterday I started my first class at 10p, and we were practicing this pass into side control. Me, brand new, fucked it up 47 times before I could get it right...including accidentally knee my partner in the sack (who wasn’t wearing a cup) luckily I was able to stop the weight from coming down so he claimed no pain, just a tap, but I felt so bad. Now, my jock strap is in the laundry and I have class. I feel revenge on its way
khadar abdi lol, HE didn’t, but karma came in the form of a “new” student who absolutely smashed me the next day. He wasn’t new, just switched schools and stayed quiet about his experience. 😂
Problem is that a lot of stuff becomes much easier with groin protection. Like triangles and armbars. Also I feel like it's pressing into my opponent during a back take.
This link should help, the primary problem is that it actually leaves you more susceptible to really bad antibiotic resistant bacteria like staph. www.ecowatch.com/6-reasons-why-you-should-stop-using-antibacterial-soap-1906692671.html
So if you are wearing spats with no shorts on over them why do you need to wear a cup? I have been traing mma along with BJJ for 4 years and never heard anyone say something like that.
I sometimes get mat burn on my knees. So i say i have red knees from bjj. What a difference one "j" can make. Anyway, i haven't tried any spats yet, but i imagine it would be helpful with that.
1st thing you need is a pineapple for the instructor you're visiting. It is a customary Brazilian gift.
LOL
Take an acai smoothie.
UPDATE to this comment
Someone brought in pineapple....
LMAO
thanks a lot they laughed at me
Bring a caipirinha or some coxinha. If they're from Brazil they will appreciate it

Whats the difference from jiu-jitsu rash guard vs normal Nike or under armour compressed shirt?
great vid. if i may ask, why shouldn't we use anti-bacterial soap?
What about headgear?
Why shouldn't we use anti bacterial soap?
Never mind just read your response to someone else's question.

What is soap?
I really struggle with a cup so hard to triangle
Question do you wear your boxers and then your jujitsu leggings then shorts?? Or do you need specific jujitsu boxers?
It depends if your wearing board shorts then ye wear boxers if your wearing tight compression shorts then you don't have to
Any boxers with a high amount of synthetic fibers will do. High polyester or something.
But they will probably tear over time anyways.
I'm sorry but I laughed a bit when he got closer to the camera and said swimming trunks🤣
Nah, spats plus rashguard.
If you've never wrestled, you're probably gonna rub open your knees if you're not wearing spats.
Are compression shorts okay
I am a bit confused are you allowed to wear a T-shirt under your gi
Perdona que te sal-Pique
Why not use anti bacterial soap?
It kilss both the bad and the good bacteria and you need the good bacteria
Robert summed it up perfectly. It kills everything good and bad. Making you actually more susceptible to getting some really bad skin infections.
Thanks!
Thank god I get a discount and Sport Chek lol

I wanna get a mouth piece but my teeth are fucked up so they don’t fit
Get some braces you donut
Mouth guard?
I've received a couple of (unintentional) hits in the mouth during jiujitsu lessons. So yeah, it's quite useful.
What about pants under the gi
Conor Condon Spats
