- The Florida Highway Patrol shut down part of Interstate 95 in Broward County Wednesday afternoon as a heavy downpour brought flooding to the freeway, an agency spokesperson said.
And people don't believe South Florida won't be underwater 🤣
Ikr🤷🏾♀️
It's amazing how mother nature doesn't care about rush hour.🤔
I’ve lived in SF for over 50 years. This the worst I have ever seen out side of hurricanes.
Third world usa with 1st world cost and prices
How true
The city needs new investment of drain systems
especially with all the water main breaks
its an extremely high volume of rain in a short period of time, which is very unprobable. The drainage works, but they can only move water so fast especially when the city is already just barely above the water table.
The city needs TVOR!
😂The city is built in the sea. Think about it. They aint spongebob.
The drain would be lower than sea level, how is that going to work 🤔
When I lived in NC, we had a saying during weather like this. It was Don't drown, turn around. Very dangerous to drive through water like that especially with the possibility of sinkholes in that area
Hello! Exactly! Why people drive through water is beyond me. Do they not see it on the approach? 🤔
Australia. "If it's flooded forget it"
2024 is a very special year.
2025 is gonna be even more special. we'll be looking forward to it.
Special indeed!!🤷🏾♀️
How about having people stay home instead? Treat this like a hurricane or a natural disasters. SMH!
So glad I don't live there anymore. My second apt was under 5 inches of water after a day long down pour my second year in Lauderdale.
Why did you stay 2 years?
@@morrisparrish76 .. I was in Lauderdale a little over 3 years. I left because I had a thug from the hood shove a glock 9 in my face telling me to give him my money.
I prefer California weather. High taxes but no flooding or hurricanes where I live
Droughts rock & mud slides earthquakes collapsed highways…….take your pick!
@@747heavyboeing3 .. just earthquakes mudslides and fires both states are a mess one way or another.
Florida is a swamp with parcels of land & you want new drains 😃
Exactly. It's built on "man made" land
Is Marlago under water yet? Thats gonna be sweet.
Drainage is tidal. At high tide the water rises quickly, at low tide, it drains. Also, watch your wake and don't drive over 5mph in flooded areas ...
Can you please explain why you shouldn't go over 5mph in a flooded area? Thanks.
@@Suzy-Pie Because it causes a wake which will send waves into neighboring houses that will cause additional flooding for them.
@@BarrierIsland Thank you so much for that information.
Better get used to it Floridians. It’s gonna keep happening and getting worse over time.
Bro, I'm from Miami and this has been happening since I've had memory of events (early 70s). Nothing really to see here. It literally rains every day in South Florida in the summer, sometimes for hours on end, and occasionally the water evacuation systems can't keep up with the amount of water falling from the sky. Events like this have zero to do with global warming, climate change, take your pick.
@@ulicalpeople thinking this is new is hilarious. People praying to the devil for our downfall. This is just another Wednesday for a south Florida summer.
I lived in different areas of Broward county for over 20 years. Nothing unusual. Went out in weather like this with my rake. Cleaned drains around my house and within minutes had the driest street.
All that tourism money 💵, and Florida won’t even spend it on top notch drainage systems
florida spends its money on miss rhonda santis and her ambitions to get to the white house,, NOTHING else matters to dictator rhonda
It's Florida, there's no place for it to drain. Dig down 2-3 ft and you hit water, in the dry season!
It's south florida, not all of Florida 😅..and from my experience, the best drainage systems depends on the neighborhood..A middle class neighborhood it could be a swing and a miss. If you live in brickell, miami the drainage system..would have you feeling like katrina.
Miami is a very old city. Its drainage system is also very old. Where we are we have no issues with flooding.
@@brittenyevans1101When the rains hit Florida, no matter where it hits is screwed! I got my popcorn and am eagerly awaiting the hurricanes that are on the way! 👋😁 Yay, Mother Nature! 💖 She knows how to clean house! 🪣🧽
Yeah I was heading home during this, we had closed early at 3:30. Didn't get home until 5:15, absolutely nuts. On top of that, half the roads in Broward were completely flooded south of Sunrise Blvd.
REPENT OF YOUR SINS SEEK JESUS CHRIST
is he going to stop the rains if people repent? LOL. what a nonsense!!
