"Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) was reportedly booed out of a restaurant as protesters vented their frustration over the state’s red algae tide crisis.
Scott was making a campaign stop in Venice, Fla., when he was met with angry protesters outside of Mojo’s Real Cuban restaurant on Monday, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. The governor, who is term-limited under Florida's Constitution, is currently in a tight race against incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D) for Nelson's seat.
He entered the restaurant but only stayed about 10 minutes before he left to a booing crowd."

I’d boo him anywhere I saw him. Rick Scott is a criminal
Florida resident here! I will not be voting for him
America thanks you.
Same
I can't believe Rick Scott has managed to stay out of jail let alone stay in politics for so long.
Way to go Floridians! Get motivated for the environment! Blue wave!!!
Jason Reyes I can't find any references to back up your claim... Could you provide a link?
It’s time a Democrat to be governor of Florida
No thanks. We've seen how bad democrat states turn after years under them. Just look at Illinois, Michigan and California. Illegal immigration and homelessness rates so bad people are crapping in the streets. People are literally leaving a coastal state with perfect weather to move to a red state. That says A LOT.
I'm in Florida. Rick Scott has made very poor decisions. What do you expect? Duh!
Boo😏
When will Americans wake up and stop electing the GOP for ANYTHING?
I remember the one video of Rick Scott walking into a random Starbucks to glad hand the "regular" folk. One woman in there started cussing him out and rattled off his lies and criminal acts to the point where he walked right out and drove away.
GET HIM OUT OF OFFICE. TIME FOR US TO START STICKING TOGETER. GET HIM OUT OF THERE DON'T LET HIM MOVE ANY FURTHER. HE IS DONE!!!
I'm really glad that citizens are taking this kind of action against their representatives. For too long they've been unchecked and unaccountable. They represent YOU and YOU hold the power. Keep the momentum going.
I live in Florida and happy they done this. I had no idea this was going on.
@@Mont3000 these protests are the only way to get things done. I hope it gets sorted for you. It's shameful your governor did not address the problem sooner. He now knows how wrong he was.
I live in Florida. Let me tell you, this state is seriously fucked up.
I'm here, too.
And I've NEVER seen the water as bad as it is now, in my 34 years of living here.
Yeah i know i live here too
Tal Moore yes it is. You should move. I suggest California or New York State.
Marduk of Nexus who controls the dams and regulates the water flow in Florida?
I’m a Floridian, and I approve this message. (Bahahahaha!! 😂😂😂)
BLUE WAVE is on its way!!!!!🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
This must be the red tide that trump and republicans were saying was coming! Wow they actually said a true statement 😳
Andrew Gillum let’s bring it home.
Scott is running for the Senate. De Santis is Gillum's opponent.
MaGarther
Gillum will work to fix the problems left behind by Sssssnakeman but DeSantis probably won't.
"Red Tide Rick" sounds like a pirate and I find that somewhat appropriate.
People with any sense DON'T VOTE ANY REPUBLICAN IN OFFICE.
This is one of your best videos. Everyone in Florida needs to see this.
Reminds me of the Ted Cruz fundraiser were Ted Cruz got booed at his own fundraiser.
Finally. Florida is waking up to who this creep really is.
I live in Florida and can't stand Rick Scott. He gives me the creeps. I certainly won't vote for him.
He gave Florida green water. Vote Blue if you want THAT gone.

So you are on of those 'what I'm seeing and what I'm hearing is not real' people. And stop flirting, at your age, you shouldn't strain yourself like that.
"Red Tide Rick" gets boo'd. yay
As somebody who actually lives in Florida I thought Jeb Bush was the worst thing that’s ever happened. And then comes along Rick Scott.
There might be a pattern here.😁
make him drink the red tide water!
Florida could be a nice place. Years of poor planning and republican governing has turned the state into a mess.
@beatthisroot it used to be when I was a kid, parrots and iguanas were every where, snapping turtles, minnows in every creek, of all colors.
I mean I used to love this place. Now it's barely recognizable from when I was a kid.
There was also a huge intentional discharge of polluted water from Lake Okeechobee into the Gulf - right where the bloom was.
