It's genius that these phones always release 6 months from each other so they can't be truly compared. Each release is usually better than the competitor
Not a bad idea! But I do feel that there is still quite a bit of work that has to be done, like improvements on distortion. If not, the comparison between the 2 phones ultrawide camera will be a bit lackluster
Since you kept referencing the iPhone's 48MP camera, it probably would have made sense to compare it to the Samsung's 50MP mode rather than the 200MP mode. The 50MP mode performs a lot better than the 200MP mode in terms of things like processing time, and I would have been genuinely curious to see how they stack up for daylight photography when MPs are more comparable.
He seems bias honestly..always rating iphone better in most category while in actual sense its not also whenever samsung seems to be far superior to that category he declares a tie
As a S23 ultra user, I have to say that iPhone has done some good changes to the camera! Really curious to see what samsung is gonna come up with the s24 ultra
As a life long iPhone used (almost switch to Android around 2016 after been so tired of the 6, 6s and 7 form factor) I salute Samsung's progressions throughout the years. The better Samsung gets, the better my iPhone will become.
As an S23U user. Looking at the features and advancements of the iPhone 15, it seems predictable that the Samsung S24 will also follow Apple path. However, this isn't a negative development, as long as the design remains appealing, they can focus on hardware and software feature enhancements. The competition between Samsung and iPhone certainly benefits us as users

