At least you got to see Costa Rica for a short time. In 2021, the country was closed to sailboats for some odd Covid reason. You could walk or drive or fly across the border, but no sailboats allowed. Oh well. We sailed on to Belize and spent longer there which was the best place ever! ❤️
Congrats for the 300th episode! 🎉👏🏻🥳 Wow you think it would be easy sailing but with all the debris and the difference in depth there seemed a lot to keep your eye on👀
I have faithfully followed you videos from the beginning. You have brought me many fine moments. Thank you all for making me one of your crew. God Bless and keep you all safe and sound. 🐻🙏🇺🇸
We had a 31' trimaran capsize in the Gulfport to Pensacola Race earlier today. And it looks like a tropical storm or hurricane might be passing near Grenada in a few days. I hope the boats that are in Granada or heading there, like Zatara, will be ok. Be careful.
300 oh my. I wish that I had logged the first time I found you. It was way back you were up in the northwest, and you had just begun the first remodeling of your boat I don't think she had a name. It has been a wonderful ride and I thank you. Lorand Layton
Great 300th video. I’ve watched every episode since you left Monterey, California…...The debris field I’m sure makes you and other boaters not wanting to run over night. Even the smallest of branches could do damage. Safe travels, looking forward to your next video
Around the 8 minute mark your Lat Lon reads Lat Lat, are you letting Compass edit the episodes 😂 Kidding love you guys and excited for the canal transit!
I've watched every episode. Now that Emma is older and doing much of the talking in the videos and looks like she really loves this lifestyle, does it seem highly likely that she will want to continue living this lifestyle and do UA-cam when she leaves the nest? By the way, I found out about traveling across the Pacific with pets. I didn't know that information before. What are your plans after you cruise the Caribbean? Do you think you will do Americas Great Loop?
The problem was when we drop our hook in 45' of water we would need to put out at least 160' of chain. The shelf that we had to anchor on was only 75' from shore so if the wind shifts, basik would end up on the beach.
By the way how old is the family security guard compass. I know he was 4 months old when you adopted him, but what month do you celebrate his birthday on
Do dolphins ever hit propellers or are they smart and avoid them? I'm asking because I've never heard of them hitting propellers and have no clue if they do or not.
@@OnboardLifestyle That's what I've seen as well. I haven't seen scars from prop strikes in person or videos. I also haven't heard of any prop strikes before on dolphins.
They are very smart. I see them herding fish and shrimp in the water behind our house along the ICW in North Carolina which faces Oak Island. They seem to be smart enough to use the tidal flow in the ICW rather than the ocean to transit and feed. 😊 🐬
@@TeddyCavachon Thanks. That helps me understand them a little more than I did before! I did know that they were smart because I was told that many times but other than that, all of that other stuff you said, I didn't know. So, thanks for that. Now I very curious about dolphins and motor boat props. I'm on a quest to find out.
Lol... Too deep ... Sailing Atticus discovered in Turkey their 100ft of chain wasnt enough the locals carry 100M, plus rhode and the y might only be...a few boat lengths off shore. Flooded valleys, Ffiords all are deep deep anchorages close to shore and the winds can blow up anytime and direction. 🧙🏻♂️🇬🇧🤷🏻

dont trust your pilot too much in the canal zone. many are hot dogs and dont like small vessels. their job is protected and accidents happen. a pilot named whitehead tore the prop shaft out of a vessel in gatun by running too close to the rocks. fair winds, k
Thanks for 300 episodes. With the quality of your content, you guys should be over 100K subs. Keep at it.
Maybe one day!
Thanks guys, GO Compass.👍🏻💕🐾🍖

Congratulations 🎉 on 300 episodes. That is an amazing achievement. 👍🏻
Your vlogs are very well made..
Thanks for your time.
Also thanks for living our dream..
GoPro attached to Compass's head, Compass cam with voice over by Compass. I think it would go viral.
The camera would weigh more than Compass.
Nice, safe travels.
Don't forget the new dingy in Panama. I am sure you have already got there.
That debris in the water would certainly be unnerving.
safe travels

45 ft sounds good to me! you might need toadd more chain to your anchor or more rope after the chain? i like 100ft of chain
The problem was when we drop our hook in 45' of water we would need to put out at least 160' of chain. The shelf that we had to anchor on was only 75' from shore so if the wind shifts, basik would end up on the beach.

Compass will turn 8 in November.

👏👏👏
Just a hop, skip, and a sail to the canal!

They mostly hang out around the bow, far away from the props.

I eat Skip Jack tuna all the time.
Pacific or Atlantic?
✌️❤️👌
Pity you raced through the best islands in Panama. Why didn’t you spend more time there.?
They had to get to Panama City to check into the country and make sure they stayed on schedule for the canal transit.
👍🌅🚈
"You guys ready for dinner?" Teal, in case you are suffering from gender blindness, they ain't guys, they are gals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long time sub and always enjoy....but ....maybe it's time to step up your game . Each week is like an 8 track tape. Just saying. All the best.

Of course, by the time you see this video, they will have already transited the canal…..
We found them quite professional on our transit.