Are there any politicians left that aren't blatantly self serving?
Survey says....nope!
Rick Scott has been a terrible Governor, why would we want him as a senator? I guess he will have to get a real job in November.
Don't boo vote.
Do both
The restaurant should have given this man a nice bowl of red tide soup.
If it takes a Rick Scott running for The Senate to wake people up to what's happening in our Democracy so be it. I love that people are more involved in standing up for what they believe in. Having Donald Trump in OUR OVAL OFFICE sure woke me up!! KEEP FIGHTING AMERICA!!!
But Why?? Why did he cut funding for all of these programs... doesn't he have to live on this earth too???
Stupidity and greed. That's why.
Brandi Richardson: apparently he gave "yuge" tax cuts to the "donor class", the 1% who help put him in office. In order to pay for tax cuts to billionaires & favors to agribusiness, he cuts services for the things that are important to the rest of Floridians. He's just following the Trump playbook. It's all about the money.
I love this!!This is the best news I have seen. I am so happy to see that people got out and protested right in the face of incompetent leaders. I am sorry for the issue it is presenting problems for the Floridians.
That footage of him in that John Oliver segment denying that man his freedom made my blood boil. He deserves everything coming his way I hope he never has a moment of peace in public ever again.
Saw that on John Oliver right?

I love the one guy obnoxiously blowing a whistle
Most clever guy in the crowd. 😂
Probably an ANTIFA guy. Blowing loud whistles in someone's ear will damage hearing. So basically that's a nice little loophole to where you're assaulting someone without actually touching them.
It's also done to shut down opposition. Which is pathetic. If you're so sure you're right you're just going to let them keep talking and ignore them. Like we do with flat earthers. If people are going so far out of their way to ban people, censor comments, get them booted off the internet, yelling at them with loud speakers and flat out using violence ultimately just prove their ideas are weak and they'd fold up like a cheap lawn chair against basic logic. PS: It's mostly liberals doing that :P
MaGarthur 😂😂😂😂 it was hilarious
They ALL need to be booooooed!! I am SICK of all of them! WE the people need to come together! Why can't people see what is happening! Prices for food and gas and everything else keeps rising and minimum wage will not budge. People cannot pay their bills after working 60 hours a week! It's not fair!
Pine Lane everything you said is so true I feel for the people who have to work for low wages but this is how revolutions start people get tired and fed up then the change will happen
What do conservatives "conserve"? Never understood that, must be an insider joke.
alex seioo their own wealth
If you're a Florida voter, please check to see if you're still on the voting roll. A massive amount of voters have been kicked off. If you wait until the election, they will give you a provisional ballot, which will never be counted. Please check before.
Why is that? Who has been kicking them off the rolls & is that even legal???
I believe in a few States such as Florida, if you are registered but have not gone to the polls and voted in the last 3 years, they are removing people from the voter rolls. Their excuse is because it requires too many resources to maintain voter rolls for people who arn't voting.
@@shwt121 Try to watch "The best democracy money can buy" with Greg Palast.
Yep 8 states are kicking voters off the voting rolls and it is being pushed by the Republicans
Rick Scott and his proponents should have to swim in their water.
''Water''
Even though I'm a registered Republican in the great state of Florida, there's no way that I am ever going to vote for Rick Scott!
Between all those brave souls who liberated Iraq and the lack of leadership to common sense gun control... go GOP lemming.
I'm a Floridian, dumbfounded that Scott (aka Voldemort) was ever elected for anything! Bill Nelson for Senate!
*It is Really Sad that there is Very little mention of the Fish and Wildlife that are Dying by the thousands and some cases Millions, along the coastline..Money Could have fixed the problem, Before it started.. Ole Ricky made sure that wasn't going to happen, now it will take Years to repair that damage, IF it can be repaired!! Money may Not fix it now..*
Climate change deniers ought to be banished to a tiny island a foot above sea level.
What??? This is Florida right? I thought they love these types of people. Especially as their leaders......
Wait. He was thinking he was going to get cheered????? Delusional!
Republican 101, privatize the gains, socialize the losses. pretend you solved the problem and blame everyone else within your line of sight.