As much as improvements have been made to camera hardware and software, at the end of the day a lot of consumers will still prefer the results from one brand over the other. I believe it's more of a stylistic choice, and it also boils down to the consumer's priorities regarding photography.
Just chiming in to say that 200mpx (103mpx for me on the S22U) has its uses not just for print photography, I visit sites for work frequently, and many times I am looking for a detail I didn't think I needed until later, but managed to find it from zooming in on the hi res shot.
200mp is GIMMICK , i tested in indoor and low light 200mp mode vs 50mp mode on x90 pro+ with 1 inch sensor and the lower the light the more details vivo has over samsung, mp is useless on such a small sensor as the one from samsung.
@@Chopper153 good luck with that, is easier for samsung to bump useless mp on paper than actual do improvements since most average joe will fall for specs on a paper. Samsung became the apple of androids when huawei went down, expect them to milk you for another 5 years until 1 inch sensor.
I'm impressed. The biggest improvement I observed is in the iPhone's noise reduction, which kinda took em years to finally do something about it. I'm curious now whether the upcoming Pixel 8 series is gonna slacken on their noise reduction as well and let the iPhone beat the Pixel in cleaner low light photos, for the first time. Can't wait for that comparison.
After years and years and years Android phones still take mostly grainy videos. It's an issue still not fixed so what is taking Google and Samsung so long?
@@lamar310my guess would be no photonic engine. If I remember correctly only the iPhone Chips have a specific segment inside of them that is dedicated to taking photos and videos. That's why I think photos take in general more to process on Android. It's interesting why they don't build one as well or my guess is completely wrong and it's something else.
It's all about software side improvement which only Apple can do because they are the only one who develops the chips and OS. In Android side Chips and OS doesn't come from one company. So there is always some lacking. But this difference will keep decreasing as it is improving day by day.@@lamar310
I’m still in awe at the sheer fact that a camera smaller than a palm of a hand can give such a precise and detailed photo, yes most proper cameras are much better, but the fact that such a small camera fit inside a phone not made just for photos (although one of the main features is obviously the camera), it’s definitely not the only thing built into these pretty small phones. And the camera itself for its size, is absolutely astonishing for me
That’s because the camera hardware in itself alone doesn’t provide the excellent outcome but rather the software optimisation processing the information received
@@meyasinmComputational photography has come a long way. I always wondered why nobody offers a full frame camera with this kind of software. This software coupled with a large sensor, same decent glass and eye-AF would surely deliver awesome results. The market for this camera would probably be rather small though.
@@cmdrratzass7305 im not an expert in this field but it could surely be based on the fact that iphone and samsung as a smartphone manufacture already has 10x more expertise in the software department than a hardware focused company like sony. Yes camera manufactures could learn a lot from this but the gap b/w smarphone software and camera software is waay to far right now.. Also the fact that apple/samsung puts so much money into software and chipset(etc) that sony or any other manufacture cannot even dream of outright copying them.
@@cmdrratzass7305yeah it would be small as photographers on their own add all the effects to get the results the client wants. It could be done with AI but that's gonna need way too much for all the variations of effects there are.
Like so many things I love how complex the comparisons really are. Really does come down to what people want to do with it. That night mode stuff is crazy these days though, both camps are scary good.
So I do a lot of photography with both my 23 ultra and my pixel 7 pro, haven't gotten my hands on a 15 pro max to be able to compare myself yet, but for my uses (mostly vehicle photography and night sky shots) the s23 ultra has been the best for me, night sky shots I will say the pixel takes the lead on, but the s23 is pretty damn close. But having that 3x lens is perfect, as it is the best zoom to get pictures of cars, without taking any quality hit. I also do some nature photography, and the 200mp camera has helped out a lot with that, the amount of detail is amazing, and has wonderful end results, but mostly only if it is close, within 3-5 feet, then it starts to not be as good
@dt3688 on what basis? I can agree they they do have *some* better qualities, but samsung also has some better qualities. It really goes down to user preference, and I prefer Samsung
Nice Comparison. I find it interesting that you've done comparisons for 24mp vs 12mp and 48mp vs 200mp and completely skipped the 50MP mode on the Samsung. The S23 Ultra takes pretty good daytime picks at 50MP which are often better than default 12mp picks. i.e. less compression or jagged edges from over sharping. The 50MP photos are also better than the 200MP photos Samsung should take apples lead and make 50mp the default resolution. I would have liked to see comparisons between 24MP vs 50MP and 48MP vs 50MP. Oh, and we forget that HEIF format is not widely supported on non Apple devices and require exporting as JPG.
Would have been interested in seeing Samsungs 50mp option included in this comparison too. Ultimately though I think these camera comparisons are becoming less and less relevant. They are both more than enough for 90% of users and the day to day shooting they'll do. And if you're someone who's actually pixel peeping and looking at colour correction etc., then you're probably not shooting auto mode anyway and better of shooting manual/RAW and editing colour/light yourself.
@@kxngoxar6584 i am not mad for apple to win since they have more experience with their camera's and can make them better and have modes turn on automatically using smart AI inside their camera's. Samsung on the other hand focussed more on improving what they lacked mostly with their older phones, now they have one of the largest zoom features of any smartphone, lots of modes and features to adjust your pictures how you want, even changing them after you taken the shot to adjust any details the camera might taken in a bad light or blurring out anything, adding features of 1 pictures to another and so on. Just like mr boss says, Samsung has tons of features and hard to cover them all, it is also hard to use them with 1 hand since the S23 ultra is a very large phone. Now what camera is best depends on you as the user if you like to have direct nice pictures and easy to change features with the Iphone or are you more into using alot of features with 2 hands, adjusting your shots constantly and knowing what you take when to put the right effects on your shots with the S23 ultra? i myself got the S23 and i haven't regretted getting him at all, pictures and videos are the best for my liking, the zoom helps alot to look at objects far away and taking them without disturbing anything. it is true that the S23 looks for brightness and warm colors at all times but i don't mind to adjust my pictures and edit to my liking afterwards. Apple has smart AI build in for years now and Samsung is missing some of those features but it might come in the next S series or even the K series what will be focussed on camera mostly

