your assessment on the Sony A80J and A80K didn't age well... The A80K is noticeably brighter because they are using the new EVO panel. Also the 77inch A80K is cheaper than the 77in A80J....

First, great job. Love your presentation style, and speed of conveying information. I have to replace my Sony XBR-65x900A because of lines on the screen (seems that Sony has a design defect that they only extended the warranty for Japanese customers on ... sigh). I'm looking at the 2021 65" A80J vs. the newly announced 2022 65" A80K ... and like you, was disappointed to see that they weren't on display at CES (was baffled when I walked into their booth). You pretty definitively say that you don't see much difference between the A80J vs. A80K. After hours of looking for information, it appears to me that the A80K *might* have better anti-glare (seems the 65" A80J diffused glare is counterproductive), up to 20% brighter screen on A80K by using the WBE OLED from LG instead of the WBC, better sounds (3 screen actuators giving you more of a center channel with stereo compared to two actuators), and better longevity/power consumption because of the WBE OLED. Were you able to see or did you hear about these differences specifically on the 65" A80J vs. A80K? It's not as much about the extra $300 as it is waiting the extra 3 months. :)

Two questions for FOMO. Firstly, you told us that A80K would be too minor an upgrade for us to buy that instead of a discounted A80J. However, are you referring to 77A80J here with the glossy screen an an EVO panel? Would a 65A80K make more sense than a 65A80J with the semi-gloss screen and the older, non-EVO panel? Secondly, what would be your prediction regarding X95K vs A80J/K? Could X95K be so close to the Sony OLED that it would make more sense, especially since you wouldn't have to worry about burn-in or image retention?

Now I don’t feel the need to upgrade my tv plus whole signal path chain because I was finally able to procure an x box series x. 4K 60 is fine , which is good because I like my avr, which is hdmi 2.0, and I don’t need a new tv just for 4K 120, when it isn’t able to be consistently put out by the new consoles anyway. If you have a PS5 and want to play Ratchet & Clank at the full 4k40 mode, you need a 4k120 display. I think more game developers also for the Series X will look at offering a full 4k40 mode in the future. I am really not sure though if Sony properly developed the x95k (I’m talking with 100’s of zones, not just basically taking a regular lcd tv zone count, and pasting that with mini leds, as the light source… if they do that, I will 100% skip the tv, this year, regardless of them releasing their k type tv, which I find kinda funny since I own the Samsung Ks8500 at the moment, I will probably buy one of those depending on its cost, which will figure out the size, I will buy, if Sony actually gets VRR and it properly works with an Xbox… For I only want to spend about 4k-8k, for a new tv, this year…

Great channel and information provided. I am looking to purchase a 40/42/43 inch TV to be located above the refrigerator in our kitchen. The TV will be used for watching TV shows/TV movies/sports during the day (moderately sunny room) and at night (usually with lower lighting on). It will not have a DVD or computer attached. The TV will and have 25 degree vertical and up to 35 degree horizontal viewing angles. I believe an IPS or OLED panel would work best here, but am open to a VA panel. It would be appreciated if you could suggest a TV that would best fit our application. Thank you.

The 42" LG C2 will give you the best viewing angles from all points in the kitchen but the Samsung 43" QN90B will be brighter and have better anti-glare. I'd go with the QN90B due to the anti-glare and brightness

I'm willing to spend a bit, but not OLED budget, plus I can't control my room lighting very well so the lower end OLED is not for me. No matter about the sound quality either. Some lower end hi-fi powered bookshelf speakers and a sub will do the trick. The TV already has virtual surround sound. Why pay for it again getting a soundbar with their lesser proficiency drivers for the same price?