Watching that footage made me choke up a little. Guess I'm just so proud of people standing up for themselves. Enough is enough!
Android is #1 Oh you are so sad, so pathetic.
he does not care he is out of office soon.
Well, he still caused a mess, so one way or another, it's his responsibility, and since he doesn't seem to want to give a damn about it, I say we ought to let the septic truck drivers who have to do all the work back their trucks up to the front door of his private residence and let 'er rip.
Republican politicians keeps destroying America but yet American voters keep voting for them to stay in power.
Explain the logic for me.
The logic is,"Its all about the money"!
It's the great brain washing by FARTZ NEWZ and right wing radio media.
Because Deploratard...
Just make sure you guys vote blue. Those racists deported my boy's for having felonies!! We're bringing all the Juaritos back Cali to Tejas. Puro Gangster Disciples 4X4 Inzane Devils Y Varrio Centre Villa controlamos todo

Red tide ain't no joke. You can barely breathe when it's in the water
Am I the only one who remembers that rick Scott embezzled millions from the hospitals he ran before he became governor? Cause people should have been protesting him then to.
joshua rogers Yes but they didn’t care because the only people who vote are almost entirely the most gullible of all humans or the most stupid
people are stupid
red tide Rick... love it
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy
they are also plagued with thick algae that is like a huge slime that is running in all the waterways of florida.
Somebody should show up to a Rick Scott event with a septic truck and pull a Stone Cold Steve Austin on him.
I'm booing Rick Scott from Illinois!
Rick Scott for prison!
And the disgusting thing is that this type of deregulation is happening at the national level under this horrible administration.
That's why he wants in inthe Senate. More and greater chances to screw Floridians on a larger scale and the rest of the USA, too.
Floridians, do yourselves a huge favor: Vote, on November 6, 2018, For Progressives in your state!!
Blue collar, then vote for a third party to show you actually care about how your state is being run. Opting out of the election just gives these sell out politicians free reign to do whatever they want. Seriously, what do you hope to accomplish by doing literally nothing?
Even worse is the fact that Scott is running TV ads blaming Bill Nelson for red tide saying Scott would fix it....
I find it MIND BOGGLING how these bastards LIE and blame others! I HOPE Nelson is using Scott's Record to SHOW WHO IS RESPONSIBLE! Don't talk, just SHOW his record in his ad's! It's the same thing reTHUGS do when a Democrat becomes President! Blame the Democrat's OBSTRUCT EVERYTHING the Democratic President attempts to do for the American People, and BLAME THEM!
What pisses me off about Democrat's once they have the White House, they do NOT USE THE MEDIA as the LYING Republicans do! This is where Obama screwed up MAJOR TIME! THANK YOU FLORIDA RESIDENTS FOR BOOING HIM & MAKING HIM RUN!
It's really bad actually I've seen the dead sea life on the beach on my walks and I could not believe how many for at least a mile or two. I stopped and looked and it was not normal at all. Rick it's to little too late for fake smiles and baby hugs. 🐠🐟🐬🐳 Go fish!
I'd love to boo my governor out of somewhere but he never leaves his mansion

That red ride is killing their tourist industry and thus many small businesses. Not to mention, it is killing so much wildlife.
What is up with the GOP and keeping water clean. People in Florida don't like clean water or something. Just Crazy.
Truth Hurts Especially a State that is so about WATER!!
This guy doesn't deserve to be reelected after Florida's misfortune.
Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you TYT.
I guess trickle-down does work, except it's toxic algae.
haha, not funny but funnily ironic
Red tide Rick is at again.
It's too late to get the old florida back. It has already been destroyed. Now it's a matter of what can be salvaged.
The old Florida got flooded with the elderly from Northern States who mostly ride with the GOP and its outdated & divisive politics.
Damn that was all grannys and they were loud and fantastic! Every protest needs grannys
Grannies, stay in school dummy.