the S23U's camera improved dramatically with the August update. I hope the S23U used here had that update otherwise it was trying to compete with one hand tied behind it's back
Well that's embarrassing. A lot of the reason the 15 promax won this (barely) was because of the zoomed in clarity being a bit better, but the august update on the S23U dramatically improved this.
Why you didn't mention S23U microphone zoom that follows automatically video zoom? Its impressive. I was impressed of how it picked up a voice from people 20m away from me
I believe iPhones also have it! iPhone 11 and up have the microphone zoom, Apple called it "Audio Zoom." He probably didn't mention it because it's good in both?
I'm pretty sure iPhones also have that, but attemping to mention something one phone may or may not have doesn't make a fair comparison, for example Apple has now implemented it's new voice isolation feature or wide spectrum voice feature which is very impressive, but Samsung I don't think has that.
I bought one of those in1992 in Okinawa. Still have it & play it all the time. That neck is speedy. Great to pick up & shred on that after playing something else for a while.
I partially agree with this video. I must say that the iPhone never underperforms as heavily in some categories than the Galaxy, but Galaxy's overall colour palette and my needs as a consumer (being that I take many portrait mode photos and photos in good lightning; mostly during daytime) I will still probably be pick the Galaxy. Maybe not the S23 Ultra, but Samsung's next phone!
For me, the biggest thing about 15 pro lineup is that it has a lot of things in normal mode. 14 pro can also take Live Photos, high res photos and portraits, but not at the same time. With 15 pro, you get all three with just one shutter press in normal mode
For this comparison to be fair, the S23U"s software should have been updated, the last couple of software updates have considerably improved photo quality. You can tell the phone's on an older software because in Portrait & photo mode it doesn't have a shortcut to 2X zoom, which is present on current software and takes a crop from the 200Mpx sensor.

For a second I was afraid that you're going to completely skip the higher resolution mode on S23U and I was nearly right. Nearly, because you've only mentioned about the 200MP mode when in reality there's also a 50MP mode which is superior (in my opinion as a user) to both standard 12MP and the high-res 200MP. It's my default mode for daytime pictures because of the added detail when compared to 12MP mode. It still takes a few seconds for the phone to process the picture but IMO 50MP mode is the perfect balance between quality of pictures, size of sized image and time this phone needs to process the image before it's accessible. I believe that comparing standard 24MP mode on iPhone to 50MP mode on Samsung could slightly change the result and overall comparison.

Interesting comparison, it would be even more interesting and fair if the Samsung S23 Ultra was in the latest firmware, and it's not because yours is missing the 2x toggle button in portrait mode. A feature that was available even before the latest updates. Great job, it could be.

It won't be significantly better. The tech jump in 5 years will be significantly smaller than the tech jump from 5 years ago. You can only improve so much and these days it's rather incremental. The next big advancement in phone tech will likely be a significantly longer lasting battery. Hey Arun, worth pointing out that you're running an outdated version of one ui on the S23U. The new updates on Camera Assistant which includes the higher quality 2x magnification and further camera improvements.
Although the comparison was pretty detailed, I feel like the last point should have gone to Samsung, also you didn't test 5x or 10x zoom in daylight, a lot of Samsung users use this feature in day and it's pretty helpful, I feel Samsung would have got that point. All in all its nearly a draw with a slight edge to Apple just because of almost no shutter lag, and better implementation of portrait mode after taking the shot(it's been there in Samsung for atleast 1 year now)

