My reasons:
1. First multiplayer map of any Halo game I have ever played was Blood Gulch on CE so it's very nostalgic
2. Red vs Blue
3. Really beautiful map even though it may seem very simple.
blood gulch is amazing i remember in middle school in class the teacher let us install halo on computers and the only map available was blood gulch and we murdered each other with the warthogs it was the most amazing time

Blood gulch is simple as all hell, but as you said, it's extremely well done. And all of it is simple...Heck, the cave part is probably the hardest part to make. O.o

Yo this made me remember all my memories of playing split screen halo reach with my friends. We all lived in the same neighborhood, so we’d do this thing where throughout the day we’d alternate houses and end up just playing halo
You missed out on so much...
- Getting outside the map
- Playing custom games like cat and mouse
- The wraith/tank boost where it launches your ghost/warthog across the entire map
- Sword cancelling glitch with a friend to fly across the map
- The hidden secrets you could do to capture bombs/flags in the bases
- Super jumps

It was a good map because it had endless possibilities
Then there is the ppl that modded weapon spawns on glitched accessable areas around the gulch.

I just loved how much of a struggle it was getting to the older teams base
I downloaded Custom Edition some months ago and I was surprised seeing an impressive list of servers and lots of players (not sure if some of them were bots) keeping this legendary game still running, so many memories came from my young years coming from school just to hang with the "clan" :')

Grif: Yeah, that's because we're fighting each other.
Simmons:No,no, but I mean, even if we were to pull out today, and they were to come take our base, they would have TWO bases in the middle of a box canyon. Whoop-dee-_______-doo.
Grif: What's up with that, anyway? I mean, I signed up to fight some aliens. Next thing I know Master Chief blows up the whole covenant armada, and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, fighting a bunch of blue guys. (This was not copied and pasted and I am making the blues too)

Church: God ____, I'm getting so sick of answering that question!

Best FFA map
Guardian is easy: It's basicaly a Quake map, and emulates that tight, speedy constantly moving gameplay style almost perfectly. If it's not quite as fast, that's compensated for by the fact most players are using controllers.
Guardian was amazing! I still remember the time I played Odd Ball on Guardian in the FFA Lone Wolf playlist and won against lvl 50's without dropping the ball once. I wish 343I could actually make a good Halo with good map's but we all know that won't especially with REQ packs still being a thing. Why bother making a good maps when they already have your money.

that map was so good because it was so evenly balanced. no one side had an advantage over the other. they may have had different paths but you still had to defend from all sides and anticipate where the enemies were. defence while playing offence at the same time. its perfection.especially the one on reach.

Blood gulch was by far me and my friends favorite multiplayer map back in the good old days! What memories! Staying up till the wee hours of the morning playing these games.
Sidewinder in the original Halo was amazing, especially when you picked up the camouflage and had a sniper. And the original Facing Worlds on Unreal Tournament. 2 of the best first person shooters ever created.

Sidewinder and Hang em High were also classic maps I played with my friends. Putting on unlimited grenades and "artillery striking" in hang em high was a blast
me who never has gotten to try the real multiplayer but got to play the demo version of the game when i was 7, i can safely say that this map is one of my favorite since 2005

I always played with Lasers in Complex. Or Golden Gun in Facility, because only one Golden Gun can spawn and it's in the toilet.

My and my buddies used to be all about some Complex in Goldeneye on the N64. Remember that one? All the hidden doors and the nooks behind the vents where you could camp and wait for someone to walk by, then just pop out and shoot them in the face. Friggin' hilarious. Falcon knows what I'm talking about.

Best memory of this map is someone downloading it onto the server in a specific classroom at my high school. We had a sub one day and someone found the file and everyone ended up playing for the entire class. Impromptu LAN party ended up being the best class that year.

Wanton Halo CE custom edition is some of the most fun I've ever had in gaming. I really hope modding is supported in Halo 6 when it inevitably comes to PC.

halo CE had some of the funnest gameplay ever. Rather or not it was a match on extinction, or an RP server, or even that amazing halo reach inspired map hugeass, i loved it to death. I wish the servers didn't die like they did, i know they're back due to a patch but its not the same anymore :/

At my high school we all shared this Halo demo on google drive that had a few maps but you could still play online and over the schools LAN. We had tournaments and it was awesome. This map was the best. The one that's just a square gray room with platforms and stuff was pretty cool as well.
The map with the snow and the big 3 floor building in the middle and underground tunnels in TIME SPLITTERS 2. That one was insanely fun to play on.

Ah, good old Blood Gulch. A lot of my childhood was spent in that map and Sidewinder. Both of those maps were and still are absolutely works of art in design.

It was basically a playground structure. The central spire had a multitude of levels and a few different ways to reach them, some jutting out like slides and others taking the form of ladders. Scampering about in one on one split screen reminded me of playground tag as a kid (especially using knives only) as the different structural elements led to interesting standoff’s between elevations.
This is a pretty cool video about Blood Gulch, i'm looking towards it and other classic maps for inspiration for my FPS game

Hang em high was our "official" LAN party challenge map. Many a beer had been thrown at the screen on this map! I recall carrying tv's, xboxes & Ethernet cables to a friends apartment, yelling at them in the next room. Good times.
So many Halo maps have left a great impression on me. I really loved Sidewinder and Boarding Action, and we always wanted to play Damnation too. Sick game.

I have never played a Halo game in my life. I haven't even touched an Xbox controller before. But because of the guys at Roosterteeth, I was able to watch this video and receive a similar wave of nostalgia like most here. Red vs Blue made up a good chunk of my life, and it is such a fond memory that it makes me smile and love this video. Thank you gameranx, and good work on the video.

I don't know how many people played it, but in Crysis: Wars/Warhead, there was a map called Mesa; it was perfect for VTOL and helicopter strafing runs with plenty of hidey holes and areas for infantry and armored vehicles to fight out of, not to mention the fun of occasionally popping off the odd nuke from a tank or a launch tube.

I miss playing Halo: CE. Those big ass bulky controllers and destroying my friends saying that they were screen watching/cheating. Those were the days. Also riding around and crashing warthogs together causing them to fly into the air. Amazing.

I really do like this idea of foregoing the typical list video. It's much more interesting to hear an in depth analysis of each "entry" one at a time. Plus, I doesn't give the feeling of ranking everything. It's more of, "we like this and here's why." So, short version: I very much enjoyed the video and if this becomes your standard format for future "lists," that would be amazing.
Halo: CE will always be a love-able memory in my head as my ICT class would often ignore the teacher and hold a match; we had some pretty good snipers to vehicle masters to melee addicts.

My entire Intro to Business Technology class in highschool. Using proxy servers to get around the firewall. Demo only so all we had was blood gulch, but we had LAN. Prolly spent more time in that map than I did in the classroom. Good times.

God, what an amazing show. The storyline has evolved so much, and the core humor is still there.

anything related to Halo has a big part in my memories and heart due to it being the first games i played. although i never had the chance to play Blood Gulch with friends due to the fact that no one owned the console, but i played it to create my own story/roleplay within it. these are good facts about the different variations of the original map (valhalla being my favorite) keep up on the good work in the channel! so multiplayer map?