Tax cuts are bullshit. Anyone who thinks otherwise, think about it. Without taxes, how are we supposed to pay for infrastructure, law enforcement that isnt corrupt, help for the needy etc.? To give tax cuts is a terrible idea. In fact, the only ones who truly benefit from a tax cut are the wealthy. It may give you $20-$30 on your paycheck but, you end up paying much more than that to repair your car if you hit a pothole or you cant goto the beach because of red tide. Just think about what the taxes are for before you complain and elect for lower taxes. They are necessary.
Please Floridians this is why you need to vote for Gillum and Nelson for 2018 midterms.
Most definitely.
Go ahead people keep voting for republicans if you want all these things to continue.
Rick Synder
Rick Scott
The Ricks really hate clean water don’t they
Amen
What tyt didn't know is that 2 years ago we voted to preserve the Everglades and put more money into saving our watersheds. He decided against what the people of Florida voted for!!!!!!!!
It wasn't in our state budget he said.
He also gave Big Sugar subsidies and rented out state parks to beef. That would have helped Stave off some of the red tide
My beautiful hometown of Sarasota is getting hit hard. It really is a shame what's happening to the beaches there. Hope the idiots living there wake up about Rick Scott finally.
Red Tide Rick
The dumping of Lake Okeechobee has ruined our waters.
The people are showing there views so he should vote that way not the way the company's have payed him to vote
It astounds me that a guy who lived through the 60s and 70s and was fully aware of the environmental and pollution problems then would pass legislation that would allow us to regress into that miasma. I guess we'll just have to see things like Lake Erie burning again before we go 'uh-oh' all over again.
Trump lived through the 1960s and 1970s just like Rick Scott..... Plus the early 1970s is when Deep Purple brought us Smoke On the Water XD
it makes me so happy when i see protests
It's 90% fertilizer because they rerouted natural waters that should have emptied into the Everglades. Going through orange groves, etc., it picked up the fertilizer and pesticides and empties into the Atlantic and gulf.
The current attorney general she spends like one month out of every year at Mar-A-Lago since she's been elected.
@Blue collar Gold pockets You said it!!!
"Red Tide Rick" ... it's Gonna Really Stick !!!
Shawn Vanden Red Tide Rick can eat a big fat......

With any luck Florida will be under water in 30 years
This is what happens when you get a high concentration wealthy elderly in one place.
The Floridians voted him in. Did they not do their research on the guy? They also voted Trump in office. I think they need a new voting strategy because the old way's not working.
Yeah I live in Florida (not born here though lol) and can say that majority of people here are slow 😳🤪 look at the school ranking with all states. They are slow.
Red Tide Rick meet the Blue Wave.
Nice 👌
👏👏👏
I’m in ft Myers. My buddy went out last weekend said 30miles our dead fish, sea turtles and dolphins. Didn’t hit blue water till 40miles.
The Caloosahatchee river still has the doc green sludge running in it and backing up in peoples canals.
This has been going on since since last October with the red tide but really kicked in in June.
Scott hasn’t really done anything. He declared a state of emergency for some counties but that doesn’t make up for the tons of money local business have lost, the destruction of the ecosystem, and the down value of the local real estate, because who’s want to move to a sewer?
Worthless governor with no conscious for what’s right on multiple levels.
If you folks actually want to help get something done contact captains for clean waters, they seem to be the only ones really trying to kick the ass of federal and state government to get this mess fixed.
✌️
Jon Gregory Can we throw all the republicans in the Red Tide and make them stay there for awhile?? At least a few hours, maybe their family members can join them as they don't seem to care about the impact on the environment, sea life, health issues and businesses.
Vivian Malloy they will care when it hits em where it hurts, which is they’re wallets.
millions of fish have died not thousands
I was recently on holiday in Florida (last month) as we live in Europe. We had some boat trips planned to the Gulf coast but cancelled them upon hearing from the locals of the red tide plague. Per trip we would most likely have spent about $500 and we had 2 trips planned.
Really Ironic if a red tide induces a blue tsunami
This needs to be how every politician that isn't leading the response to Climate Change is treated.
Maybe they could have served him Red Algae Salad??
I won't be surprised if they pass a law forbiding all Florida citizens to take a crap...