I feel like Samsung has been slacking a bit when it comes to their cameras relative to Apple and other Android devices, like the Pixel. I record RAW video on my Samsung and God even 1080p quality looks so much better than smasungs app in 4k or even iPhones 4k. Stabilization is lost but im not running or moving much. Having ran the 23ultra since upgrading from the S22ultra ( Samsung was giving stupidly good deals) there is a big upgrade from the S22ultra however to Apples cameras it seems to be a little more consistent. The 200mp quad Bayer design is definitely amazing and does work well on the s23Ultra + snapdragon 8 gen2 ( 108mp on snapdragon 8 gen1 was hot garbage) however because it is high resolution not as bright and needs to average scenario to quad Bayer into 16mp subtleties get machines over along with noise reduction since higher mp will show it more. While I personally probably won't go to iPhone since they don't have a dedicated file manger the camera system is very simple and having a wider aperture and greater dynamic range allows for general smoothness and better control of subtitles. I will say in 2-3 model generation either manufacturer will probably get BSI sensor and will drop resolution towards the 60mp standard. Samsungs approach is pleasantly brilliant but there is too much overhead in a nonstandard 200mp based quad Bayer design(good packaging though)
16:51 So the company that makes the ecoshock also provides the competitor's sample? That doesn't make any sense, they can just give an extra bouncy material and print "competitor" on it.
One of the things that I came to realize with my brand new fold 5 is that Samsung has cleaned up the camera a lot but also kind of made things worse. First, the fold 5s camera are not as good as the s23 ultra which is frustrating when the phone is far more expensive. Second, I found that they moved so many settings that I either can't find them or they've been removed. I remember you used to be able to tell the phone what aspect ratio, what frame rate turn beauty mode on ir off and what resolution you wanted photos and video to be taken at. I dont want to have to use pro mode everytime I take a picture. I think Samsung (in the s lineup) has better hardware but they just don't take the time to work on their software and make them as good as the can/should be...
I think the fold should have the same cameras as the s23 ultra. The flip I can see maybe the same at the s23 plus because it's more compact but the fold would be more flagship type.
Watching your reviews is becoming my pre-phone purchase ritual📱💫 You've got the perfect blend of tech knowledge and entertainment. Keep rocking the tech world!!!!!!!
I still think that the s23 is the way to go because all of the photos and the videos look clearer and on the Samsung you can make the photos look even better but that is the same with the iPhone when changing the settings after shot. Also with the Samsung people are probably not too worried about the quality when you zoom up on a specific but it depends on what you are trying to take the photos of and vid.
I dont know if I have done something wrong but I compared a 15pm vs lg v60 and the lg shots were more detailed when cropped in all the way The 24mp option was on
Arun! You never mentioned the Samsung's 50MP mode. I use it all the time and I much prefer it to the 200MP. Also it would be cool if you collaborated with a photographer to get his/hers opinion using the pro modes on both phones.
if there wasn't a big difference between the 200mp mode and the iphones 48mp mode in terms of quality in optimal lighting, i doubt the 50mp would be better
@@searic3203 IMO the 50MP is better than the 200MP, especially when shooting handheld. That's why I brought it up, but maybe like you, Arun thought that the 200MP naturally is better. But it simply isn't
As usual a pretty detailed video, however I really don't understand how Arun awarded Portrait & Day Light to iPhone. The Portrait shots of S23U, that were shown in the video, were clearly better. iPhone might take it in 24MP but we don't usual zoom in our portrait images, so it really doesn't matter. Coming to the Daylight photos, i felt as if Arun was just searching for reasons to give to iPhone. He is constantly talking about 24MP images but didn't even mention 50MP mode in S23U , I mean giving the point just because it takes 24MP default is ridiculous. And also about 2X, you can have it in Samsung too! To be Honest, I am not surprised this going in iPhone's away after watching the previous video, Arun was too excited on the improvements I knew it was going to be bit biased when he announced camera comparison.
