Did you play revengeance difficulty? Mastiffs are added to almost half of all battles, or replace normal enemies. Example: first lab fight in Mexico, normally 4 regular cyborgs-->hope you like fighting 4 mastiffs.
But ngl, that swift slash was a nice reaction to that. Like, Raiden being a cyborg probably has a better reaction time (with his new body) than the average person, so it makes sense for him to do the follow up. But right after that window, Sam does a counter slash. That and the fact that HE DEFLECTED BULLETS without any augment other than his arm and suit shows his quick reaction time.

I disagree. Snake is a single syllable word as Raiden is two. The reason why this is important is because of vowel extensions and pronunciation. Raiden is a longer word and isn't as fast to say as snake, you have a small pause in saying the name to transition from saying Rai to Den, Snake doesn't have the same pause or transition within the word, allowing it to be said faster and a bit more dramatically with ease. Yes you can say Raiden dramatically, but in order to do so you need to extend the vowels in each syllable, which they don't really do, it honestly sounds awkward, Snake has only one real vowel to extend, so it's hard to not be dramatic by shouting SNAAAAAAAAKE at the top of your lungs. Maybe I'm a fan of Snakes.