Water up to your car door? Just the right time to drive to the supermarket.
Please wear the white boots again.
Ya know what channel 10 - I sure miss "De White Funkadelic Lauderdale" !!!!!!!
Broward County got to fix the drain system in south Broward specifically.
Lol stalled out more like hydro locked.
Dania Beach was flooded last year, as was Ft. Lauderdale.
I love Broward county but they need to get some plumbing goods from HJC Most of y’all would not know what that mean is plumbing good T.F.E
Just nasty out there people probably nervous late for work nervous thinking am i going to make it to point B.
Don't worry Florida, your governor says there's not such thing as climate change... just a little down shower.
I dont think you can use the words climate change there without getting arrested.
Obviously you're not from South Florida or you'd realize that this is a yearly occurrence. Unlike where you live, South Florida has the only tropical climate in the entire Lower 48. That means that during the summer it rains every single day, sometimes for hours on end. Stuff like this was happening all the way back in the early 70s when I was a kid living in Miami.
@@ulical That and he can spell.
@@boristheamerican2938 I think you hit the nail right on the head, Boris.
We used to surf in the streets of Florida growing up in the 80s..Nothing new kiddies…😊
That's it. All of these South Florida newbies or know nothings don't realize that stuff like this is a yearly par for the course for low lying places in South Florida. I remember this happening all the way back in the early 70s. But you know, a lot of people never want to let facts get in the way of a good narrative.
Back in my day, we used to surf in them streets
Where is the Florida governor Ron Desantis in all this? He hasn’t made any statements or declared a state of emergency so that the federal government can help. DeSantis is too worried about banning books and fighting Mickey Mouse.
The scream I just scrummed!!😂😂😂😂
This happens all the time here. It’s tidal flooding. When the tide goes back out all the water will go away.
Living in a swamp
@@Tiababy3119 😂😂😂
Just like a hurricane but a mini hurricane
Up to bottom of doors at job had to come home!
This is why i drive a pickup. Those small car will find out they fccvked their car when water gets inside lol
Not even during a hurricane I-95 is shut down.
only going to get worse. soon all your wealth will wash away
Soon you will own nothing and you will be happy
Meatball should ban the word flood
Don't worry Trump will write Florida a Check 👌
The city needs new investment of drain system...All that tourism money , and Florida won’t even spend it on top notch drainage systems
Where are they supposed to send the water they're trying to drain? It's effin Florida, dig down 3ft, you'll hit swamp.
it is not a drainage system issue. There's no place for it to drain
It’s tidal flooding. Nothing to drain. When the tide goes out, so will the water
Scary !!
Scary? Someones overly FEM….
How does that one country song go again? LOL
Couldn’t tell ya, Dont listen to any country or rap crap..😊
Wondering about electric vehicles...
Why they will work longer than combustion engine ones cuz once the water clogs the back of the tail pipe the car stalls.
DeSanctimonious already crying to the feds to bail them out. 😂
GOVERNMENT FAILURE PEOPLE ! YOU GOTTA SAY SOMETHING... TOGETHER! LET EM HAVE IT ! ... TAXES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH THERE WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
You’re absolutely right! This is an ongoing issue and nothing has been done for years and years to correct this
Both of you have zero clue as to what you’re talking about!
If you Darwin’s perhaps research you’ll find the answer, that is if you have brains that actually work !
Money is pocketed, and Florida is on the endangered list. You are on your own unless money is your gig.
They’re too busy banning books, promoting cancel culture, dumbing down the school system….. you know, the important things. 🙄
There’s no state income tax and the state sales tax is 6% what are you talking about?
I just ditch my car and use my ufo
Block roads already .
😮what the this oh ...
🩵🩵
Florida is a sandbar.
I guess no cheap liquor cigarettes or guns will be going north for the time being?
Ron Desantis doesn't believe in climate change. I find this rather stupid on his part.
This is nothing compared to us here in Wisconsin when we face misery winter blizzards
😂😂😂 Good luck with your little dictator doing anything to sort out the states REAL issues! 👋😁
New Mexico is far more beautiful with a nicer weather and cheap cost of living than Florida. Florida is overrated and expensive!