You must be joking... Reason is that iphone captures those 24mp shots much faster than samsung manages to do 12mp, what is more 24mp shots on the iphone still take up less storage than 12mp on samsung (same with the portraits). If anything it feels like he's giving Samsung some points just to make android fanboys happy, cinematic mode on iphone is worlds apart (anyone who knows how professional camera works will realise that iphone creates a proper depth map of the whole scene and gives different amount of blur to different parts, samsung basically registers the human and cuts everything else like some toy), another is the front camera where iphone clearly had more mature shots, even with audio it was a clear win for the iphone yet he didn't give an outright win...
Arun, you mentioned that cameras should be able to detect what mode it should be using and switch over, but this has already been a feature of samsungs for so long, for example, I haven't ever switched to food mode manually, it just does it on its own on the down-right corner from where you can also disable the mode it's selected if you find it to be unnecessary.
I wanna share my observation regarding the sound category. Since you mentioned concerts - the iPhone still takes way better and clear video sound at concerts compared to the Samsung s23 ultra. I spent my summer visiting a fair share of concerts in different locations and settings and I have iPhone 14 pro max and Samsung S23 Ultra. Shooting videos at these concerts made it very clear that iPhone is still better for this very narrow niche - video sound at concerts lol
@@IluminaelViaje to be honest the 10X optical zoom of the Samsung is quite good, the videos are good, vivid, not so much noise. Minus the not so good sound. On the iPhone when i lock the focus of the screen and adjust the exposure I also get very nice quality video plus the way better sound (even when zoomed in 9x digital zoom.)
@ 5:20 -> You can enable HEIF picture format on the samsung and thereby have have a reduction in file size of 75% as per my experience while retaining the same quality for the 200MP mode. -> You have a 50MP option in the samsung and hence it would have been more appropriate to take a photo with the 50MP mode of the samsung vs the 48MP of the iPhone for better comparison as the 200MP mode shines more on good light than in low light -> For the 24MP mode yea, I wish samsung could push an update giving us S23 Ultra users to take 24MP in default since they have a 200MP camera anyway, and the 50MP mode is fast enough alright that I doubt 24-25MP mode option on the S23 Ultra would be a problem. They already enabled enhanced 2X crop on the main sensor giving us 2X optical like zoom on the S23 Ultra which is indeed great. What more of that 24-25MP mode really. -> As for the graininess in low light video in S23 Ultra, this is something I noticed too as samsung always wants to show more of a dark image, hence what I do is just manually lower the exposure and the graininess is gone and that I have more a real life look in the video than in Auto. Now this is something I want compared really as each phone has their strengths and weaknesses, but something little bothering as that with slight changes is something I could trade for having a great all around camera really.
I totally agree, Samsung focuses way too much on specs and not software, I think HEIF is now a standard on all phones, recently they pushed 15s HEIF format to the 14s so both phones now takes 5mb 48mp so thats good. But I hope samsung pushes software.
I'm usually using 3x and 10x telephoto camera for photos, as I like the flattened perspective for architecture. I just truly hope that tests were made on clean lenses, cause at 2:35 you can see how smeared the Samsung lens was, which would hinder the results. And while iPhone has easy to use main camera mode, I do prefer having a lot of options to max out the photo I take. Also... for almost the same price you get a phone that has similar photo capabilities, but also the working stylus which doubles as shutter control, the optical 10x zoom AND additional Desktop mode when you plug the phone to the tv/monitor. So the choice is easy - don't overpay for your phone
I think you are being a bit biased tho, even me as an android user can tell you, that if you want the best camera it's definitely an win to the iPhone 15 pro max, desktop mode and 10x zoom are niche things that most times don't get used, 5x being good enough for most people, the stylus it's another niche'er (is that even a word ? xD) feature, even tho not as much, but if you really want a remote shutter, that exists for iPhone and you could always get that instead
@@PatalJuniorNope. iPhone and Samsung both get obliterated in blind camera elo by mkbhd. And here still both phone's cameras are comparable. iPhone even got destroyed by Asus phone in that