Have you been to a beach on Florida lately? Wall to wall dead fish. I won't be able to fish there this winter because all the fish are dead. Thanks deregulation. It really helped our economy.
winesap2 Did you get what I wrote ? I was showing How corrupt and incompetent Florida lawmakers are.
Sounds like you are against regulations.
Ironic that Florida will probably be hurt the most by rising sea levels.
Oh my, I think by the time the water rises to my home it will be 2100
I am a born and raised Floridian..From what I've been told my whole life is .. Okeechobee lake(where they release the water into our estuaries, ect.)and where the red tide, blue/green algae originates USED TO flow straight south, through the city of Belle Glade, before the city was built for "big sugar"(sugar cane) and continued right to the "Everglades " where it would be naturally Filtered..They(Army core of engineers) dammed up Lake "O" and built 2 canals one east through "Martin co." And one west towards "Tampa"..So what this all means is they altered the flow and process and there now is "no" filter for the algae filled water and it flows right into our "Indian River Lagoon " ect..Its all in the name of progress and money...Its heartbreaking..S.O.W. "Save our Waters"
Oh boy can I talk about this one. I actually sold my house and left Florida because of the septic tank thing. I had a septic tank and lift station. My mother put it on when she owned the house in the 80s. Now I inherited the house in 2002. It was in a wonderful but old neighborhood not far from Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. Developers were hot to trot to get that whole swath of land and were trying to buy everybody out. (This is also around the time they swindled the lady on The Point of Rocks via eminent domain and stole her property, put up a beach gazebo and put her in a mental institution or something.) I lived there for a few years and around the time Rick Scott got elected I got a notice. Due to environmental concerns they were looking at septic tanks. I'm environmentally conscious so I didn't really have a problem with this on principle. But they didn't say they wanted to come and inspect my septic tank. What they told me was it they were putting in a city water line on my street and there's going to be a several thousand dollar fee for this. It was going to be added to my property taxes (Already a few thousand a year) as a lien. Furthermore it is going to be several more thousand of dollars to hook up from their city pipes to my house. I knew that I was never going to be able to afford it because I was living with a plumber at the time and they told me that my overall cost was going to be somewhere around $11,000 out of pocket within a year or two. I was working minimum wage living paycheck-to-paycheck to maintain that house and basic living expenses. There was no way I was going to be able to do it. I had to sell a beautiful house not far from Siesta Key for $25,000 to avoid losing it entirely.
I completely support the idea of cracking down on environmental concerns, I just wanted to bring this up to mention the fact that these ideas are being used to run poor people out of their house so they can gentrify the nicer areas in Florida. They are not genuine in most cases. And you can tell that by the way that they suddenly fall by the wayside.
I'd also like to mention that the septic tanks are not usually owned by people with money. Most people with money have city water. They're within the city limits and they have city water. They're using the septic tank thing as a way to run poor people out of areas that they want to develop. Once again, I'm not saying that I'm opposed to the idea of doing whatever it takes to make the area more environmentally sound. I just want you to understand that their motivation for doing it when they do decide to do it is not for the planet. It's for development. They put a lien on your property and if you can't pay it the city takes your property, and then they sell it to developers to put more lucrative properties in there.
When I left Sarasota the modus operandi was to get all of the low income people out of residence in Sarasota and bus them in for low-wage jobs from Bradenton. Not from what I hear from my friends back home they're doing the same thing to Bradenton and pushing the low income people even farther out. I'm not there anymore so I can't give you any details but it doesn't surprise me at all.
And if you want to take it even a step further into Alex Jones conspiracy theory type conjecture I also point out that the pain clinics that would give away Oxycontin prescriptions to just about anybody about 10 years ago were always situated in the same areas where there were low income people that still owned property. And right next to the pain clinics would always be a Payday lender. So do with that what you will.
You guys should do your homework what you discuss is part of the problem but look into the cattle ranchers dumping their waste and run off into Lake Okeechobee which drains to the east and west coast of Florida Lake Okeechobee is a big open sore also the waist and pesticide runoff from the big sugar cane plantation south of Lake Okeechobee Now drain into the lake check it out it's Big Industry not individual septic systems that are causing the problem
