  • photographing the lone tree of Babbacombe, using long exposure and photo blending. I head out to Babbacombe to photograph this old tree perched on the edge of the rocks. Then I blend two exposures together to get the final image

That’s a beautiful lone tree Keith. I like a combination of the 1st and 2nd shot. The stairs in the foreground is more pronounced in the first one and that it didn’t have the branches peaking through the upper right part. But I like the exposure of the 2nd shot and the darker mood. 😁 nice shots!

Thanks Keith, I wasn’t far off your thoughts on this one. I liked the darker sky but wasn’t happy with the exposure, to be fair I probably could have merged the two together it o had thought about it at the time.

Thanks Mark, I am looking at exploring new locations, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to match yours

Ah, the most photographed tree on the bay. I've got a few myself with a 15mm.
The second shot is the winner here. Nicely done.

@@keithguppy It was on my daily walk for a few years. When the tide is out there is a path of pebbles and tiny rock pools that lead the eye out to sea in a giant S starting from the top of the steps. Well worth another visit if you don't have it already. Good luck with the channel. Subscribed.

Hi Keith hope you're well, good to hear you're nearly recovered. Great video and photos, my favourite is the final image of the 3.
Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen

Hi Jon, hope you are both well, thanks for the comment, I’m afraid I have to disagree with you on this one. Not the photo choice but the nearly recovered part. I went to the beach stepped onto the sand and fell backwards hitting my head on the concrete sea defences, straining both my legs in the wrong direction and my foot too. 🤣 you wouldn’t believe it. Backs fine now and this happens 🙈. Oh well maybe I will be better by Christmas 🤣

Nice video Keith... Love a good Long Exposure... What was that in the distant background of the third shot, looked like some Aircraft carrier lol!... Definitely preferred the second shot, like you say the dark sky in the third was just a bit too exaggerated

I do love long exposures too, I believe that’s a cloud, I think it’s more visible because of the exposure. But it could also be an aircraft carrier lol.