Man this seems like the life. Having fun while recording shots from phones. I’m looking forward to see what the s24 ultra is going to bring, then the 16 next year
The default 24mp on the iPhone is something I've wanted for a long time on my Samsung! Being able to crop in a picture afterwards is very useful. The 50mp would be the perfect candidate for that: you have a high-resolution shot that still benefits from pixel-binning. I'm glad that Apple finally innovates again (yes, i used that word...😮) , because now Samsung will be forced to make his high-resolution modes behave as a default mode. Although the S23 Ultra could do it (the Snapdragon should be good enough to do that kind of processing), I suppose it'll only be implemented on the S24 Ultra. In any case, competition will always be good for the consumer, so it's good to see Apple working a little harder.
@@PhoenixMinecraft4ever thank you! I just hope that Samsung offers something similar to the s23 ultra owners. Its advertising has relied a lot on the 200mp sensor (and the 50mp mode, that many expected to be the sweet spot) , and we end up taking most of our photos at a lower resolution than iPhone owners.
The s23 ultra can shoot in binned 12mp, binned 50mp and native 200mp modes so not only have samsung already done it they've done it with 3 choices to apples 2. You can also shoot in 200mp mode and then remaster the picture in the gallery app which outputs a 16mp image.
@typos1477 you're totally right, and i use those modes. I love them. I just hope that Samsung will make one of them available as a default mode (usable with portrait mode, with no extra processing time, like the 12mp, basically). That would be the next step. If Apple can do it... Samsung can.
I think you can’t go wrong with a Samsung S23 Ultra or an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both very well made phones. Same price range. I just depends whether you like iOS or Android. Personally I get very confused by Android because I’ve had an iPhone since 2009. But if you prefer Android this Samsung is a very good phone.
I had the opportunity to use the S23U for a couple months as I swapped from the 12 pro max to the S23, and recently swapped back to the 14 pro max, and now 15 pro max. Ignoring my terrible financial decisions, I was pretty impressed with both the iPhone and Samsung. What I loved about the Samsung over the iPhone was the manual modes for the camera. On the 50mp mode, I took some phenomenal photos of the night sky that absolutely beat the iPhone, and even at a chance against my own DSLR. Having full control over the camera was pretty neat. However, I wasn’t a fan of having to log into the phone to open proraw, especially when I’m camping, my phone is in and out of my pocket and usually slightly dirty hands. For me - an inconvenience. Not a bad camera! Just didn’t fully line up with what I needed. Back to the iPhone and I can appreciate how quickly and smoothly it works. I recently went camping and rode around in the sand and the action video was remarkably smooth but also crisp. They’re both fantastic. But the iPhone was better for me. If Apple would allow some third party apps to have full control of the camera, notably proraw 48mp with full iso and shutter control; that would satisfy everything I need.
Thank you so much for this! Just tried to compare them in store and this is a way better breakdown. I’ll be using it mostly for front facing video (vlogging) so using the 200mp photos would be lost on me. But it’s still a tough call.
3:45 you didn't mention about the fact that in Samsung you can switch between all lenses, while recording, in iPhone you have to turn it off and on, and this is rather important
Also i heard you cant switch to different lenses on 4k60fps on samsung. Not talking about zoom but about switching to the actual different lenses. Apparently only works on 4k30fps

It has been like 10 months since the launch of s23 ultra, even if the iphone 15 was ten times better it's ridiculous to switch from one phone to another in such a short span. What are you trying to prove? What is your aim in life if you take random mobile phones so seriously?
For me , the slight improvement in camera is not enough for to make me actually switch to iphone 15. I'll wait for s24 and i16. Especially because of the 200 mp camera. I only use the 200mp camea and portrait mode for phone photography. And storage doesn't concern me. I have the 1 tb variant 😊😊
Using only 200mp mode is worse in some cases, so please consider this, unless you already do, but if you want improvement on 200mp then you'll need much much stronger chips and larger sensors. Normal cameras will always be superior due to their sensor size so consider them too.
@@itsyaboishiba maybe but the iphone 15 isn't exciting enough for me to buy it. I mean i also have a 14 pro max here. It's not just the camera. I'm not really a photography guy. Just casual photos.
Not really - the samsung was not using the latest software and he failed to even mention the 50mp mode, pretty slack to be honest and not up to his usual standard sadly.

This is once again an extremely good comparison video. And you can't imagine how much I appreciate the "concert test" as I found phones still struggle a lot with due to low brightness, fog, quick movements and changes in lighting or monochromatic light. Samsung especially struggles with blue LED light for some reason. But on my last concerts I noticed that my S22 Ultra (yes S22 not S23) still took noticably better videos at concerts than my friend got with his iPhone 14 Pro. This surprised both of us a lot since in most camera tests on UA-cam it looks like Samsung falls behind in video quality. But now with the 15 Pro it seems like Apple finally catched up. Can't wait to test it out myself with real concerts.
to be honest, I didn't think much happened in smartphone cameras, but my new Oneplus 11 is SO much better than my 9 Pro before that. And the Samsung impressed me a lot with those images. The iPhone would be much better I thought, but it wasn't the case at all most of the time!
with these comparisons its always intersting to see what both phones do, as one phone is always half a generation behind, and very regularly whichever phone is slightly newer wins. cant wait for the s24 ultra
Love the comparison! I can't wait to get my hands on the iPhone 15 Pro Max! I'm curious how the 24MP and 48MP modes compare to my mirrorless cameras (one is 24MP and the other is 45MP).
That would be interesting, although I don't think a smartphone can match a mirrorless with a fast sharp lens, at least not yet. Computational photography enabled smartphones to destroy point and shoot, but a m4/3? I'm not sure ... an a6700? Probably not ... An A7RV? Not any time soon.

200mp is GIMMICK , i tested in indoor and low light 200mp mode vs 50mp mode on x90 pro+ with 1 inch sensor and the lower the light the more details vivo has over samsung, mp is useless on such a small sensor as the one from samsung.

Can't wait for that comparison.
After years and years and years Android phones still take mostly grainy videos. It's an issue still not fixed so what is taking Google and Samsung so long?

It's all about software side improvement which only Apple can do because they are the only one who develops the chips and OS. In Android side Chips and OS doesn't come from one company.
Like so many things I love how complex the comparisons really are. Really does come down to what people want to do with it. That night mode stuff is crazy these days
though, both camps are scary good.

And if you're someone who's actually pixel peeping and looking at colour correction etc., then you're probably not shooting auto mode anyway and better of shooting manual/RAW and editing colour/light yourself.

u mad apple won

Although the comparison was pretty detailed, I feel like the last point should have gone to Samsung, also you didn't test 5x or 10x zoom in daylight, a lot of Samsung users use this feature in day and it's pretty helpful, I feel Samsung would have got that point. All in all its nearly a draw with a slight edge to Apple just because of almost no shutter lag, and better implementation of portrait mode after taking the shot(it's been there in Samsung for atleast 1 year now)
I like Samsung day photo too. i don't know how he give apple the day time photos. even in Night Mode I think Samsung is more pleasant to the eye and very good. Portait mode I thing Samsung is the winner again. but anyway maybe he is an apple fan after all.

I have fold 5 and I agree camera should be better but that's my only problem with the phone
I think the fold should have the same cameras as the s23 ultra. The flip I can see maybe the same at the s23 plus because it's more compact but the fold would be more flagship type.

-> You can enable HEIF picture format on the samsung and thereby have have a reduction in file size of 75% as per my experience while retaining the same quality for the 200MP mode.
-> You have a 50MP option in the samsung and hence it would have been more appropriate to take a photo with the 50MP mode of the samsung vs the 48MP of the iPhone for better comparison as the 200MP mode shines more on good light than in low light
-> For the 24MP mode yea, I wish samsung could push an update giving us S23 Ultra users to take 24MP in default since they have a 200MP camera anyway, and the 50MP mode is fast enough alright that I doubt 24-25MP mode option on the S23 Ultra would be a problem.
Good job pointing it out, he should've addressed some of this stuff in the video
It's not helping, still crap quality pics and video on S23Ultra.

Smart thinking dude
